@KaliforniaDreamz how good are these dupes? I have never bought any. I'm a bit scarred by the Jenny Glow (Jo Malone) dupe. I know someone who lavishly slathers this on and it's very strong and synthetic.

But I am tempted by the Neroli Portofino....

Anyway, just to confirm I'm not very good at distinguishing smells, I looked Y up on fragrantica and it's a men's fragrance. Had a bit of a top-up and I can sort of see where they're coming from, but I'm not entirely convinced. It starts out a bit masculine (green & tobacco), but fades into inoffensive fruitiness after a while. I quite like it, for a women's fragrance.

Get the forte version . Not sure how accurate, but it smells good.

Ysl Opium - this is like the original 1977 version. Sublime.
Ysl rive gauche - gorgeous
EL white linen - really good
EL wood mystique - lovely
Palona picasso - good

Not so good:
CK obsession - vile

Valentino donna - odd smelling

I'm in work and the sun is actually shining - I barely recognise the blue sky as it's been so long! I am liberally spritzed in Acqua di Santa Maria Novella I adore it but it doesn't really last, or at least I lose the smell of it farily quickly. I love perfumes with a history and this one was made by the monks for Catherine d'Medici in 1533 when she married to the future king of France and she took the perfume with her! If you are ever in Florence I 100% recommend visiting the museum where they make the perfumes / soaps etc. It has the original apothocary where people went to the monks to get cures for the Black Death in the 1400's. Apart from that it's one of the most beautiful buildings and shopping experiences I have ever had.

I have a quick ques about the dupes - how do I search for particular perfumes if they all have different names?

SOTD JM Wood Sage and Sea Salt. I ordered the 30ml cologne, plus the body cream with my John Lewis voucher, so hopefully it will have a bit more longevity. I really do love it, but when I had just the perfume before I felt like it faded into nothing.

Today's lucky dip was MMM Sailing Day - a light citrus. Fortunately, it smelt nothing like any of the sailing boats I've ever been on; I'm not really sure there's a market for engine fumes, damp, wet ropes, shared toilets and fish! ⛵

Sotd is the Pure Distance Green one ( mind has gone blank!). It's very similar to Safari as my bottle of that now smells stinky. It's a vintage bottle that's been on my dressing table and gas obviously gone off. As the Galbanum now smells like pungent cat pee.
