so, while rome burns I think I will fiddle with my beauty regime Grin I am thinking long baths,, depilation, total exfoliation, body lotion, wearing a hair mask ALL DAY, doing nails, wearing face cream slathered on and letting it sink in then NO make up (poor old dh! he has no idea who he is really married to! Grin) for the first few days, then

wearing my very fancy pjs/ kaftans and big earrings

going through the cocktail cabinet and experimenting and generally wafting about in a haze of Tom Ford and gin?

anyone in?

Ooh, let's see a pic of your very fancy PJ's!
Pleeeeese

EdinaMonsoon · 14/03/2020 15:10

I’m with you OP. I carefully laundered all my favourite silk pjs, dressing gowns etc. I intend to waft around the house in my finery a lá Liz Taylor, with a vodka martini in one hand & anti-bac wipes in the other.

XingMing · 14/03/2020 15:41

These cocktails are Quarantini! Cheers...

TeaAddict235 · 14/03/2020 16:55

That sounds fun! I've got to step it up clearly, as I'm sat in jogging bottoms and a hoodie on the sofa. I did put on a face mask last night and do a hair treatment expecting to have to work today. In the end I had to cancel the meetings today as i have a sniffly nose.

Might take the opportunity to do a whole day hair mask though, good idea @thebabessavedme

Get the toenails also in order before the sun comes out.

BemidjiMinnesota · 14/03/2020 17:06

Such a good idea! We are all going to emerge from quarantine like well coiffed butterflies.

I'm going to try retinol for the first time ever. I was too scared to try it before because I'd have to go to work with a peeling tomato face Angry, but now I can hide away.

Mollypolly2610 · 15/03/2020 00:53

Sounds a bit like Abigails Party!

Purplecatshopaholic · 15/03/2020 07:19

Yup I am thinking along the same lines. Hoodies and leggings for days on end will really start to get me down. Did a hair mask yesterday, face mask, nails done. Going to go mad with my Phillips Lumia today, lol. Maybe treat myself to a YouTube makeup tutorial or two (or 26!). I will be the one sitting watching Netflix with PurplecatDog looking Glam As!

myidentitymycrisis · 15/03/2020 08:53

I have a Dead Sea mud body pack that’s been waiting to be used for some time

Llamallamadingdong · 15/03/2020 09:22

Love this thread! I’ve just put some Philip Kingsley Elasticizer on, exfoliated my feet (yuck!) and taken the old polish off. I’m contemplating buying a Lumea (been considering it for a while) but if I have to work from home, I could blitz my legs as well.

Terralee · 15/03/2020 10:06

Wish I could join in but I've got to work- in a hospital in a ward looking after coronavirus patients!!

The only positive is the two very fit looking doctors who have come to join us so I've got to work out how to look good in ppe.

I usually wear slim cut trousers from M&S with my tunic but they can't be washed very hot so I'm now buying navy scrubs from Amazon as we don't have enough on the ward.
But they don't fit as well. Sigh.

chocolatespiders · 15/03/2020 10:09

I have been far to click happy on the Elemis website but cant wait to try the rose exfoliater this morning.

Therollockingrogue · 15/03/2020 10:10

Yes. I’m going for oversized jersey dresses in beautiful prints, plenty of expensive perfume, and all my jewels. If I go down I’m going in style.
The house... minimal with plenty of candles and fairy lights Grin

longcoffee · 15/03/2020 10:19

We've rummaged through the shed and started a new DIY project this weekend, so have a sneaking suspicion that if we're suddenly hit with a mass enforced isolation I'd emerge looking like a bedraggled, scuzzy mess.

House would look FABULOUS though.

thebabessavedme · 15/03/2020 10:26

oh yes @Mollypolly2610 'do you like a bit of Demis?' Grin

will be wafting all day today, nails done, make up on, lights low! I asked dh how we could manage sex from 2m away from each other, he has assured me that will be no problem with a stud like him Grin

god we are bored!

😂😂😂

Llamallamadingdong · 15/03/2020 14:49

Terralee I’m frontline NHS too but in a GP surgery. We’re doing telephone triage but will at some stage end up with face to face contact with Coronavirus patients. I’m going to look bloody good under my protective suit and goggles though Grin

Ninkanink · 15/03/2020 15:55

I’ve recently bought some lovely pyjama sets, loungewear, several matching robes and a couple of pairs of pretty slippers. I love lounging around of an evening or at the weekend looking elegant. It’s addictive though - I find myself constantly looking at new things I’d like to have!

I’m going to start on a proper facial skincare regime soon as I’ve always been extremely minimal, as in pretty much nothing done, although once in a while I’ll remember to use moisturiser for a few weeks at a time. Just need to do a bit more research on what’s best for my skin type at my age.

I’m sad that I can’t have a long, luxurious bath at ours because the boiler’s too small to fill the whole bath unless no one’s had a shower that day! (If I fancy a bath I can go to mine which is only a 5 min drive, so I do get to have a lovely long bath every couple of weeks or so.)

Llama definitely get the Lumea, it’s fantastic. I’ve had hair free legs for a couple of months now and hair free underarms for a month, plus top lip and intimate area are almost at 100% hair free stage as well. So worth the money.

I really fancy a new peachy lipstick for spring/summer but need to wait on any further purchases until my stuff sells on eBay.

doadeer · 15/03/2020 16:05

My One-year-old son has had a cold and cough of some sort for the past four months it's been relentless we've had loads of time in the house I have to say my skincare regime is the best it's ever been! As soon as he goes to bed at 6:30 pm I have a bath and a glass of wine then change into my silky nighty and start my skincare regime. I don't really have much of a riveting life outside at the moment so these are my little luxuries.

My favourite skincare product at the moment is the herbivore lapis oil and I always cleanse with eve lom ❤️

I was having trouble sleeping and I've discovered on the calm app you can listen to soothing bedtime Stories! I love it

Llamallamadingdong · 15/03/2020 22:40

That sounds rubbish about your boiler ninkanink any chance of convincing everyone else not to shower for the day so you can have some luxury?! Thanks for the tip about the Lumea, going to look for a bargain as I’m sure lots of places will discount soon.

Lapis oil sounds interesting doadeer Would you mind sharing more info about it?

Ninkanink · 15/03/2020 22:46

Llama it’s not as much of a hardship as I’m making out - I could go to mine a few times a week if only I wasn’t so lazy...😁

CoolShoeshine · 16/03/2020 22:28

This thread has cheered me up! I’ve just watched the documentary about miss world 1970 so am inspired to take on an Abigail’s Party vibe in silky kaftan.
In more practical terms I would like to stop straightening my hair to help the breakage. Plus I’m planning a long daily walk.

CoolShoeshine · 16/03/2020 22:29

I also like the idea of using things up - I’m sure I’ve got a few face packs and body lotions in drawers that I can use.

Ninkanink · 16/03/2020 22:30

Yes I’ll be looking through my stash and doing some serious self-pampering.

thebabessavedme · 16/03/2020 22:43
