Louboutin shoes

DH bought me a stunning pair of louboutin shoes for my 30th a few years ago... he keeps moaning I never wear them but they cripple my feet! I'm trying to wear them in during lockdown but omg they are so painful! Any tips?

They are my correct size and I'm used to wearing heels!

I've always wanted a pair too but was advised not too few add of the pain.

I live in trainers though 😂

mrscampbellblackagain · 02/05/2020 08:15

I too find louboutins incredibly uncomfortable but I didn't get on with manolos either.

For me Jimmy Choo are the most comfortable.

sotiredwe · 02/05/2020 08:54

I find Louboutins really uncomfortable but this style is impossible & I have a really high instep. Manolos are fab though, like wearing soft leather gloves & somehow the height doesn't hurt.

@pinkky will definitely check out the rubber soles!

So many comments basically saying the same Confused damn you beautiful shoes!

How do the celebs cope on the red carpet? They don't appear to be grimacing!

I sat with them on last night and they are ok when I'm sat down!

The rubber really does help! You can get it done quite cheaply at your local timpsons but they just use plain red whereas if you send them to Louboutin it has the logo on.

bellsbuss · 02/05/2020 10:15

I have 3 pairs which I love but they are car to bar shoes, they look amazing but they do cripple your feet. The relief when I take them off is immense, I only wear them when I know I don't have to do any walking.

user1487194234 · 02/05/2020 10:26

Mine are very much for cab to bar (or sex)

terrigrey · 02/05/2020 10:55

You don't have a shows problem op you have a dh problem.
After lockdown take him shoe shopping to a place which sells heels for drag queens. Get him to try on a few pairs. See what he says then.
Women have to go through enough pain and suffering through childbirth. You don't have to volunteer for more discomfort.

Are people still wearing heels like this? I live in London and super high heels just seem so out of date now, I never see anyone wearing them. They just remind me of the footballers wives type ‘glamour’ which seems very 00s. They just never strike me as very stylish, particularly when the wearer is clearly struggling and uncomfortable. Maybe it’s different in other areas or depending on your style and where you go but personally I’d sell them!

Floisme · 02/05/2020 11:09

Don't suffer for them. If you like how they look then I would put them on display - a bookshelf or a glass cabinet or something.

UnderLockdown · 02/05/2020 11:41

My husband bought me some. They were horrendously painful and not my thing at all. I sold them on EBay and bought something I liked

Lily193 · 02/05/2020 12:13

Soleia
They are most definitely still being worn by lots of women and many seem happily able to walk in them all day. I've been at large international meetings in both Europe and the US in the past few months (pre-lockdown of course) and very stylish, expensively dressed women were wearing these shoes for 12 hours or more with no problems.

Pinkyyy · 02/05/2020 12:19

They're shoes, not cast iron shackles. Some people need to get over themselves. Yes people do "still wear" heels, and you're being ridiculous of you think they don't. Oh and not just to please men either.

Soleia · 02/05/2020 12:20

@Lily193 they look dated to me. High heels just aren’t as popular as they were. Most women I know pair dresses with chunky boots (maybe with a heel but not a stiletto or skyscraper) or sandals. Clogs, biker boots, statement sandals etc. It looks a bit ‘fresher’ to me. I don’t see many women in London wearing these at work or out. I think it’s a general trend away from heels. Lots of women are wearing less formal office clothes - again IMO the suits and stilettos to work look seems dated. I see a lot of loafers, brogues and smart trousers with blouse/top but less of the matchy-matchy suits and heels look - which I guess is very conservative and I’m sure is still popular in some sectors. Each to their own though!

sotiredwe · 02/05/2020 12:31

I'm a Londoner & yes you don't really see people wearing shoes like that on the tube or in Pret because people tend to wear different shoes. I agree that as day wear heels tend to be less popular.

I wear trainers everyday to & from work but have a box of heels under my desk. I love a brogue but depends on what I'm wearing. Industries like banking & law are still quite conservative, even DH has "work shoes".

It's also quite location specific and style dependent eg for nights out in East London that involve bar hopping every women will be in a floral dress & chunky boots. Cabs to upscale bars will have more girls in heels & sleeker dresses.

whatdoyoudonow · 02/05/2020 12:33

Wear them in bed....😂😂😂💕

terrigrey · 02/05/2020 12:57

Out of towners and black cab-users still wear heels in London.
I too think it's out-dated.

terrigrey · 02/05/2020 12:58

People working law weirdly still wear heels, I guess the same in banking?

BobbinThreadbare123 · 02/05/2020 13:05

I grew up in Liverpool - heels were always popular and they still are. As high as possible. Still see women wearing them out shopping, with their rollers in their hair! Personally I've never got on with them and wouldn't wear them for work, but I work on an industrial site so I'd be hauled up in front of management for it Grin

Purplecatshopaholic · 02/05/2020 14:15

Loubies work well for me, it’s Jimmy Choo I struggle with.

Verite1 · 02/05/2020 15:39

I have 2 pairs. First were always v painful but second pair (which I love) I used to be able to wear and dance all night in. Since I had second child I can hardly wear them. I think it’s something to do with my pelvis shifting or something.

Verite1 · 02/05/2020 15:40

They are utterly beautiful though. I’m hoping my DD will have same size feet as me so I can pass them down along with my Choos!

Ginfordinner · 02/05/2020 15:48

I must admit that I am totally baffled why women wear shoes that hurt their feet and are crippling to walk in.

covidcougher · 02/05/2020 16:16

They are what my husband calls "sitting at the bar" shoes!

whichteaareyou · 02/05/2020 16:18

I brought a silver sparkly pair for my wedding and they were ridiculously uncomfortable. I sent them back! Very disappointed
