Anything you have found a waste of money and wish you didn’t purchase, I’ll start Kevin A contour pallet! Looks grey on my face

Any palettes. I find I use only two or three of the items and the pans aand brushes are small and fiddly.

Lip glosses - long hair sticking to your mouth isn't a good look.

Mascara - the only expensive brand I've bought again and again is Lancome.

Went to The Ordinary but didn't buy anything. It was too complicated.

Elemis pro collagen marine cream. Quite pricey. Brought me out in spots! 😫

kerrynov7 · 13/02/2020 16:13

Magnetic lashes. Total waste of time and money 😂

Dowser · 13/02/2020 16:57

Oh yes 8 hour cream..all the models carried it in their tote bag.
I might as well have used Vaseline.
Also bare minerals ..bought it for my wedding.
Used it on the day..such a faff
Been married 4.5 years ...it’s sat in the drawer ever since.
Luckily was half price from tk maxx
Now I make my own moisturiser from natural ingredients , primark foundation and a lipstick that doubles as blusher...horrors I know..but then I’m done.

Dowser · 13/02/2020 16:58

Oh yes lip glosses and long hair..definitely a no from me

BeaLola · 13/02/2020 18:23

Elizabeth Arden - 8 hour cream - raved about everywhere - I find it greasy as anything & rubbish

Kiehls moisturiser - forget exact name

St Tropez shower tanner

Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in pillow talk

Ren canvas primer thing !

Yup - agreed.

TeaAddict235 · 13/02/2020 19:15

Henna for my hair. Got the 'real stuff' from Dubai. It made me look like worzel gummidge's wife

Katiepoes · 13/02/2020 19:53

Drunk Elephant peptide moisturiser - did NOTHING except give me a line of tiny red spots along one cheek bone. I weep when I think of the price.

Lancome's Mr Big mascara - clumpy, gave me panda eyes and still managed to be impossible to remove properly.

Agree completely on the 8 hour cream too - and can I add the lipbalm? The balm itself is actually quite good, but the tin! Impossible to open easily and they seem to get worse as they get older, I have thrown three away (I don't buy them I keep getting them as presents).

cheeriolover · 13/02/2020 20:12

Agree with anything CT lipsticks are CRAP!

I like Clarins beauty flash balm, makes my skin look much nicer when I apply under foundation, even without.

YY to redken and Kerastasse shampoo / conditioner, utter overpriced rubbish! Hair is less frizzy with Panthene.

Purplecatshopaholic · 13/02/2020 20:14

A Revlon pink glow liquid thing to brighten the completion. It might be good, IF you can get it out of the bottle...

Unmentionablesandfluff · 13/02/2020 20:15

Laura Mercier's Translucent Loose Setting Powder - it oxidises and turns me into a oompah loompah. Bare Minerals has the same effect.

Urban Decay setting spray. No discernible improvement. Urban Decay Ultimate Basics, no colour payoff.

ExpletiveDelighted · 13/02/2020 20:19

Boots Curl Creme = lanky, dull, greasy looking hair.

damnthatanxiety · 13/02/2020 20:23

twosoups1972 I use up products for my face on my body. E.g. The ordinary (which I think is basically water in bottles such is it's lack of any discernible effect) I used up on my décolletage and arms. I will use moisturiser type products on my chest and hands. It all gets used up pretty fast on a body.

dementedma · 13/02/2020 20:31

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour oil is amazing. A teeny squoosh works wonders and smells lovely

MadamShazam · 13/02/2020 20:34

Another one for Kiehl's moisturiser, made my skin break out. Rubbish.

MadamShazam · 13/02/2020 20:36

And Nyx lip lingerie in French Maid. Read rave reviews, and the colour is lovely, but its horribly drying and comes off in bits so hard to reapply.

Shookethtothecore · 13/02/2020 20:39

For the people mentioning the ordinary- it has changed my skin, honestly the results are incredible BUT- I had to email customer services with photos of my face, skin type, list of concerns and they gave me a list of what to use, in what order, and when. Only then I got results.
Also, the PP that mentioned beauty flash balm- I worked for Clarins for 10 years, there’s a knack to it, basically you can’t move it or rub it, and it just go on wet Moisturiser. So you put your moisturiser on, the. As quick as possible put a thin layer of the BFB over it, don’t rub, let it set. Then use foundation. Or mix a pea sized amount in with the foundation and use: it’s a fantastic product but we had so many people who didn’t get the knack of it and it then does fuck all

TeaAddict235 · 13/02/2020 20:40

Pantene is my holy grail. Nothing saves my hair time after time again. Even my grandma told me last time that my hair looked good!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 13/02/2020 20:41

I have to stick up for EA 8 hour cream. It’s amazing. Only need a teeny bit on chapped lips, or weird rash. But it’s lasts years. If I have a cold I need my 8 hr cream on my nose.

Lunaballoon · 13/02/2020 20:43

Another not impressed with The Ordinary products. The retinol in squalane is literally like applying cooking oil, which at night just ends up on the pillow. Another Emperor’s New Clothes product!

MikeUniformMike · 13/02/2020 20:46

Thanks for the tip Shooketh

Shookethtothecore · 13/02/2020 20:48

No problem mike- it’s a tricky product I won’t lie but when you the the knack of it it’s beautiful

Bananaman123 · 13/02/2020 20:50

Anything CT so disappointed
Pawpaw, not as good as carmex
Too faced mascara just awful and smudgy
Bobbi brown matte lipstick, like dragging sandpaper across my lips

Tartyflette · 13/02/2020 20:55

Yeah, the EA 8 hour cream is for chapped lips etc, i use it on my scouring-pad-like elbows.
