Scruffy as fuck
Dry shit wrinkly skin

I wanna emerge from my cocoon looking like a hot babe when the schools go back!

Anybody in the same position ??

I'm deathly pale and never manage to tan but since lockdown, I've been using a Garnier gradual tan body lotion. It's great and has taken the bone white brightness off my legs & arms. Never dare risk it normally incase I end up looking daft.
Would also recommend Newton's Chiropody foam (off Amazon) to treat hard/dry skin on the heels. It's cheap & it works.

ChicCroissant · 29/04/2020 14:55

How are we all doing?

I am still working through my stash of toiletries, and it's becoming obvious that some of them are there for a long time because I don't like them - I dug out an old body lotion this morning, decided I'd gone off it it was years old and threw it away, used something nicer instead. Similarly, I used a body scrub the other morning - great scrub but not keen on the scent, at least you can wash the scent off with a shower gel or soap! No good the stuff just sitting there unused, need to be more ruthless at an earlier stage with stuff as if it was newer it could probably be donated somewhere.

DanceWithYourBalloon · 02/05/2020 14:09

I'm soooo in to this princessing business. I can't believe I've only just discovered these threads!

So I'm about 10 week post having a baby. I had a huge bump and lots of sickness so I currently feel like an out of shape deflated balloon! 😆
Combine that with lack of sleep and I look knackered too.

So I've started to:

  • daily walk
  • body weight work out 5 times a week, with some careful post natal core work involved.
  • trying not to snack too much but having bigger healthier meals instead.
  • colouring my roots. I was bad at doing this anyway though.
  • using my IPL gizmo.
  • used a foot peel thing.
  • have been buffing nails and keeping them filed.

I have some Avon Skin So Soft gradual tan dry oil spray on its way. I also need to use up my collection of face masks.

DanceWithYourBalloon · 02/05/2020 14:11

Also anyone had any experience with micro needling? I've heard it works wonders on mum tums etc as well as the face.
I think you need a bigger depth roller for body parts though.
I'm going to look more into this.

Flippinfurloughed · 02/05/2020 15:41

I’d need a tarmac roller for my mum tum @DanceWithYourBalloonGrin interested if it works though!

Well done for joining us, but take it easy - with a 10 week old you have cuddling duties to keep up as well!

I’m renewed my princessing with the start of May. I’m trying to do yoga plus a walk every day, and I’ve been reading about intermittent fasting which I’m going to give a go I think.

I’ve really noticed a difference with my nails with the buffing and cuticle oil, and I’m about to shed my feet with my second footner. I think I mentioned before but the Ordinary acid mask has made a HUGE difference to my skin. I feel better generally, even if I’ve not been 100% a princess!

One thing which has made a massive difference to how I feel but sounds silly, I’m using a glass to drink out of at all times. So I used to keep a 2l bottle of water around the house to make sure I drank loads. I’m using a fancy crystal glass now and I just feel SO much more like a princess. It’s silly I know, but it puts me in the right frame of mind not to stuff my face with crisps constantly!

OhWhatsOccurrin · 02/05/2020 15:45

Very late to the party but please can I join Grin

QueenOfCatan · 02/05/2020 16:03

Marking my place if latecomers are welcome! I'm a bit of a mess, im at the weakest, heaviest and unhealtiest that I've ever been and am currently 39.3% fat. Aiming for 26.2% which is when I last looked and felt my best, so about 2.3 stone to lose apparently. Also need to look after myself.

I've been doing nopoo for my hair since January but the hard water is an issue so need to work something out for that. It looks great after a Rye wash but the days in between are not good.
I also need to get the epilator out for my legs and pits. And stop overeating and eating shit. And do 30 days of yoga again as yoga is great for me!

DanceWithYourBalloon · 02/05/2020 16:11

@Flippinfurloughed ha ha! Don't worry, most of the pampering, apart from the exercise, happens when the toddler is in bed and the baby is napping or being held by the husband. 😊
I'll check out the Ordinary mask. I'm a sucker for a new product.

I've also been replacing one or two of my caffeinated beverages with more water and peppermint tea.

ChicCroissant · 02/05/2020 20:39

Everyone welcome whenever, never too late to Princess! Congrats on the baby Dance, very recent so don't do too much too soon.

Nothing wrong with using the good stuff everyday furloughed, I agree with using a glass for water (yours sounds gorgeous) and I have a fancy cup for my coffee each day.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/05/2020 15:40

Everyone is doing pretty well , it's weird because it's not an "End In Sight" like a holiday or Christmas or an event (Weddiing , Birthday type) . It's more Getting Through It

I am wearing some BodyShop Banana Hair Mask and a towel wrap.
Not using the hair dye , I thought "Stuff it , I'm Going Grey"

Armpits need sugared
I'm using my Korean Italian cloths on my legs . My aim is to make them respectable as I'm going to wear my collection of dresses in Summer .
I'm not furloughed so going out ( work) 4 days a week.
But I don't need to make any effort apart from being clean, hair tied back and being physically there . I have a uniform so no worries about What To Wear .

I have ordered :
Superdrug Shampoo+ Mask and some Silver shampoo (Bleach London)

Some Revitalash Brow - I've used it many years ago and it does work but you have to keep on with it , the hairs do fall out in the natural cycle .
I was considering MicroBlading , but not at the moment obvs . I can do the Brow Serum in the meantime .

