Will we see any royals out and about anytime soon?

Marlborough College only starts at yr 9 like most of the big public schools as traditional preps go up to yr 8. So Kate started at the usual time.

mrscampbellblackagain · 27/05/2020 19:11

Oooh ignore me, she moved when she was 14 but still not far behind her peers.

mrscampbellblackagain · 27/05/2020 19:12

God, we need some fashion don't we?

thisenglishlife · 27/05/2020 19:13

Oh yes, but transferred to Marlborough as she was being bullied at DH.

thisenglishlife · 27/05/2020 19:15

Here are some Royals in Hugo Boss or Boss.

It seems to be Leti's main designer brand of choice (I found further examples after doing this).

Yes and DH is also full or aristos and sloanes so 🤷‍♀️

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/05/2020 19:23

Love Leti's leather dress, and the deep wine red on Meghan. I think Boss also did the leather skirts they both wore.

I have just read this whole thread in one go. It is certainly different to the threads there used to be.

It certainly jarred when William says he grew up...his dad wasn't around. Remember the furore when Harry said Megan's Christmas was with the family she had never has and then no one says a thing when William says that Confused.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/05/2020 19:48

No, I think someone else in the doc said he grew up with his dad not around. Not William.

SunshineCake · 27/05/2020 19:50

That makes more sense. Thank you.

thisenglishlife · 27/05/2020 19:54

That was Marvin Sordell, not William

thisenglishlife · 27/05/2020 19:56

William did a very similar programme last May. If you'd like to watch it, here is a link:

Sad news: Shooting Stars, a charity that runs two hospices, has been forced to close one of their sites due to a lack of funds.

Shooting Stars is one of Sophie's patronages and it has also been visited by Charles and Kate.

Even many aristos have 'trade' in their families (particularly if they married into American wealth), so it's really not on to look down on her. Plus her father's side of the family are very staunchly UMC surely?

Of course, but snobbery is always about how the snob feels about herself. It's not in any way a reflection on the objects of derision.

That article was written by someone who trades on her name (the article was even titled 'Catherine the Great', a reference to Pasternak's own origins) and who clearly tries really hard to be 'provocative'. Self promotion is her specialty... www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-life/9812978/Anna-Pasternak-I-met-my-Wizard-ina-yurt...-sobbing-my-heart-out.html

Her husband...
Andrew Wallas embodies a rare combination of highly successful businessman and intuitive corporate shaman. He is both recognised in the outer world as a respected businessman with a sharp intellect and acumen, as well as being seen as an inner world guide with a deep insight and mystical intuition.
Hmm

2020notQuiteAsPlanned · 28/05/2020 06:27

That awful re the shooting star.
The NHS is funded by taxes - we should be giving to more these charities.

SunshineCake · 28/05/2020 07:09

Thank you *@thisenglishlife.

2020notQuiteAsPlanned · 28/05/2020 08:18

Yes - thanks for flagging.
I've made a donation.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 28/05/2020 08:44

Thanks for that english made a donation via their website. I hope you don’t mind me directing to their website.

I’m not great at links so hope it works

paradyning · 28/05/2020 10:09

It is absolutely terrible about shooting stars. I hope the same doesn't happen to Helen and Douglas house which Camilla supports. These charities do you so much you have absolutely no idea unless you've been in the situation yourself.

BlingLoving · 28/05/2020 10:33

God that's awful. I had to make a donation to a food bank recently when I saw how massively requests have gone up for their help. It was heartbreaking.

Tom Moore was amazing, but I wish some of that money had been going to charities instead of the NHS, which is supposed to be funded by the state.

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/05/2020 11:32

We are coming to the end of our thread again. However, I won't be starting a new one. I am spending far too much time on Mumsnet these days and have decided to seriously cut down on my use of social media. Twitter was the first to go, then Reddit and now I'm going to ask MN to delete my account on here too.

I've really enjoyed chatting royal fashion for the past couple of years with all of you but I've realised I've got quite the social media addiction and really need to rein it in.

Obviously if anyone else wants to start a new royal style thread then do go ahead!

Queenoftheandals-
I rarely post but have very much enjoyed your threads, your gentle regulation of them has kept things civil, and I applaud you for it. Flowers

BlingLoving · 28/05/2020 11:45

Oh no Queen. We will miss you.

AdaColeman · 28/05/2020 12:01

@QueenOfTheAndals
What a star you've been Queen, keeping these threads going over so many months. Sad to see you leaving, it won't be the same without you! Thanks Thanks
