Pippa in Temperley here

I love this colour

Those pictures show that they have completely different body shapes!

Meghan's waist is much much closer to her breasts - ie short waisted. Kate's is much further away from her breasts - ie long waisted? They're both tiny and neither has an hourglass figure with a very defined waist, true. But where their waists are is completely different.

Also not sure if this is a height thing or linked to the waist thing, but Kate's body is just generally longer. From her shoulder to her breasts is a much longer distance too.

thisenglishlife · 30/04/2020 14:57

I meant neither had a hourglass style figure, not length of torso. Yet Kate's clothes show off the waist well as her clothing is either adjusted or made to measure (even though she has a 'sporty' figure/not a defined waist).

Therefore, Meghan could play with tailoring and fit to slightly disguise the 'apple' shape. Although she has a shorter torso, she has more of a difference between her waist and hips than Kate does.

paradyning · 30/04/2020 15:05

Short or long waist i'd like their abs please.

BlingLoving · 30/04/2020 15:10

I agree there are times she could play more with tailoring or fit. But the point is that dresses and styles that suit Kate are unlikely to suit Meghan. Kate also has much better legs, more defined, more muscular etc, than Meghan, which impacts how she can dress.

thisenglishlife · 30/04/2020 20:07

I think they're pretty even on legs.

A fashion designer told Vogue that Kate often employs a high waist on her dresses and that it is a good tip for long torsos. So, a belt or detail above the natural waist, which helps give that defined waist and the torso doesn't look too long.

Yes, both duchesses have fairly enviable pins!

Meghan looks good in shorts. The striped jacket and shorts suit is one of my favourite looks on her. A fun play on a suit.

LadyEloise · 30/04/2020 21:17

Meghan's legs are amazing. I've hever seen such skinny but shapely and long legs.
Kate's are pretty fab too.
Mine aren't bad but they are short Sad

AppleKatie · 30/04/2020 22:11

I agree Meghans legs are amazing in those pictures. Obviously I wouldn’t turn down Kate’s either 😉

frugalkitty · 30/04/2020 22:49

I'd have Kate's pins over Meghan's but then most male footballers have better legs than me so anything would be an improvement to be honest Grin

theschoolonthehill · 01/05/2020 01:05

Meghan has fabulous legs. I've noticed them before as I'm envious as my own legs are like sides of ham! Fat and pink! Kate's are good but Meghan's are amazing. How did Meghan get such legs. Yoga? if so she is an advocate for doing yoga!

BlingLoving · 01/05/2020 09:52

Just shows how different perceptions are. I agree both have great legs, but I consider Kate's significantly better because they are more shapely. Meghan's are a bit too skinny for me (frankly, like mine were until I hit my 30s and gained some weight - it's the only part of me that suits the weight gain!!).

Eg, I think Meghan's legs look fabulous and agree that some of the shorts she wore pre-Harry were extremely flattering - but I think in a short skirt, Kate's look better. But Meghan still has flare and style that Kate doesn't have and the way she shows her legs is a bit part of it. Can't explain exactly what I mean.

Happy belated 17th birthday to Princess Maud of Norway (Märtha Louise's daughter).

What a gorgeous picture is Maud

LadyEloise · 01/05/2020 14:57

Did Maud's dad die tragically recently?

Ninkanink · 01/05/2020 14:58

He had struggled with depression for many years, and committed suicide on Christmas Day 2019. 😔

AngelaScandal · 01/05/2020 17:26

Difficult for the whole family to lose their father by suicidal but especially when they are in public eye.

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/05/2020 17:53

If not for male primogeniture until the 90s, Maud would be the eventual queen of Norway rather than Ingrid Alexandra.

Ah lovely. She’s definitely got the enigmatic royal smile genes hasn’t she!

thisenglishlife · 01/05/2020 23:05

She reminds me of Sarah Chatto

RomaineCalm · 01/05/2020 23:22

Really lovely pictures of Charlotte. Suddenly she seems like a proper little girl.

And yes, thisenglishlife there's definitely a bit of Sarah Chatto there.
