Previous thread

What will tomorrow bring for Kate? Does her love for green know no end?

And Thursday night sees the return of Meghan! I know she can be polarising so let's stick to just discussing her clothes rather than the intricacies of Megxit. There's plenty of other threads to do that!

I agree @FiveTwoFaster, I think the literal dressing is fun and meant to be light-hearted.

Don't mind the green polka dot dress but she is killing me with those black boots.

Another frill and flounce hater here, so looking forward to something with clean lines and no fuss from Meghan this evening.

LizziesTwin · 05/03/2020 14:19

Catherine really couldn’t wear trainers & a denim jacket to a work function. She is representing the UK at work in serious environments. I think it would really disrespectful of her to dress down. We don’t know what she wears at the weekend when she’s off.

itswinetime · 05/03/2020 14:20

I thought the jumper was red but apparently it's orange and this is now doing the rounds on Twitter Blush.

For a bit of vintage style, here’s a tiny little Zara Tindall talking to Mike Tucker (the voice of Badminton and almost every other equestrian sporting event on British TV, sadly missed) in a very sweet set of dungarees.

@beanaseireann I agree - my two favourite pastimes, fashion and interiors (or nosing into other people's homes) combined in one newspaper.

Spudlet · 05/03/2020 14:29

I realise I worded my post very poorly. Mike Tucker is not the one wearing a very sweet little set of dungarees, though I’m sure he would have looked very stylish had he done so... BlushGrin

She could wear a cool Irish designer too - that’s very true. I wonder if any of it is also a tiny bit geared towards children to make it a bit more interesting for them. Seems like something she would do.

At least with this green dress there is no high neck and no frills / no pussy bows AND a belt. Am glossing over the boots. Still like the hair!

FiveTwoFaster · 05/03/2020 14:31

That photo of Zara!! Love it!

TokyoSushi · 05/03/2020 14:33

OK Kate, I love you, but your Irish wardrobe has been an epic fail!

justasking111 · 05/03/2020 14:34

Had a search for an irish dress designer. OMG Kate, what were you thinking some fabulous dresses on here.

that flag is funny! I like her jeans and orange jumper. I think she generally looks good in casual stuff.

Fab photo of Zara Smile

I am in two minds about this ensemble of Leti's. On the one hand I am a bit of a sucker for a pleated skirt, and I also love a silk satin blouse. However, I'm not sure about these colours on Leti - I think maybe she looks better in stronger colours.

Her hair looks nice tonged for a change.

MotherofPearl · 05/03/2020 15:07

Sorry, here are the photos. Blush

I think Kate has taken diplomatic dressing a step too far on this trip!
Although I liked her in the ODLR dress (especially the colour) I think she would have been more applauded if she had focused on some Irish fashion designers, such as Oliver Duncan Doherty or Aideen Bodkin for the dressy events and maybe Peter O'Brien for daywear.
The overuse of green and the shamrock has seemed a bit simplistic, it should all have been thought through at a more interesting, involved level, especially with their message being links between Ireland & UK.

mistermagpie · 05/03/2020 15:37

I'm not sure about Leti's look there. Somehow I feel like the skirt and blouse and shoes don't 'go', even though they do go... her hair looks a bit straggly as well and I usually like hers.

RachelTension · 05/03/2020 15:53

Long time lurker and came straight to the comments when I saw KM latest green dress today Grin

ItsJustTheOneSwanActually · 05/03/2020 15:55

oooh love Leti's skirt....

hopeishere · 05/03/2020 15:57

I HAVE THAT SKIRT!!!!

It's from Anthropologie!!

BlingLoving · 05/03/2020 16:12

Agree - an Irish designer would have met the diplomatic dressing stakes better. certainly, the attention designers get when kate/Meghan wear their stuff is huge. Or even just accessories from Irish designers or whatever would work.

I think it's Leti's shoes that throw off the outfit a bit. Plain black/dark grey or perhaps a lower heel might have been better. But as always, she looks great.

ashtyler · 05/03/2020 16:18

DoS has arrived. Lovely camel coat (with a belt of course!) looking lovely and happy. Will try to add pic

ashtyler · 05/03/2020 16:20

And Harry just looks so miserable these days Wink

Meghan looks beautiful I think they're just going to style it out, and leave as quickly as possible!

beanaseireann · 05/03/2020 16:21

Don't forget the wonderful Irish designer Helen Cody.
I've never met her or bought anything as she is out of my price range ( and size probably) but her work is stunning. Kate would look stunning in her designs.
Simone Rocha ( daughter of John ) too is a fabulous designer.

Wetdogloveshubert · 05/03/2020 16:26

The chap next to them both in the Leti pictures has a dreadful suit on, he's looking very crumpled. And the woman's trousers are drowning her! Leti's shoes look pinched.

Other than that, I quite like the outfit Grin
