JM Wood Sage again here today.

flora I think it's powdery too! In a cosy way, similar vibe-wise to L'Air de Rien which is another fave of mine,

yoikes · 18/06/2020 15:45

It's a dusty powder imo :)
Not baby powder or make up powder scent iyswim?
Whatever it is, I love it ❤

Geraniumblue · 18/06/2020 22:33

Sotd was Origins Ginger. It’s not sophisticated, but it is a cosy favourite.

Greenpop21 · 19/06/2020 07:36

M&S used to stock Roger Gallet Gingembre cologne and that was fab. My M&S has gone now.Sad

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 19/06/2020 11:27

SOTD L'Air de Rien. COLD and RAINY and FOGGY here and I am so sick if it!

teta · 20/06/2020 13:24

I started off with Diorissimo this morning . I now have Hiram Greens Lustre and Vivacious on each hand. Vivaceous is a modern L Heure Blue with a melancholy air. I'm not sure whether I'm smelling lots of tonka or Iris butter, along with the violet and aniseed.

MrsPerks · 20/06/2020 15:24

Hello All, hope everyone has some sunshine to enjoy this weekend?

I should be getting on with the chores as the house is a mess, but instead here I am reflecting on a couple of recent eBay cheapies:

SotD #1 is Agent Provocateur's Blue Silk - which I really like. It's quite a sharp/borderline sour woody aromatic but with a powdery cinnamon facet, and a hint of sweeter fruit. I can almost pick up moss, although it's not listed. Unusual but wearable and very satisfying.

SotD #2 Is Lyn Harris's La Fleur (from the discontinued and much missed M&S collaboration). This is like a more sophisticated and elegant take on all those gardenia-based sun tan lotion-inspired fragrances. This is a fresh, creamy gardenia and tuberose combo with musk and a rich vanilla. Hoping to sit in the sun with a book later wearing this Smile.

Calmasasleepycat · 21/06/2020 14:51

MrsPerks it seems as though you got a good haul of miniatures there! That proportion of amazing, so-so’s and watery sounds about right. Every now and again I blind buy a vintage perfume which turns out to be amazing and somehow makes up for all the duds!

I have been wearing Penhaligon’s Vaara today. I’m liking this more and more, a soft and spicy floral, very wearable.

yoikes · 21/06/2020 18:30

Sotd clean reserve sueded oud

I spend fathers day quietly since dad died...dh went to see his dad with the dc.

I might have a trawl on Ebay....you've encouraged me !

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 21/06/2020 19:32

SOTD FM Lipstick Rose. 💐 for anyone missing their dad today, I know I am.

SOTD lair did desert marocain. Talked to my old dad for quite a long time, which isn’t like him. Flowers to people missing their dads.

Watched sali Hughes video about Demeter/Fragrance library and now have 4 in my basket. Is this a stupid thing to do?

yoikes · 21/06/2020 19:39

I've got the tonka and amber LofF ones mrsp

They are pretty linear but I imagine are good for layering.

It's been 7 years since we lost dad. Feeling rather melancholy today.

teta · 21/06/2020 22:52

Sorry for all the perfumistas having a difficult day today 🌺.
I saw my parents for the first time since Christmas for Father's day. It was weird not being able to hug them or get too close.
@Calmasasleepycat your vintage haul sounds very impressive. I would love to pick up some decent vintage Chypres but my success rate has been rubbish so far.
Sotd is Diorissimo.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 22/06/2020 12:29

SOTD TF Soleil Blanc. I thought it was going to be a nice day today, but it is now cold and grey.

Hello teta, it was MrsPerks with the vintage haul. I do have some vintage bargains, but not eleven all at once (lucky MrsP)!

Penhaligon’s have a sale on, and I have succumbed to a reduced price bottle of Vaara. It is unboxed, but I have some spare boxes I can use.

Sorry for the weather up there, Judy. It is beautiful here ☀️

MrsPerks · 22/06/2020 21:21

I'm all in favour of low value risk taking Grin. I often set the search filter to under £5 and see what turns up...

In an only slightly more costly vintage L'Heure Bleue EDP today. It's lovely.

yoikes · 23/06/2020 07:57

Sotd yesterday and today will be 4160 extra sexiest scent on the planet ever imho

I'm hot.

And not in a good way :(

PearsMorgan · 23/06/2020 09:21

SOTD MH Tea Tonique. It is my hot weather perfume. I might layer on something incensey if it goes above 25.

I have dusted off and started using an old neti pot and have started being able to smell a lot more! I spend a lot of time in swimming pools normally and think that my nasal passages must have silted up in lockdown. Give it a go (another low risk purchase!)

I nearly bought a very small bottle of JPG Fragile for £££ but decided I might be very disappointed and went back to Do Son which smells like i remember fragile but without the risk.

Calmasasleepycat · 24/06/2020 16:32

SOTD Tommy Hilfiger Tommy Girl.

I have a little bottle of Tea Tonique, Pears. I must try it in this weather (over 30 degrees this afternoon!).

yoikes · 24/06/2020 16:35

Sotd 4160 extra sexiest scent on the planet ever imho

I'm seeing a very hot chiropractor later :)

MrsPerks · 24/06/2020 19:31

SotD #1 Suffolk Lavender (melon and incense), and SotD #2 Missoni Acqua (daisies and immortelle - neither listed).

Lotsofpots · 24/06/2020 20:29

SOTD was Korres freesia water bamboo, which is great for hot sticky commutes.

SOTE is the 4160 scenthusiasm Goldhawk, which just arrived today. Not sure about this. I've missed the opening notes entirely (blossoming flowers, lawns being trimmed) and get a blast of the much muskier, incense-y middle and base.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 24/06/2020 21:07

SOTD MMM Untitled.

OP posts:
teta · 24/06/2020 21:35

Sotd is Hermes Pamplemousse Rose.
I was roasting outside in 30 degree plus heat today. It is still very sticky and dd2 found a toad... that now has its own mini swimming pool courtesy of DD.
I've been inspired by your vintage buys @MrsPerks. So this evening I've bought vintage minis of Diorella ,givenchy lll and Paris. I hope they're ok as the diorella wasn't cheap.

MrsPerks · 24/06/2020 23:25

Classic picks Teta - fingers crossed for you! I've recently picked up a 10ml of Diorella (new in dogstooth packaging) and it is marvelous, slightly dirty mossy lemon. Just do love the 70s for that moment when perfume was able to be gender-bustingly complex/cerebral and skanky all at once.

Your Korres sounds perfect for the weather, Pots! My ears pricked up in case that was the J-C Ellena one, but I think he was responsible for their White Tea, Bergamot and Freesia?
