The thing about the royals is that even if they do put the work hours in, unlike the rest of us they're doing so without any financial pressures, worrying about their lack of pension like me and have help with the day to day running if the household, nannies, cooks etc etc so it's a bit much that we are expected to feel bad that they're having to work hard.
I largely agree with this. I think they do work relatively hard and I do believe that certainly the modern generation also genuinely want to be close to their children etc. But I don't feel sorry for them (well, I occasionally feel sorry for them because of the scrutiny and the fact that work involves wearing high heels and being nice to people 24/7 but I feel sorry for hotel reception staff for the same reason).
But that article was awful. Complete hatchet job. And frankly, I'm not buying it - so many different sources all subtly implying that Kate and her mother are ruthless ambitious bitches and all during lockdown when they're not out wining and dining everyone?
Why are women treated so badly? No one accuses Michael Middleton of excessive ambition for his daughter?
Kate is often nervous around cameras and it definitely affects her voice. When she loosens up her accent is still all super plummy but it definitely is more real.
