DH bought me a stunning pair of louboutin shoes for my 30th a few years ago... he keeps moaning I never wear them but they cripple my feet! I'm trying to wear them in during lockdown but omg they are so painful! Any tips?

They are my correct size and I'm used to wearing heels!

They will never be comfortable, Louboutin himself brags that he doesn't design his shoes to be comfortable just to look good. It's the modern equivalent of Chinese foot binding!

Mammyloveswine · 01/05/2020 21:28

Shock nooooo! They are so painful! Can't even walk across the room without shuffling bent over like Quasimodo!

Thats crap mr louboutin

MrsKingfisher · 01/05/2020 21:29

Which ones did you get, I find the Simples pretty comfy.

lonelySam · 01/05/2020 21:34

That's not a good news as I was going to get them instead of holidays this year.

Ihavenoidewhatsgoingon · 01/05/2020 21:36

Yes they are not comfortable - makes it easier to keep the soles red as you have to take them off quickly 🙈

OhioOhioOhio · 01/05/2020 21:37

Tell him to buy you Clarks.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 01/05/2020 21:38

They're taxi shoes. That is it. Not comfy and very overrated! Gorgeous to look at though!

LaurieFairyCake · 01/05/2020 21:39

You need:

To tape the third and fourth toe together with masking tape/surgical tape

Wear soft heel grips

And gel inserts on the balls

Rub Vaseline round any part that hurts and then put them in the freezer overnight

Then wear them while in the house the next day

After that you will STILL only be able to wear them as limousine shoes

They're fucking horrid and Louboutin is a misogynist

Mammyloveswine · 01/05/2020 22:42

This is them! I love them!

@OhioOhioOhio ha! I just bought myself a pair of kitten heels Clarks. It's like walking on a cloud.

OhioOhioOhio · 01/05/2020 23:24

lonelySam

Id rather have one of yours and hop than op's shoes.

NotNowMrTumnus · 01/05/2020 23:27

DH wants to buy me a pair so I said that I’d only wear them in bed. He seemed quite happy with that.

Mumof1andacat · 01/05/2020 23:32

Too high. Must be like walking on tip toes. No support in them. A pretty shoe though

user1493242132 · 01/05/2020 23:36

I have 5 pairs of Louboutins and they all suck. They are the kind of shoes you put on just before getting off the car and walk for a minute to get to a sit down meal! Sorry not helpful.

Ginfordinner · 01/05/2020 23:38

My eyes are watering just by looking at them.

I'm very much in the "if it hurts to wear them" they aren't worth having camp. I really, really can't bear uncomfortable shoes, and never buy shoes that I haven't tried on.

glitterbiscuits · 01/05/2020 23:39

My feet ache just looking at them

I don't see the appeal.

Can you get some stretchers to put inside or a cushion insole for the footbed?

RingaRosie · 01/05/2020 23:39

Tried them on once in TK Maxx... Coyld barely get them on to my feet.

FizzyPink · 01/05/2020 23:42

I agree, I own many pairs of very beautiful, very high heels and I simply don’t wear my Louboutins due to how painful they are. They also scratch super easily on the sole so look crap if you dare to step outside in them. I’ll never buy them again

IDefinitelyHaveFriends · 01/05/2020 23:42

I have to know. Why 5 user??? Surely you’d stop buying them after 2 at most?

Can anyone tell me which of the top end shoes are any better? My LK Bennett’s are totally comfortable in the upper mid range, but is there anything from the top tier which you can actually wear comfortably for an evening?

BaronessBomburst · 01/05/2020 23:45

I love my Manolos. I can wear them all day.

BaronessBomburst · 01/05/2020 23:46

(but most of my shoes are Clark's or M&S for sandals)

ActuallyItsEugene · 01/05/2020 23:49

It's a lot to do with the shape of your foot I think.

I have very narrow, size 3s with a high arch. My Louboutins fit like a glove, the weight distribution is even and none of them pinch... well, apart from the ridiculous (drunk) purchase of a pair with a heel height of 150mm.
They are most definitely taxi shoes.

Tape your toes, gel cushions under balls of feet and heels and walking in them as much as possible is all I can suggest.

If you have wide feet I've heard it suggested that you put on a pair of thick socks, put the shoes on and then give them a blast with the hairdryer. Should soften the leather a bit and stop them from pinching.

rednsparkley · 01/05/2020 23:51

I have had a pair of the Super Wallis Platforms for a number of years and honestly they are superbly comfortable. I wear them loads and have not treated them as taxi shoes ( the red is very worn and I need to find out if you can get them re-redded) Yours OP do look (to me) like an extreme angle for the foot.

For me the worst shoes ever are Irregular Choice - I have a pair of the Abigail boots and they make me cry just looking at them in the box.

Golly! They are high!!!!
I think you can only wear them out if you’re going to do it with confidence. I have a pair of boots that are slightly too high and I feel like a dick walking in them.
