Previous thread

What will tomorrow bring for Kate? Does her love for green know no end?

And Thursday night sees the return of Meghan! I know she can be polarising so let's stick to just discussing her clothes rather than the intricacies of Megxit. There's plenty of other threads to do that!

a similar blocky heel to the ones Leti had on might have been an alternative option to the flats

I had a pair of shoes with heels like the ones Leti wore (but not as high) and they were comfortable to walk in. I probably still have them but rarely wear heels anymore.

Spudlet · 08/03/2020 21:32

Yes, I do prefer a blocky heel, if heels are called for (they rarely are for me, it must be said!). Better for walking across the basketball court as well, I’d have thought?

Spudlet · 08/03/2020 21:38

Oooh, has this been posted? It’s a Leti style retrospective:
www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/g10297690/queen-letizia-style/

I have to say she very rarely gets it wrong for me - she’s a very elegant woman. Although I’m not sure about the all red look at number 17 - a bit Handmaid’s Tale-esque!

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/03/2020 21:48

Nobody strides like Letizia! She always looks like she's walking off somewhere with great purpose.

Leti looks fabulous in those pictures. Unlike the blocky heels with the pink newsreader suit, those work really well. If I ever get back to my smaller size, I'd love to go back to that style of dressing. Leti nails businessy formal for me.

ashtyler · 08/03/2020 22:09

I do like Leti's style- she is consistently chic and definitely knows what suits her. I think she has the figure though to get away with quite sharp, minimalist looks. She always looks well put together

ashtyler · 08/03/2020 22:12

I think this is one my favourites. I love it. The depth of colour, the texture, the split, all of it.

frugalkitty · 08/03/2020 22:19

I saw a similar colour gown on her on IG earlier ashtyler and thought how well the blue suited her. I'd post a pic but it's just not working.

I'm not sure that I brought anything up, but I said what I wanted to say and I don't want to be dragged into a quarrel. Looking forward to some more Duchess fashion tomorrow, night all.

AudacityOfHope · 08/03/2020 22:21

Wow that picture of Leti, what a dramatic look!

justasking111 · 08/03/2020 22:36

Leti always looks so polished and graceful.

Stephanie is touching her bump, oops Grin

beanaseireann · 09/03/2020 07:38

allibaby
I wrote in a previous thread that the green dress Kate wore in Dublin to meet the President was a fright but wrote how lovely Kate was but the dress wasn't.
In the spirit of the thread - critique the clothes not the person- and in this instance that's what I did.

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/03/2020 07:45

I remember @beanaseireann. Re Meghan, someone several threads ago said she looked "an absolute fright" at Wimbledon. There's a difference between that and saying a dress is a fright! I thought that green dress was hideous even before I saw it on Kate!

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 09/03/2020 07:48

I wonder when Stephanie's baby is due? She looks so happy. They've been married quite a while so must've been under a huge amount of pressure to conceive. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to Kate and William if they'd not had a child by now.

OP posts:
Spudlet · 09/03/2020 07:55

Omg, it would have been endless headlines about baby sadness, and Kate (you just know it would have focussed on her) wouldn’t have been able to so much as glance at anyone under the age of 18 without headlines about her tragedy and whatever... it would have been horrendous.

Disfordarkchocolate · 09/03/2020 08:27

I think I'm the only person who liked the green dress. Blush

latedecember1963 · 09/03/2020 08:29

If Kate and William hadn't had their children, but had adopted a child would that child be next in line to the throne after William? I bet Senneca will know the answer to this!

BlingLoving · 09/03/2020 08:46

@Disfordarkchocolate i almost liked it too! just think the changes she made from original brought it into frumpy. I liked it on the model and thought that way would have worked on kate (although I appreciate the slit might not have been considered appropriate). So you're not entirely alone! Grin

I'd loved to have seen more of Meghan's outfit yesterday. I had a good feeling about it.

Have been chuckling at some headline about how this will the first time H & M will be seeing everyone. I mean, it MIGHT be true. It's also entirely possible they all had Sunday lunch together yesterday or coffee/cake/dinner/breakfast etc at some other time. I love the media's idea that unless WE see them together, they're not engaged with each other at all. Makes me laugh.

NoGravyForYou · 09/03/2020 09:54

What time should we be expecting to start seeing frocks today?

There's going to a be a couple to have a look at and I'm excited 😆

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/03/2020 09:58

I don't think so @latedecember1963 but I don't think the question has ever arisen! Has any title ever been inherited by an adopted son? I know those born out of wedlock still can't inherit, hence the heir to the Harewood title being the Earl's second rather than first son.

OP posts:
hopeishere · 09/03/2020 09:58

I was wondering that @BlingLoving - you'd hope they had seen each other at some point to break the ice.

BlingLoving · 09/03/2020 10:03

I was wondering that @BlingLoving - you'd hope they had seen each other at some point to break the ice.

Well, we know they saw the queen. Who else might have been there on Sunday? Did William and Kate come down to see them or vice versa? It's just so silly that the assumption is that they have no personal or private relationships. I suspect some of these royal reporters would be shocked to discover the queen uses a toilet like the rest of us... they've never seen it, so it can't be true.

NoGravyForYou · 09/03/2020 10:09

I would like to think that Harry has popped over to see his nephews and nieces before he flies back to Canada. They will surely be excited to see him/hear about Canada. One has to try and believe they still operate somewhat in the parameters of a normal family otherwise it's just a very sad situation for all involved.

CarrotVan · 09/03/2020 10:13

Love Leti's paperbag trousers and cream blouse. Very chic.

I would love her wardrobe (it would look crap on my but I could stroke it)

Less keen on Meghan's school visit trousers. They weren't as flattering on the stomach unless it's the way she was standing. Or she's early stage of pregnancy. I guess either is possible!

CarrotVan · 09/03/2020 10:17

I love Meghan's furoshiki bag though.

NoGravyForYou · 09/03/2020 10:19

That picture of Leti in the long blue coat/dress is amazing! She has the confidence to pull off anything like that; whereas I would look like I was a toddler dressing up in my mum's coat 🙈

Was Meghan's red dress the same as the blue one in Fiji? I know it was the same designer.
