so, while rome burns I think I will fiddle with my beauty regime Grin I am thinking long baths,, depilation, total exfoliation, body lotion, wearing a hair mask ALL DAY, doing nails, wearing face cream slathered on and letting it sink in then NO make up (poor old dh! he has no idea who he is really married to! Grin) for the first few days, then

wearing my very fancy pjs/ kaftans and big earrings

going through the cocktail cabinet and experimenting and generally wafting about in a haze of Tom Ford and gin?

anyone in?

I'm going to wear all the clothes I've bought and saved for "good". I will wear all the good shoes that would cripple me on a night out within the safety of my home and within easy reach of my baffies when the pain gets too much. If I'm going to hell in a handcart, I don't want the person clearing out my wardrobe to find anything with the tag still on it. I may start dressing for dinner. 👸

Mymymycorona · 17/03/2020 11:43

I love this. The fake tan is out in our house. I'll be the most golden front line worker in the NHS. I've found a tub of hair ask, so I'll have silky locks under my hat😂
Its St Paddy's Day too, so quarantinis all round please. Slainte!

Mymymycorona · 17/03/2020 11:43

Hair mask. Not ask 😂 Must be the quarantinis... Too much gin

Ninkanink · 17/03/2020 11:46

My new-ish fluffy pink Pom Pom slippers! So comfy and cosy.

Noworrieshere · 17/03/2020 12:31

I'm going to get my hair cut on Thursday (hopefully), I'm going for a much shorter style than usual, I've wanted to do it for ages but not been brave enough. I figure if I hate it much fewer people than usual will see me.

SpokeTooSoon · 17/03/2020 12:56

Those of you who have hair colour done (to hide the grey!!), what will you do? Sneak out to the salon anyway? Or revert to box dyes Shock

Purplecatshopaholic · 17/03/2020 14:43

Did it myself @Spoke, came out really well. As I am not supposed to go out much no one is really seeing it but at least I don’t have to look at my roots any more!

thebabessavedme · 17/03/2020 15:03

I have mine bleached, I'm just going to wait until I can get to the hairdressers without having to wear a hazmat suit, it is only dh who will get to see my roots coming through and it wont hurt my hair to have a rest for while, the menopause has played havoc with it so i'm hoping that a 'coronapause' will help it along (really trying to find some positives today Sad my dd is taking things very seriously and not allowing our dgs to see us Sad i'm so missing him already.

It’s very hard for generations of families to be forcibly separated like this. My parents are 100 miles away and I don’t know when I’ll next see them. My children totally think we’re going to stay with granny and grandpa for Easter as we always do. But we’re not. It’s very sad.

Llamallamadingdong · 17/03/2020 21:17

Those slippers look amazing, so warm!

I’ve given myself a mini pedicure tonight and slathered some body lotion on. Slightly worried about the monobrow I will soon be cultivating though.

Aderyn19 · 17/03/2020 22:06

I did a gel polish on my nails, which was slightly risky since I've run out of gel polish remover. Am therefore quite glad I didn't mess it up!
Legs have been epilated and I am fully moisturised. Am lacking the glamourous lounge wear though. Did think I might save some money if I can't go shopping all the time but might need a little browse on the John Lewis website, to cheer myself up a bit!

Ninkanink · 17/03/2020 22:54

I’m about to put myself on a buying lockdown. Instead I’ll take up a serious Pinterest archiving habit so that when this is all over I can go on a proper spending spree (That’s the plan anyway...).

I’ve got a couple of days to go and then it’ll be time for a Lumea treatment.

I’m not varnishing my nails atm as they’re recovering from my having to remove a gel varnish with ordinary remover. Not good. But tomorrow I’ll do a nice mani/pedi pamper session and possibly also have a relaxing foot bath.

DariaMorgendorffer · 18/03/2020 00:31

I've found my people! Also going distract myself with a bit of pampering. Have so many products stashed away, which I never have the patience or time to go through.

Have a pack of footner which I have never used. Need to time that treatment well, so I can emerge from isolation with silky soles (I do know that may not be for a while!). Has anyone used it - do the effects last long?

Also bought my very first box dye! Semi-permanent as I'm starting to get greys. Feel like if I mess it up, at least nobody will see it immediately.

SpokeTooSoon · 18/03/2020 01:03

Would anyone risk a salon visit at the moment? Mine have emailed to say they’re seating clients two chairs apart and wiping down in between apts, the stylists are wearing latex gloves and face masks. Whole place is being deep cleaned by staff each evening. Best they can do really, must be very worried about the future.

