@OneOfTheGrundys I shaved my legs and underarms the night before and went over them with the lumea in the morning. It did take me quite a while though, I’m sure I’ll get quicker with practice!

Itsonlymeeee · 31/03/2020 18:55

I'm on the vulnerable list so am in total lockdown & hubby also has to self isolate so am going to use this time to (hopefully) finally quit the dreaded cigs. I always said that the only way I would be able to quit successfully would be to lock myself away for 3 months, never thought it would come true! 😂 Also looking forward to letting my hair grow & giving it a break from colouring (though when all this over one of the first things I will buying is hair dye!) I can't exercise due to health problems but am stopping buying rubbish as need to lose about 4 stone (used to always have it in for the grandkids but won't see them for months 😢) & hubby (who also needs to lose around 4 stone) will eat crap for the sake of it so that's stopping. Got a load of face masks I've never got round to using so need to start pampering myself. I don't drink so that's not a problem. I'm 52 in May (😭) & hope to emerge from this as a right glamorous granny! 😂 😂 😂

Jeeperscreepers69 · 31/03/2020 19:30

@Mawbags why are you scruffy?

WildCherryBlossom · 31/03/2020 19:36

Hello! Just discovered this thread. I love it. Ive been trying to devote a bit of free time to self-care too. As I haven't been rushing off to a sports pitch with the DCs first thing on Sunday morning I've been making sure I epilate legs / bikini weekly. My mornings are slightly less rushed as no commute time so I've been trying to moisturise my body after my morning shower. I'm planning a mani / pedi session with my daughters this weekend. Being pretty good at snacking on apples rather than anything naughty. I have a couple of Stone I would like to shift. But I think it's unlikely that I will be able to get really fit when my daily exercise outing will need to include the children. Today I used my daily outing for a supermarket trip. It's really obvious that the children haven't had fresh air and exercise because they have been bouncing around the house squabbling.

Permenantlyexhaustedpidgeon · 31/03/2020 19:38

@OneOfTheGrundys my ex got custody of the lumea when we split up. Apparently he was going to pay the lady who gave him massages to do his back for him and seeing as he technically bought it who was i to stand in his way —he’s a dick— Grin

I also have a beard to go with my hairy toes, so am really looking forward to getting one again!

RunningKatie · 31/03/2020 20:10

Please can I join in?
I am WFH, but getting up very early to work then doing some kind of crowd management/homeschooling so we try and take the dc out for a daily walk but my step count has plummeted.
They hate Joe Wicks so today we did yoga as well.
Definitely need to shave my legs and start moisturising, I need to lose 2.5 stone really - if not 3. I'm snacking less with DH in the house however we are definitely sliding headfirst into comfort food territory.
I had my hair cut just before lockdown but am now washing it less frequently, and definitely not wearing make-up which is nice!

OneOfTheGrundys · 31/03/2020 22:05

@Permenantlyexhaustedpidgeon you should pay her to lumea a massive cock on the back of his head while she’s doing his back.
Bearded lady here too ffs. And thick glasses and goofy teeth. The odds are not in my favour looks wise. 😂 🤓

Rocaille · 01/04/2020 23:31

I'm another one who's already broken out the Easter eggs! 🐣🍫Blush

2.5 stone is what I want to lose. I went back to my ketogenic diet today. I'm doing it mainly to manage my depression, but apparently it's really good for weightloss too, so hopefully I'll shed a few pounds.

I feel as though I need a bit of an intellectual glow-up too, so I'm going to try to read for an hour each day, as well as doing a daily Italian lesson on Duolingo.

WildCherryBlossom · 02/04/2020 06:21

Yes, I have been wanting to read more too. I have a stack of books waiting to be read. I might start "reading hour" for everyone in the house. At the moment I'm so tired when I get to bed that I only read a couple of paragraphs and then go to sleep.

vaz119 · 02/04/2020 10:08

@BlackSwan... Really nice to hear about the original thread!

What a great idea... Love hearing what other people are doing 😁

I've taken this time to properly dive in to my tretinoin... The first few weeks I always give up due to my skin peeling but I'm not seeing anyone so I'm going full throttle 😊

RiverCrossing · 02/04/2020 10:51

I’m here! I lost 4 stone 5 years ago and have in the last year put almost that back on after a traumatic divorce. I’m using lockdown to stop using heat on my hair, to drink more water and hopefully to start shifting some of this weight!

Permenantlyexhaustedpidgeon · 02/04/2020 12:18

Right, so I have panic bought:

A Phillips lumea,
The Ordinary acid peel thingy
A body brush
Nail buffer
Footner socks
Hand masks
Hair masks

I need to just use them all now, and actually drink some water, take some vitamins and move my arse on to the treadmill!

Deathraystare · 03/04/2020 15:30

I have gone mad and decided to remove my old nail varnish (Mavala Cosmic Violet) . I put on Rimmel Red Ginger - not sure what is ginger about it - it looks like a pinky red. I not only put it on my finger nails but also my toes. They look a lot better though I am no expert at applying the stuff.