I sorted my wardrobe - wintery clothes (the left over jumpers and thicker leggings) are now packed . Summer weight clothes now washed .
Anything I'm not keeping are waiting in a bag to go out .

Including a pair of white jeans that I was obviously quite delusional when I bought . They would be nice on holiday until I spilled something on them. But not for Real Life .
They've haunted me for 3 years , so I've put them In The Bag .

Waiting for End of LockDown now for Dentist and Hairdressers

ButterbingQueen · 06/05/2020 00:59

Hi everyone, hope you’re all ok!

I’ve been taking inspiration from a lot of you Grin.

I’ve been trying to keep up a bit of a skincare routine (Alpha Liquid Gold in the morning; REN face wash, Lacura Toner and Lacura moisturiser in the evening). I know it’s nowhere near what a lot of people do, but I’m so ‘time poor’ it’s a start Grin. It does feel a little futile given I’m getting hardly any sleep so have terrible eye bags etc, but I’m trying! I’ve also been trying to eat good things for my skin and hair (I’m 6 months PP and my hair is massively falling out).

Apart from that, I’ve just started using Rapidlash. I really hope there is a small improvement and that’s it not a con!

ChicCroissant · 06/05/2020 13:29

I have finished one bottle of shower gel this week - go me! I do like toiletries and tend to get a lot as gifts, but the stash is taking over the bathroom so I need to finish some off. I'm trying to stick to the same bottle of shower gel and body lotion and finish them off.

I am using oil or serum under my moisturiser in the morning and it is helping, I have really dry skin. Still walking in the evening and doing some toning exercises during the day.

Having said that, I am currently drinking instant packet cappuccino out of my fancy cup, but I am still intending to come out of lockdown looking better than I went in, with the possible exception of my hair! I think my next appointment is booked for about two weeks time and I doubt it will go ahead.

Dingdongthewitchisbread · 06/05/2020 15:04

@Flippinfurloughed do you have a link to the ordinary face mask you used? I’ve been considering one of these but find it a bit overwhelming knowing what stuff to buy

Flippinfurloughed · 06/05/2020 17:16

@Dingdongthewitchisbread

I was really overwhelmed too - I basically decided on this, then researched only reviews of this, because the full range was too overwhelming and people recommend EVERYTHING and it blows my mind!

this is where I got mine it’s amazing, I promise!

Flippinfurloughed · 06/05/2020 17:17

I really panicked I’d linked to my sons school login page for lessons then ShockGrin

DysonFury · 06/05/2020 22:49

I love these threads. I'd say I've toned up a bit due to rediscovering a love of yoga, what feels like constant gardening and having to tidy and generally do more boring home based activities. My nails are permanently soil encrusted, everything is neglected and hairy and I'm pretty much reverting to cave lady state.
I hope to goodness Boris gives us a few weeks notice that the end of lockdown is night, in order that I can begin some power princessing.

DanceWithYourBalloon · 07/05/2020 09:11

@70isaLimitNotaTarget I'm intrigued by the banana hair mask. Is it worth an online order? 😊

DanceWithYourBalloon · 07/05/2020 09:15

Ooh another thing I do before my daily walk (go for one anyway even before lockdown) is to use a blob of suncream like handcream. Trying to ward off old looking hands by taking care of them with spf a bit more.

ChicCroissant · 07/05/2020 09:54

Last night I put on some intensive foot cream and cotton socks for bed - bought the cotton socks years ago a while back and never used them. I've been buffing my feet regularly in the shower, once you get them to a good state it only takes a minute so it's maintenance, not drastic fixing eventually.

Did another exercise class online yesterday as well. I'm going to miss all the free online stuff when lockdown finishes!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/05/2020 17:59

Dance it's 'ok' - it isn't something I'd choose ( I really don't like the Banana Shampoo or Conditioner ) but it was a Free GWP and it sat , lonely in the cupboard under the sink.
I had nothing else to use as a mask and I was just pootling round .
My hair did feel thicker but not shiny .
It's not something I'd hand over cash for .

DD has long wavy hair , she really liked it . Didn't weigh her hair down.

My Superdrug delivery is on its way to me so I've been using up random things in the meantime .

My Revitabrow arrived (really quickly) so I've been diligently applying , it'll take weeks to get a result by which time I'll have decided about Microblading .

ButterbingQueen · 10/05/2020 03:42

That’s interesting @70isaLimitNotaTarget. I wonder what the Body Shop’s banana shampoo and conditioner are like. I’ve often thought about trying them. It’s a shame if the hair mask wasn’t great.

Now and then I try Phillip Kingsley’s hair elasticiser which I really like Smile.

DanceWithYourBalloon · 10/05/2020 08:06

@ButterbingQueen
I have the Elasticiser! Love it!

Mawbags · 16/05/2020 22:01

I’ve put on a stone
help me princesses!!

OP posts:
FergusSingsTheBlues · 16/05/2020 23:41

Sorry I can’t, I’ve done the same! 😂

Flippinfurloughed · 17/05/2020 07:41

You know when women hang out together and their periods sync? Erm..... put on a stone here too! I literally just weighed myself and worked it out. I’m going to try SO hard and be good this week..... no more booze Sad

My goal for today (I wrote those down too just before Grin) are:

Lumea
Wash hair
Gel nails and pedicure
Only drink water today
Go out for an hours walk

I’m always more motivated on a Sunday for some reason - like I can make changes for the week ahead and it’s not too late?!
