I'm really sticking to my calorie counting now.. it helps that I'm getting moved to a variety of wards at work so I only get chance to have one break & don't graze in the work kitchen as much!

Eesha · 05/04/2020 14:02

@Antinori86 what's this footner?

I'm ashamed of how little I've done, purely because no one is seeing me. Just eating more fresh fruit but nothing with my body.

CurbsideProphet · 05/04/2020 18:28

@Mawbags I'm thinking about asking DH to do it for me, as I'm not sure I have a steady enough hand! I've got a verruca on one heel Blush and usually get it tended to by a professional every 5 or so weeks. I've got a Newton's chiropody sponge, so I might start with that!

I've filed my nails and painted them in clear today. My hands are so dry I need to moisturise more. At least we've started eating a bit better this weekend.

Mawbags · 05/04/2020 18:34

Im starting a proper diet tomorrow. If i can just make it past my initial craving for 50 bits of toast....

Does anybody want to join me?

Mawbags · 05/04/2020 18:36

@CurbsideProphet
I did get so desperate once that i got the black and decker out... It was amazing!

You can needle verruxas, I did my son's v successfully. Basically you injure it enough to kick off an anti inflammatory response, it was gone a week later

@Mawbags I'm eating toast as part of my diet... as long as you count the calories it's fine!! I even eat a small bar of chocolate & I'm still losing weight slowly.

Permenantlyexhaustedpidgeon · 05/04/2020 18:58

I am starting to see the effects of princessing and I’m SO chuffed!! I have always bit my nails and then had alcrylics on. The gel had wrecked them and then I bit the stubs (I know, I know!) have been using hand masks, cuticle gel and a buffer and they are still reaaaaaallly short but they look so healthy and I’m SO proud of myself!

I’m still taking vitamins, am half way through a footner (@Eesha they are acid socks - which sounds scary but basically you put the socks on, then a few days later all your Dead skin flakes off and peels in the most disgusting and satisfying way ever!) what else? Oh! I found a radiant acid peeler thingy and used that, my skin looks so much fresher!

I still need to take more vitamins, stop eating, drink more water and exercise. BUT, I’m thrilled with the progress! Has anyone else noticed a difference yet? I need more satisfying quick fixes to keep me motivated!

ChicCroissant · 05/04/2020 20:28

Always exciting to hear (and especially see) result, pidgeon, well done on the manicure and nail care! I did finally manage to file mine down today so they are ready for varnishing tomorrow.

I am keeping up with some exercise as well, and the skin on my body feels much softer after consistent scrubbing and moisturising.

This thread has reminded me that I should treat my verucca as well, will dig out the gel and dab it on tonight. I'll add that to my list of things to do each day.

Rocaille · 07/04/2020 17:59

Great to hear results! ❤️

I've lost 1lb (early days), upgraded my retinol from 0.2% to 0.5% & footnered my hooves.

Tomorrow I shall start bodybrushing and moisturising. I'm thinking of microneedling some scars too. Might do some laser hair removal too.

Onwards princesses!

@Mawbags I'd love to join you on a lock down weight loss. I am at least two stone overweight, currently bursting out of all clothes, huge belly. Baking everyday and eating it as well as mainlining mini eggs. Normally run bb and sc but no tourists just now obv so not working, kids are teens so can focus on weight loss. What is your plan xx

Eesha · 07/04/2020 21:07

@Permenantlyexhaustedpidgeon i might try that footner thing now, though sounds a bit yuck. My toes already look dry and like skin has cracked, wondering if I'll make them worse.

So I might have date with a really hot man post this Covid stuff so I really need to up my processing from zero to hero!!! But today looked at my sad belly and almost wailed! I don't snack but I also don't feel like restricting myself given our current situation.

ChicCroissant · 10/04/2020 11:47

I've still not painted my nails, but the skin on my body is glowing from all the proper exfoliating and moisturising - it's amazing what a difference it makes!

How are we all doing?

