DanceWithYourBalloon · 17/05/2020 12:12

I was going to go for a walk but I made brownies instead. 😂

Karcheer · 17/05/2020 12:22

How have I missed this thread? Could’ve done with it... do you think it’s too late now?

Flippinfurloughed · 17/05/2020 13:04

@karcheer def not too late! Who knows when we will all be released back into the world for good?! I still need to lose 2 stone so am starting again from tomorrow with renewed vigour...... please join us and help kick me up the arse! What’s on your list?

Karcheer · 17/05/2020 14:16

@Flippinfurloughed what's not on my list!

Ive put on a lot of weight.
My roots are over 2inches long, the ends of my hair dry.
Ive stopped wearing make up, so to celebrate this my face has decided to become spotty, my eyebrows are a mess.
My skin especially my hands are so dry.
Legs are hairy.
i wear comfy/scruffy clothes all the time (as my jeans no longer fit :( )
my nails are random lengths and bendy (years of fake nails)
my heels are cracked.
teeth yellow - too much coffee.

i literally have no idea where to begin.

Flippinfurloughed · 17/05/2020 14:25

Ooh I had a list like yours and I swear these have changed my life (well, you know - made a big difference)

Teeth yellow - pearl drops instant white toothpaste and crest strips

Cracked heels - fake footner socks from China off amazon (these are amazing! Your skin turns incredibly dry, falls off in a disgusting manner and then you have baby soft feet underneath!)

Nails random length and weak - I was same here too, I’ve always had gel. I said earlier on thread (different name) that my nails have never been better now, I’m so proud of them! I buff them every few days, and use a cuticle oil. They are so strong and healthy looking!

Hairy legs - I bought a Phillips lumea at start of lockdown, I had one before but have started using it again. Changed my life. I have a wonderful hairy chin which has been beaten back into submission!

Face - I tried some of The ordinary acid mask. It’s bright red and had made the biggest difference to my skin ever. I recommend it to everyone. It’s only about £7, and my face is like a baby’s bum!

Oh! And someone recommended me o’keeffes working hands hand cream and I keep it by every sink. I love it!

I sound like I have my shit together from this reply and I feel like a total fraud as I’m sat in pyjamas, have roots too and am 2 stone over weight.... but ya know, baby steps and all that!

agteacht · 17/05/2020 14:52

Oh I love these lists, how did I miss this thread!

I have been princessing since lockdown but I didn't know it...

  • Started Michael Mosley blood sugar diet, have lost almost 20lb in 8 weeks
  • Obsessively listening to low carb and nutrition podcasts to educate myself better and keep on track
  • Regular scar massage as had c-section at end of last year
  • Bought a second hand spin bike and have been spinning 6x a week using the free Peloton trial
  • Sorted out a skincare routine and introduced retinol thanks to Caroline Hilton's blog and some amazing threads here
  • Cleared our years and years of old clothes to update my wardrobe and clear out
  • Re-started Lumea which I had got so lazy about!!

Next on my list... teeth (need to find the magic Pearl drops), footner, and my hair (it's a disaster at the moment!!). Am on mat leave so am hoping to emerge from both lockdown and mat leave in a much better place!!

agteacht · 17/05/2020 14:55

Oh and my eyebrows. They need to go on the list, they are a MESS.

FergusSingsTheBlues · 17/05/2020 16:52

Look at it this way, we probably have 4 months before full school gate presence required

4 months- 4 stone

Karcheer · 17/05/2020 17:39

I would feel a lot better if I could loose a stone.

I’ve cut my nails, shaped them, painted them with hardener and now painting them with Essie Mademoiselle.
I’d like to try and do this twice a week ideally...

Karcheer · 17/05/2020 21:01

My list for tomorrow is:-

  1. Walk the dogs twice - I always used to do this but have only been doing a fairly short street walk once a day since lockdown, my plan tomorrow is to go to the fields once and also the shorter street walk.
  2. Do a hair treatment - try and help the dry bits, would be good to do this twice weekly ideally...

What’s everyone else’s plan?

Flippinfurloughed · 17/05/2020 21:30

Ooh a good start with the nails @karcheer. Good luck for tomorrow!

My plan is to do my intermittent fasting and stick to 800 cals. I’ve planned out my food so I just need to stick to it now.

I also want to do week 4 of c25k - which is a bit annoying as I had finished it just before lock down. I am going to take Ds with me though so it needs to be manageable for him as well as me.

On a physical level, I’m going to remove my old nail polish and reapply. Do a hair mask in the shower and dry body brushing before I get in. Then lumea once I’m out the shower.

I’m torn about wearing make up right now - it makes me feel SO much better, but it also feels a waste of product and that I should be letting my skin breathe. I will see literally no one except Ds. What do the rest of you do?!

Patapouf · 18/05/2020 16:19

Hi all 👋🏽 I've decided that I don't want to look back on what should be my prime and regret not making an effort to actually look good.

I'm sort of low carbing, planning on being stricter moving forward.

I'm blow drying my hair every 4 days, and trying to use up my hoard of haircare products.

Footner a few days ago, waiting for the fun to begin.