Lardlizard · 18/03/2020 04:09

At last ! Now I feel like I’m not going insane with kindred spirits as these are my thoughts too, how to look good on quarantine, first day I’ve done exactly the same no make up, and slathered in Estée Lauder supreme plus, and been having long baths and yesterday thought I’ll give myself a pedicure
And what hair mask shall I order
I do have some fancy Pjs as I like PJs and to look nice at same time
Also been enjoying no bra just a just top under

So what hair mask shall I order? I do have some olaplex number three which I was saving, to plan to use after an in salon olaplex treatment, which I’ve never had

Aderyn19 · 18/03/2020 07:20

I really want to get my highlights done, but in all honesty I can't tell my DC to stop seeing their friends and grandparents and then go to the hairdresser's.

percheron67 · 18/03/2020 07:48

Yes! I am sure the self isolation will affect my mental health and so I am planning: 2 3walks a day around village, making every day a "pamper" day and exercising to music suggested by my daughter.

Shall be having fun and games with my hair because it is thick and heavy and will retaliate if it isn't cut! Have bought slides and combs to experiment with.

ParisInTheSpringtime · 18/03/2020 11:06

After a few days in tracksuit bottoms feeling very sorry for myself, today I have written myself a list of things to achieve in the categories: work, self care, and home. I have a huge stash of sheet masks which I built up when living in Asia - it’s about time I started using them.

Ninkanink · 18/03/2020 11:27

I’m doing exactly that today, too - all those vague ideas of things I might someday like to do are going to become clear, achievable goals which I will work towards over the year.

TeaAddict235 · 18/03/2020 17:39

Had another bath last night and washed my hair with a longer hair mask than the other day. Might actually week on week make it up to the recommended time of the hair mask at this rate!

Cut the apple tree today in the sun and got mucky, so might need another hair mask and face mask Grin
Am looking forward to it all now actually, whereas normally I avoid excessive time in the bathroom as I'm just too shattered to bother more than the essentials. Need to pumice more.

Have spent have a minute more in thought about what might work well together in my wardrobe. I might be gunning up some inspiration during this time of no paid work.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/03/2020 18:45

Hi all, checking in because tomorrow I will be going in to work to get my stuff, then WFH for goodness knows how long. I’m a lecturer, and will somehow be delivering online classes from my kitchen table!

My plan is to try and stick to my usual routine as much as possible, so shower, makeup, perfume and at my “desk” for 9. I won’t wear my work clothes, but definitely no pyjamas. I paint my nails three times a week, do masks at weekends, pedicure on a Sunday, so am going to keep that up too. Fortunately I had my hair cut on Saturday. I’m going to swing by Boots on my way home from work and pick up some nice bits and pieces.

Llamallamadingdong · 20/03/2020 04:47

Welcome Daria I’ve used footner before, not only was it very satisfying but it lasted a good few weeks (I imagine it would be longer if you kept exfoliating and moisturising your feet but I got lazy).

I’ve been slathering on body moisturiser and tons of hand cream because I’m constantly hand gelling and washing at work. My nails look awful as I have to keep them short so sadly nice hands are out.

My list for pampering (when I get home from work during the week): body moisturise daily, some sort of exercise like walking/yoga/weights and then once a week a face mask and hair mask.

Ninkanink · 20/03/2020 05:06

Hi all! I’ve not been able to sleep so I’ve finally got up, am settled on the sofa snuggled under the woollen blanket and have got YouTube on.

The Lumea treatment didn’t happen yesterday so I’ll hopefully do it today. Also planning to pamper my feet and do a pedicure.

My DH and I have worked out that while he’s working from home for the foreseeable future he doesn’t actually have to shower first thing, so I will be able to have a bath every day if I feel like it, and then later in the day we’ll switch on the boost so that he can shower. Yay, I get to have baths again!!

VanCleefArpels · 20/03/2020 07:34

I’ve found my people!

I very much stick to the motto “Feel like shit, dress like gold” so I fully intend to get properly dressed and made up for the bebefit of the stir crazy young people and dog 😂.

I urgently need to research home hair dye otherwise my roots will be inches of snow white frizz on the other side of this.

ParisInTheSpringtime · 20/03/2020 09:12

I’m considering using this time to allow my grey streak to come through - I have (or think I have) a Cruella streak at the front of my hair which might look quite cool. Perfect time to give it a go!

Today’s list includes a hair mask, and gold under eye patches. Need to wait until after my video conference though 😂