My grey roots will have to wait until I can be bothered to do my hair - possibly next week.

catinb0oots · 03/04/2020 15:38

@vaz I'm doing the same with my tret

Exoffice · 03/04/2020 15:40

I decided to let my overplugged eyebrows go wild in the hope I will have more of a natural brow after the lockdown.

other than that I walk 1h / day in lieu of my commute and hope that helps with losing a few excess pounds.

I also eat less as we have less food at home and I cannot just pop into the shop to crab a few things.

ChicCroissant · 03/04/2020 17:25

Hello princess-ers and welcome to those joining us this week, you seem to be doing well.

My electric shaver broke this week, so I will be having a look on eBay for a replacement. Still enjoying the scented body lotion after a shower, one of those simple pleasures that I don't make time for normally.

Did some exercise yesterday and today, need to do my stomach crunches today instead of eating half a kit kat which I just did

Still not done my manicure, and I'd like to dye my eyelashes as well if I can find my kit. It doesn't thicken your eyelashes like mascara but for very fair-haired people like me it really helps.

OneOfTheGrundys · 04/04/2020 10:52

Go Princesses!!

I’ve used the Lumea for the first time. Did my lower legs and arms. Still scared about my face.

It was pretty smelly though. Also the screen looked really splotchy afterwards. I had shaved but maybe not closely enough? Have I banjaxed the Lumea already with my hideous hairs? 😰

ReginaGeorgeous · 04/04/2020 11:51

I soaked my gel nails off yesterday. I thought they’d be a bugger to get off as I have builder gel, but was pleasantly surprised by how well it lifted. My nails are also in better condition than I thought they’d be. I’ve filed them right down and popped some OPI nail envy on them.

Still religiously applying my rapidlash every night and have been using the Inkey List retinol serum for a week now and I really like it, my skin is looking brighter.

I’ve got to sort out my diet this week. I’d lost a stone and a half between new year and mid March, but since we’ve been in lockdown I’ve put on 2lbs. It’s got to go. Combination of holiday cancellation thus removing incentive to be good, and snacking/drinking more wine out of boredom. I’m not drinking enough water either so I’ve just filled up a litre bottle and sipping it.

vaz119 · 04/04/2020 11:53

@catinb0oots... Keep me updated with how u are going..

I've just launched in with 0.5%every night 😳

In previous efforts I've buffered and/or mixed with moisturiser and peeled terribly on 2 nights a week

But I've had minimal peeling this time (dony know if its the nightly use or that I tried waiting an hour after moisturising?)

I'm also..
Attempting to drink 2L water a day
Trying to watch my calories
Attempting 5:2 (I used to go to the gym 6 days a week and I'm not burning anywhere near as much as I usually do, so thought this might be 'easy' to try to reduce overall weekly cals)
Pulled out the lumea again

PontiacBandit · 04/04/2020 12:08

I was inspired by you all yesterday and styled my hair properly and put on a bit of fake tan which felt good. I've been wearing a little natural looking makeup. Food wise hasn't been the healthiest but it's been nice to eat when we are hungry rather than enforced breakfast and lunch times.

Oceanblueeyes21 · 04/04/2020 15:50

Hi @Mawbags I have had the same idea as you! Been wanting to lose weight for years and never managed.

I think this is the perfect time with eating out and take always being a no no! I have lost around 8 pounds already.

I am having no breakfast (not to starve but just don’t eat it much), a light lunch such as a pasta salad, sandwich or soup. Some light snacks (10 cal jelly, low cal crisps) and then a good dinner that will fill me up. I make chicken tikka masala to last me days and I think I have around 15000 calories a day.

I have been doing this Zumba class I will link below.

Some great ideas! Following with interest

Geepipe · 04/04/2020 21:30

Hows everyone getting on? I just had a great bath and used a rough flannel to slough off so much dead skin it was unreal. Then used some grapefruit moisturiser i feel so soft.

CurbsideProphet · 04/04/2020 23:20

I'm so glad to find this thread. I always like the princessing threads Smile

I usually get my face threaded every 3 weeks, so I don't know what to do about that. Maybe buy some thread and spend lock down learning to thread my own face?!

I really need recommendations for wax strips to do my underarms and bikini line is anyone does their own regularly?

I've been eating a lot recently to cope with all the stress, though today I had a good spring clean of the house which I meant I didn't have time to eat.

Top of my list needs to be finding a way to keep busy in order to avoid just sitting and snacking!

I should sort my feet out. My heels are awful. They really need scraping with chiropody blade, but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to do it myself.

Mawbags · 04/04/2020 23:54

Glad to hear everyone is doing better than meee.... well I did a blinding fringe trim yesterday but have been cooking roasts and other comfort food. Congratulations @Oceanblueeyes21 on the 8 lbs::/ I might have put that much on.
May have to join you on the Zumba sessions!