Moisturising body plus exfoliating and fake tanning every couple of weeks.

Lumea to a strict schedule, I've downloaded the app and it reminds me to do it. I did really well with it a few years ago and then DC happened and the hair all came back.

Skincare, proper routine morning and night.

OPI nail envy to try and fix my acrylic damaged nails. I'm painting my nails too and planning on going gel toes when footner is complete.

I've cut down on caffeine massively but I need to tackle the nightly glass of wine now ☹️

Karcheer · 18/05/2020 21:00

Hi all,

How was your day?

Last night I flossed, I always forget, and I used moisturiser on my hands before bed, but then washed then and forgot to reapply so still very dry.
I moisturised my body this morning (and shaved my armpits!).
Also walked the dogs as planned and I’m sitting here with olaplex on my hair, I’ll sleep in it tonight.
Still eaten rubbish, but small steps eh!

Tomorrow’s plan is...

  1. walk the dogs twice again,
  2. facial hair removal...
  3. drink lots of water...

Anyone know how much water you should drink? I don’t drink enough at all!

agteacht · 18/05/2020 22:03

Ooh @Patapouf there's a lumea app? That might keep me on track!

Need to tackle the wine / gin here too...

FergusSingsTheBlues · 18/05/2020 22:04

Hi guys, hope everyone is doing ok!

Karcheer.....2-3litres is what I used to aim for

Patapouf · 18/05/2020 22:44

@agteacht it's called Lumea IPL, it sets reminders for when you are due a session and keeps a log of what body parts you've zapped!

PaperDreamsHoney · 19/05/2020 10:12

Just found this thread and would love to join in! At the moment I've got 3 stone to lose, so I'm trying to eat less crap and get more exercise to start with. Other priorities are to stop biting my nails, deal with my facial hair and try and be more disciplined about skincare. It's frustrating because I'm allergic to all kinds of things so I can't just order things online; I have to test them in store. Though on the plus side it stops me spending a fortune ordering things just because I'm bored!

Lelivre · 19/05/2020 10:23

I would like to join. I’ve seen these threads but haven’t signed up before.

I’m usually low carb now also doing 16:8 as I would like to lose a few pounds
Trying to keep on top of my roots
Planning to give up sugar and dairy
Considering a lumea
Bought a lash lift kit, but a bit scared to try it I need a plan for dry heels who have appeared from nowhere
I am bleaching my teeth

evieray · 19/05/2020 16:34

so relatable omg
sometimes i just don't look at the mirror, like
well, new day, same shitty me being locked in 4 walls.
don't brush my hair or shave
a MASK would be a miracle if a quarantine hasn't made my pathetic and lazy.

Karcheer · 19/05/2020 20:35

Hi all,

Hope you’ve all had a good day, how amazing is the weather!

Last night I flossed and moisturised on my hands before bed, hands Are still really dry.
moisturised my body this morning, walked the dogs twice, sorted my face hair (although eyebrows are still a bit rubbish but all the really odd ones have gone) no,no’d my nose hair 🧟‍♀️, I’ve still two glasses of water to go, but I’m going to do that.

I really should’ve done more with my hair today, but just put it In a scruffy bun.

Tomorrow’s plan is...

  1. walk the dogs twice again,
  2. drink lots of water...
  3. apply crest whitening strips, they aren’t the good ones, but they’ll be better than nothing.
  4. I’m going to restart 30days of yoga with Adrienne again, I did four days at the beginning of lock down and then got super lazy and stopped...

@evieray I’m the same, I’ve become so lazy which is why I’m not giving myself a big list, each day my plan is to add one on two things in, so I won’t feel like I’ve failed.

@Lelivre @PaperDreamsHoney I’m really not sure what to do about weight loss, I’m so uncomfortable as nothing fits me anyone comfortably, I have to change as soon as I come home as my pre lockdown clothes hurt my stomach. I did notice drinking a lot today meant I didn’t snack this afternoon, but I did have crisps and a Club and two white bread rolls for lunch :( tonight we’ve had pasta and garlic bread :(

FergusSingsTheBlues · 19/05/2020 21:52

I’m the same, need to lose four stone, am just so huge and a big size 26 now which is really shocking given I’m only 5’4

FergusSingsTheBlues · 19/05/2020 21:53

SIZE 16!!!

ChicCroissant · 19/05/2020 23:03

Welcome newbies, never too late to join!

I am keeping up the exercise, do half an hour of toning each day so not really for weight loss but I'm getting used to walking around each day with something aching Grin I'm enjoying it, and I don't hesitate to modify the exercise to suit me. Even after only a couple of weeks it's becoming easier each time and I'm doing a bit more.

Still working my way through the bathroom stash of products as well although there is a long way to go on that front!

The weather is certainly gorgeous at the moment and it's going to gorgeous again tomorrow for us.

evieray · 20/05/2020 15:22

also you know what help me?
I don't create the LISt the day before with all the plans
insted, during the day, I mske notes like
made a cup of herbal tea +
started laundry+
had a 3min yoga session+
lied in bed for 10 minutes just to relax +

and all tthese silly things make me believe i'm doing ok
everything is ok, I take care of myself baby-steps