Permenantlyexhaustedpidgeon · 10/04/2020 14:55

I haven’t showered in 3 days..... but.... my nails are my pride and joy and have never looked so good naturally in my whole life! What have you been exfoliating with @ChicCroissant?

I’m going to have a shower later and use my lumea. If I fake tan tonight will if effect how it works does any one know?!

ChicCroissant · 10/04/2020 16:00

For everyday I use those nylon scratchy gloves, they seem to work well with shower gel for a bit of everyday exfoliation for me.

I am no help with the lumea sorry, pale skin and fair hair makes them a no-go for me unfortunately.

Eesha · 10/04/2020 16:05

I have those, the Korean washcloths, definitely work even though I haven't bothered in ages as no one sees me.

Permenantlyexhaustedpidgeon · 10/04/2020 21:36

I’m glad you posted again @ChicCroissant as I had got in a bit of a funk. I had a lovely shower after I posted, used my lumea. Gave myself a pedicure, did hand masks and am now smothered in fake tan. I needed a kick up the bum!

LlamaofDrama · 11/04/2020 15:38

Question for the lumea users... how good are they, how long does it take to work? I've got brown hair and fairly pale skin, and bought a cheap imitation lumea in January. Instead of fortnightly, you use it 3 -4 times a week for 8 weeks to see results. I'm almost at that point, and I'm not seeing anything really and I think I'm losing the faith.

Does anyone have any experience of the cheapo ones? I'd like it to work, I'm being very good about using it, but I'm not convinced that we have lift off...

Permenantlyexhaustedpidgeon · 11/04/2020 16:18

I love my lumea. I had one years ago and it made SUCH a difference, I still have bald patches and my hair growth is noticeably slower still despite not having used it in about 2 years. I bought another one at the start of the virus, and am going to tackle using it again. You use it every 1-2 weeks though, yours sounds VERY intensive and like it’s not strong enough? I got mine from eBay and just got the essential one - it was £120, and whilst it’s not as good as my last one (think that was the £400 one) that’s more the speed of the flashes and the attachments Rather than the job it does.

ReginaGeorgeous · 11/04/2020 16:31

I got my lumea two weeks ago and did my second session with it this morning. Definitely noticed a reduction in regrowth on my bikini line after the first session, so will persevere. Am doing my bikini line, underarms and calves with it. I bought the Advance model rather than the prestige for £200.

LlamaofDrama · 11/04/2020 17:55

@ReginaGeorgeous @Permenantlyexhaustedpidgeon that sounds as though my cheapo might be duff 😪 I couldn't justify the expense of a lumea but it will be very annoying if I've wasted £50. Grumble.

AnPo · 12/04/2020 16:47

Can I join in please?! I had lost 1.5 stone to be a bridesmaid for a February wedding, ashamed to say almost a stone is back on. Blush

So going back to 5:2, walking the dog for an hour per day and will try one of the many workout dvds I've collected over the years.

Going to ban alcohol for the next couple of weeks and seriously increase my water intake. Ordering a lumea tomorrow, revitalash and some of those footner thingys. I had an overhaul of my skincare routine a few months ago so just going to continue with that until lockdown lifts and then seriously considering dipping my toe into the Botox pool...

ChicCroissant · 13/04/2020 11:36

Welcome An, good to have you with us. Well done on the weight loss even if a bit of it has come back - you know you can do it successfully and that's something to celebrate.

No way am I banning alcohol tbh! I am wishing my eyebrow pencils would turn up, but the post is a little slow round here ATM and the bank holidays are not helping with that.

I can't use a lumea (hair too fair, no contrast between hair and skin!) but I believe they need to be charged regularly so the battery works properly - keep them charged!

Used a different body lotion from stash this morning, smells nice but perhaps not as rich as previous lotions so skin slightly less glowy. I am liking the glow now Grin

We are doing some work in the kitchen so half of it is in our main living room (along with the materials) but in a few days I'll have a lovely new floor, so not exercising as much just now - could certainly clear a space for something though. Weather a bit colder today so not spending as much time in the garden either.

Still not varnished nails or dyed eyelashes Blush It's not like I don't have the time ....
