DH bought me a stunning pair of louboutin shoes for my 30th a few years ago... he keeps moaning I never wear them but they cripple my feet! I'm trying to wear them in during lockdown but omg they are so painful! Any tips?

They are my correct size and I'm used to wearing heels!

They are lovely! I would have to just have them on display. When i was young I could never wear heels, my ankles go and i trip over. I have lived my life in flats. Jealous of those of you who can wear such beautiful shoes.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/05/2020 00:02

Jesus they are horrible .
Did you mention in passing that you wanted a pair ? Or does he like the effect that high heels have on the female form?
(Smaller looking feet , pronounced buttocks, shorter , shapely calves and a shortened more 'trotting' gait ? )

Imagine they were transparent . Imagine your poor toes in that toe box, squashed like a bankrobbers face in a pair of tights .

Modern Foot Binding indeed !

( I would sell them on eBay personally )

SpencerReidsMistress · 02/05/2020 00:04

The trick is you get a size bigger then stuff them a little 😊😊

copperoliver · 02/05/2020 00:06

Save them for special occasions at home. X

augustusglupe · 02/05/2020 00:09

God they look high. I’ve got a lot of Louboutins but most are 85mm or less. Those will never be comfy, but if you’re used to high heels and love them, just persevere.
Like others said, a lot of mine are unworn. I sold a few pairs on EBay last year. I have a pair of his Boots though that ARE comfy and I’ve worn them to death, even sent them down to London to be resoled. I’ve a few pairs of his Sandals too that I still wear
I can’t justify spending that amount on Shoes anymore though.

EnoughAlready2020 · 02/05/2020 00:20

I've got those Loubs too and I am a very seasoned heel wearer.

I've worn these 3 times since owning them for probably 4 years. I get leg cramps every single time. DH loves them on me though and he NEVER comments on my heels 😂😂

Ginfordinner · 02/05/2020 00:23

People buy shoes to not wear them, but just to look at them!!! Confused

Why?

Zelda93 · 02/05/2020 00:26

I own these and have worn them about 4 times in 4 years .. they look amazing on but wow they cripple my feet. My husband moans I don't wear them very often but I have to pysch myself up to it!! As someone else mentioned they are taxi shoes!! But I do still love them . Grin

I probably have over 100 pairs of shoes and wear about 5. DH sometimes comments that I don't wear the ones he's got me often but because my feet are so narrow I can't keep them on. Glad to see I'm not the only one with boxes of barely worn shoes.

achillesratty · 02/05/2020 00:36

The most comfortable "designer" shoes are Manolo's, he oversees every aspect of the design and it shows in the fit. I would rather go shoeless forever than start strapping my toes together before I could wear a pair of shoes. I can't believe women are still willing to put themselves through torture for fashion or supposed "sex appeal".

Fromthebirdsnest · 02/05/2020 02:36

Jimmy Choo heels are far more comfortable as are manolos, I have 2 pairs of laboutins and I rarely wear them .. However they do look gorgeous with a lbd ..just b ring a few blister plasters in your clutch 😂😂 x I recommend wearing thick socks (think alpaca wool bed socks) and wearing them in 20 mins intervals x

MsSquiz · 02/05/2020 03:20

I have the same ones in nude, and I think it is because they are so high/steep, that unless you have a high arch, they will always be uncomfortable. That seems to be why the platforms in the same height are more comfortable. Also, the super pointy toe doesn't help.
I have a very similar pair of Jimmy Choos and they wear the same, but they were my wedding shoes and I've probably only worn them 6 times since 2017

I also have a pair of the shoe boots in the 100mm heel and they are ridiculously comfortable, and I wear them as much as possible. And I'm probably going to get a pair of black pumps for my birthday in 100mm too.

@rednsparkley you can get the soles re-redded at this place. I believe it's the only place recommended by CL and were you needed to return your shoes to CL, this is the only place that doesn't void the warranty. (There are probably cheaper alternatives but they aren't accepted by CL)

If you are teeny tiny mini footed Kylie sized person they might work but they are horrendous for mere mortals.
I was bought a pair as a gift , exchanged them for a larger size and still never wore them. They went on ebay.
I agree that Jimmy Choo has mastered the art of making shoes beautiful and comfortable.
Valentino shoes are also great.

Mammyloveswine · 02/05/2020 07:08

Thank you for all the comments!

Pleased I am not the only one who finds them painful! I shall persevere with the socks!

I am used to wearing very high heels and had wanted a pair for ages but was still shocked he actually bought me a pair!

Will save them for nights away in carpeted hotels!

Will definitely check out manolos and jimmy Choos!

What’s with husbands who moan about what their wives wear?

LizziesTwin · 02/05/2020 07:22

Gianvito Rossi heels are comfortable.

Pinkyyy · 02/05/2020 07:28

Are they the so kate pumps OP? If so, it's very much a known fact that they're the most uncomfortable pair of Louboutins. I have several pairs and find them all extremely comfortable, the trick is to always go for a slight platform. I've tried the ones without it and they're very uncomfortable sadly.

BelfastNonBlonde · 02/05/2020 07:29

Christ they look like a torture device!

No thanks. Life’s too short for uncomfortable shoes..

Pinkyyy · 02/05/2020 07:34

Just realised that doesn't help you wear the pair you already own. My best advice would be so send them off to Louboutin (they give you the address and you post them and they send them back after) and have the red rubber put on the soles. You'll need to do that after a few wears anyway as the red rubs off, but it does make them much more comfortable.

Someaddedsugar · 02/05/2020 07:36

I think it's the height of the style you've got OP - I have a pair of Pigalle heels and they're really comfortable but they're only 85mm similar to a PP (I usually wear higher but I could tell that these would be painful if they were 100mm+).

When I buy a new pair of shoes I always take them to work to break them in (I work in an office building with carpeted floor and it's about a 30 second walk from car to door) and the smaller trips, say from my desk to the kitchen area, give enough time for me to get used to a pair of shoes.

Don't ever buy YSL heels - they are not designed for walking anywhere and instead should be used as a method of torture!

Dominoz · 02/05/2020 07:42

Such a shame that they're uncomfortable OP 😞

I have a few pairs of Sophia Webster shoes and they're fine and so beautiful.

MrsGrindah · 02/05/2020 07:42

If you have to tape your toes together before wearing a pair of shoes you should really have a word with yourself!

OP ..what a lovely gesture but if he complains that you don’t wear them suggest he does!

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 02/05/2020 07:43

Typical Louboutin - looks amazing but feels like torture. Thats why I dont wear his shoes-I'm 5'10" anyway so if I wore those i'd feel like a giant lol
Try Jimmy Choo- his bags are divine and his shoes are just as glam but fairly comfy

drcb83 · 02/05/2020 07:44

Nah they will never be comfy. They are 'indoor' shoes or at most 'car to bar' where you can have 3/4 drinks to make them comfier! Worth it tho as they look fab on!! Xx

cacaca · 02/05/2020 07:52

Are they ‘so kate?’ I remember once seeing on up close and stylish’s Instagram account that they are the shoe she finds most uncomfortable. She’s definitely someone who knows a thing or two about Loubs!
