Will we see any royals out and about anytime soon?

Thanks QueenoftheAndals for the pics. Wasn't Kate's hair very long in picture 4 ?
I hadn't noticed it before.

paradyning · 29/04/2020 20:26

I don't think her skirt was embossed. It was cut out lace and Hampton Court needle school sewed it onto the fabric.

paradyning · 29/04/2020 20:30

Those platform shoes were fugly weren't they looking back. Sam Cam had a pair of Aldo heeled platform sandals on top that I coveted.
Max looked amazing in her Valentino.

paradyning · 29/04/2020 20:31

*on top. Not on top.

paradyning · 29/04/2020 20:31

Oh ffs autocorrect. Too

LadyEloise · 29/04/2020 21:18

paradyning - I feel your pain. GrinGrinGrin

Is Vanity Fair reliable it just more tripe? I’m skeptical about any article that quotes as friend’ esp when the same one said George looked like William when he is the image of Pa Middleton.

This was printed in it about her kids.

A friend of Kate’s told the magazine that she has commented on it before. “Everyone always comments on how Louis is the spitting image of Kate,” the friend said. “She loves it and thinks it’s very sweet, she often jokes that he’s the only one of her kids who actually looks like her!”

Fashion wise - the wedges ARE very dated. Shame as I have five pairs of them!

theschoolonthehill · 29/04/2020 21:31

I have said before that I think Louis is the only one that actually looks like Kate though!

thisenglishlife · 29/04/2020 21:50

Pippa was very tanned during the wedding, wasn't she?

The Middletons ladies used to sport tans frequently in the past. We've not seen Kate with a fake or dark tan in a while.

Look at the difference good tailoring and fit make (last photo).

Oof I really dislike those 1920s low headdresses, everybody looks sullen and somehow frizzy and blowsy

Grin @banivani

It crossed my mind that they looked like lunch ladies with their hair up in nets.

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/04/2020 22:25

As "ladies", they probably never had a day in their lives where they had to make lunch for themselves, let alone anyone else!

I loved the dresses Carole and Pippa wore to the evening party at the wedding.

Not keen on Meghan's jumper - she like me is short waisted and I find deep v necks look frumpy on me. So I maybe just projecting.

And I know it is just a wedding anniversary but would be wiser PR for the Sussexes to avoid posting stuff on significant dates to senior royals. Just feeds the negative propaganda. But I doubt it is down to H&M but rather their advisors who in my opinion don't seem to be that good.

mrscampbellblackagain · 30/04/2020 07:41

Regarding the fake tan, sometimes it was definitely too much but must confess I love a little fake tan [gets chucked off thread]

mrscampbellblackagain · 30/04/2020 07:42

I wish Kate did paint her toe nails when wearing sandals. My gel pedicure is alas no more and I hate the look of my bare toe nails [sad times]

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/04/2020 08:01

It was Smartworks who posted it but I really don't think a 9th wedding anniversary counts as a significant event. It wasn't like it was their 25th or 50th or even a birthday! The royal family Instagram posted something about Sophie's volunteering and Camilla's new patronage on the same day too.

mrscampbellblackagain · 30/04/2020 09:02

Just seems slightly odd that smartworks sat on it for a month. Look, I don't care at all but it isn't the first time that there appears to have been a lack of wise PR for H&M. People are loving the 'feud story' and I think stuff like this just adds fuel to the fire.

But maybe that's what they all want and actually the whole thing has been concocted by a Malcolm Tucker type character to keep the royals relevant Wink

LadyEloise · 30/04/2020 09:30

I loved Carole Middleton's outfits that she wore to both Kate and Pippa's weddings.

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/04/2020 09:39

I can't remember what she wore to Pippa's wedding but she looked great at Kate's. It wasn't a style high point for the royals though. They dressed better by the time Harry and Meghan's wedding came around.

Not keen on Meghan's jumper - she like me is short waisted and I find deep v necks look frumpy on me.

Is there another video showing her full outfit? I’m truly baffled how she could look frumpy because she is short waisted when the video was from the v neck up only?

LadyEloise · 30/04/2020 10:18

I didn't like the V-neck jumper either.
I dislike v necks anyway.

mrscampbellblackagain · 30/04/2020 10:25

I think those deep v necks just remind me of trinny and Susannah endlessly going on about if you have boobs and it just isn't true. I did say they look frumpy on me. I just don't like deep v necks and think they can look frumpy - I much prefer it when she wears a boat neck which is more chic in my opinion.

BlingLoving · 30/04/2020 12:19

And I know it is just a wedding anniversary but would be wiser PR for the Sussexes to avoid posting stuff on significant dates to senior royals. Just feeds the negative propaganda. But I doubt it is down to H&M but rather their advisors who in my opinion don't seem to be that good.

Honestly, I think this is silly. The royal family is large. Ideally, they're all working on multiple things with multiple activities (otherwise, we all get upset that they're just sitting around doing nothing). There is no way you can co-ordinate so that nothing is ever done on the same day. That's just silly.

And certainly, my sense is that H&M are now basically taking themselves out of the royal process entirely so I doubt that they'll be adding anything except the queen's major activities to their calendars to consider.

I thought the jumper looked great. Wasn't wild about the hairstyle with the sever parting and then pulled back. But frankly, she's at home doing a zoom call I don''t expect perfection.

thisenglishlife · 30/04/2020 12:30

Meghan actually has a similar waist/torso to Kate.

However, Kate looks like she has a very defined waist in her clothes. Meghan would benefit from that Kate look of very well fitted and tailored clothing.

mrscampbellblackagain · 30/04/2020 12:32

As I said I don't care really but this is the stuff that is being commented on so if I were them, I would just not do it for an easy win - but hey, not the biggest issue.

I think Kate is long waisted and Meghan short waisted?

mrscampbellblackagain · 30/04/2020 12:34

But agree that both don't have defined waists - I think that's why shift style dresses suit Meghan very well.
