Are these sandals nice or granified?

I love these sea salt sandals buy both dh and dd say they are somewhat granified and not stylish. What does everyone think? Also do you prefer the black or tan colour?

The kind of footwear you'd find a tan coloured tight covered elephants foot squashed into as it leaves a coach in Bognor.

I doubt anyone cares what your husband thinks.

rainbowsandgin · 10/04/2020 14:25

What about these?

Oh dear there are some touchy ones about today!

ZaraW · 10/04/2020 16:45

Not really it just wasn't funny.

TheCanterburyWhales · 10/04/2020 16:53

Yes, I'd love to see the ageist male model dh too.

MaidenMotherCrone · 10/04/2020 17:26

I found it funny.

Sandal threads always show how different people’s tastes are.

Personally I think these are miles better than the silver / bedazzled / embellished monstrosities that have been posted. Anything with diamanté’s should be set on fire.

@PARunnerGirl if you’re stunning, just wanted to say. And not Granny at all.

BringMeTea · 10/04/2020 17:37

Yeah any bejazzling = naff imo. And can't imagine why anyone thinks their husband's opinion is of interest. Unless their husband is Tom Ford.

Craftycorvid · 10/04/2020 17:41

Personally I do love a good functional sandal - I spend summer clumping about in Doc Martens fisherman’s sandals (described by DH as ‘those kipper boxes’). I often think the more ‘glamorous’ sandals are actually weirdly grannified - as in glam’ shoes seem a bit dated now (I’m thinking high heels, strappy etc).

Heygirlheyboy · 10/04/2020 19:42

See those uggs sandals are, to me, gone past granny to nun Grin I had a pair of skecher's shape up sandal and they were 100% nun Blush But I wore them when walking so what can you do? [Shrugs]

Craftycorvid · 10/04/2020 20:38

A former bf of mine used to whinge about my dress sense. When I asked what - in his esteemed opinion - a young lady ought to wear to be deemed appealing, his answer? ‘Tight jeans and a nice blouse’ HmmGrin

Threelionsandalioness · 10/04/2020 20:42

I Like the tan ones, certainly not granified imo x

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 10/04/2020 20:43

Salt waters are much cooler imo. I have rose gold ones - you can get them wet too. I don’t mind the Seasalt ones but they could look a bit frumpy depending on how you style them.

browzingss · 10/04/2020 20:44

I don’t think they’re stylish no, but if you like them then wear them

typicallyatypical · 11/04/2020 09:35

Gosh, the stylish vs frumpy sandal thread has kicked off early this year!
OP, you will never get an answer to this on MN S&B, the demographic is too broad and we all speak from our own perspective. None of us know you or the rest of your style, or your lifestyle which IMO is what will ultimately deem those sandals acceptable or not.

MaidenMotherCrone what your husband said was incredibly offensive, and judgmental.Aside from the rest of the sentence, he used "it" to describe a women ffs. Yuck.

Gallade · 11/04/2020 15:25

@PARunnerGirl you look so nice in your stripy dress!

I like them OP. DO YOU? If so get them! Who cares what others think. I'd get them but I have wide feet.

SirVixofVixHall · 11/04/2020 15:36

Anyone know Teva sandals fit ? I wear a five and a half, but they don’t have half sizes, so I have to go up or down. Have wide feet, high instep.

BringMeTea · 11/04/2020 15:51

I think a 5 would do. Esp as adjustable. Mind you I guess if wider footed you might like wriggle room? i also wide feet and high instep and take usual size.

BikeRunSki · 11/04/2020 16:15

@SirVixofVixHall - DH used to be boot fitter in a. Outdoor shop. He says go up in Teva. He’s a 10, and wears a 10, he says they are true to size and If you are half a size bigger your toes will flop over the edge.

SirVixofVixHall · 11/04/2020 16:22

Thank you BikeRunSki I can wear a five in shoes if they are wide, but more often wear a five and a half. Six is usually too big in sandals, ok in things like boots with socks. In Clarks sandals I wear a five or five and a half.

Runmybathforme · 11/04/2020 16:37

I’m a granny in my 60s, and I wouldn’t wear them.

Ticklemeelmo · 13/04/2020 15:31

Granny, but then I think all Saltwater shoes look very grannyish
