So sorry Maud
Flowers

MotherOfDragonite · 27/03/2020 17:01

I'm so sorry for your loss Maud. And your workload sounds very stressful too, on top of what must already be a difficult time.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 27/03/2020 20:14

Sending 💐 to maud, and anyone else who needs them.

SOTD Tauer Gardenia, for a load of student one to one video meetings. I felt weepy by the end, thinking I might not see them in the flesh again.

Just bought eBay samples of Jo Malone Earl Grey and Cucumber, Honeysuckle and Jasmine and Vintage Gardenia, and Tom Ford Soleil Blanc for something to look forward to. SOTD was Maison Margiela Beach Walk. This is so lovely and summery but reminiscent of Nuxe Eau Prodigeux which is cheaper and just as nice!

1frenchfoodie · 27/03/2020 22:38

Than sounds tough maud , a funeral where nobody can hug or properly comfort each other. And I do not blame you for needing a drink with that workload Gin

SOTD DS&Durga Amber Teutonic, warmer and woolier than its name suggests. Strangely familiar, will need to think on it a bit more.

teta · 28/03/2020 13:02

@MaudBaileysGreenTurban I'm so sorry💐. It's human nature to want to comfort each other at such a time. It must have been so difficult not to do that. Sod this bloody virus.
My sister in in bed with it ( suspected) and feels too sick to even read. Hospital doc - cases on her ward this week and many catching it in the hospital.
I've worn Aedes de Venustas & Ffern Summer plus Diorissimo this week. May dig out my tauer Carillon Pour Ange as well 🐑🐑🐑

KaliforniaDreamz · 28/03/2020 13:29

This is depressing isnt it. xx
Condolences to you Maud xxx

SOTD Hermes Terre de hermes

yoikes · 28/03/2020 13:41

Hello smelly friends
Hope you are all as ok as you can be at this odd and scary time xx
I haven't got a sotd yet! Been busy cleaning but I intend to choose one shortly...
Lots of love x

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 28/03/2020 18:58

SOTD Comme des Garçons x Monocle Sugi. A beautiful lemony cypress.

OH asked if I’d been cleaning the bathroom. Philestine.

MrsPerks · 28/03/2020 23:18

Sorry to hear of your loss, Maud Flowers.

Thank you Mother and Foodie, that means we're now have the numbers to get up and running with the spring calendar. Daffodil

I suggest we do April. We'll have three dates each to enter a small reflection on a perfume on the calendar. It's fine to keep it simple with a few words, and also fine to go to town with images or sounds.

A calendar link will be PMd to participants shortly. Here's a suggested allocation of dates: (if I've missed anyone, sincere apologies, please shout).

Yoikes 1/4, 11/4, 21/4.
Kali 2/4, 12/4, 22/4.
Teta 3/4, 13/4, 23/4.
MrsP 4/4, 14/4, 24/4.
Boglins 5/4, 15/4, 25/4.
Judy 6/4, 16/4, 26/4.
Pears 7/4, 17/4, 27/4.
Calm 8/4, 18/4, 28/4.
Mother 9/4, 19/4, 29/4.
Foodie 10/4, 20/4, 30/4.

Bluesheep8 · 29/03/2020 08:01

SOTD will be Rive Gauche after a shower

1frenchfoodie · 29/03/2020 08:14

Thanks MrsPerks , looking forward to it :-) Dates fine funnily enough now I’m restricted to within 1km of my house for a short walk (cycling banned here) once a day.

teta · 29/03/2020 08:51

Thank you @MrsPerks.
Just remind me of the rules again 🤦🏼‍♂️.
Does it have to be new perfumes?
Like back of the drawer samples?
Wrappings was Sotd yesterday and possibly also today.
It's a beautiful cold sunny day here. Perfect for a long dog walk minus the crowds. We have no crowds this weekend as the National Trust area next to us has been closed to the public ( apart from us locals).

teta · 29/03/2020 10:02

Oh no, now Tk Maxx online has closed.
The world as we know it is coming to an end ☹️🤯😄.

yoikes · 29/03/2020 10:17

Thanks mrsp

Dh driving me demented atm

Twat.

Sigh. Well, I'm going to wash my hair and choose a sotd shortly.

I wore tom daxon riven oak yesterday and didn't enjoy it at all :(

MrsPerks · 29/03/2020 11:22

Morning All - sending everyone lots of love.

Teta - I think we're free-styling Smile, choosing things to write about that we already have in our homes and feel like trying out and wearing. (The only thing that comes close to a 'rule' is that we're not swapping this time).

It could be an excellent time to hit those neglected samples at the back of a desk drawer or bathroom cabinet, or give hasty/regretted purchases a second chance? But equally, it might be that all you want to wear right now are your most comforting 'old friends', or that you fancy constructing the ultimate green chypre playlist to celebrate the arrival of lighter days. It's all good Smile.

We'll collectively produce an olfactory diary of the journey through spring, under lockdown conditions. Smile

MrsPerks · 29/03/2020 11:59

No TK Maxx at all! Shock

(For anyone who who needs a laugh, I am linking to their 2016 Christmas ad which manages to be funny and borderline dystopian all at once...).

teta · 29/03/2020 12:43

Brilliant advert @MrsPerks.

teta · 29/03/2020 16:47

I've just found my new bottle of Fleur du matin in the washing machine. It's been thru' a 30 minute wash!
Anyway it's lovely citrus, herbs and honeysuckle.

KaliforniaDreamz · 29/03/2020 17:44

Window (and let's face it actual) shopping on line at TK max was my guilty pleasure. Gutted.

Looking forward to our calendar.

SOTD MH Violet Ida. Lasts about 5 minutes but is v nice. If you like Parma Violets obv.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 29/03/2020 20:09

SOTD Chanel 19.

Thanks MrsP for setting everything up, got your PM too. I will have to put my dates into my phone calendar as I am losing all track of days/time!

I'm so sorry for your loss maud, the funeral must have been extremely hard. Perhaps a comemmoration can be done at a later time?

I'm not an academic but I work at a University and agree that it's just crazy at the moment, both in terms of volume of work and surrealness. We're all working remotely and some are really struggling with it. I have worked from home one day a week for a few years anyway so I'm pretty well set up but even then it's weird doing it full time and I loathe the many zoom meetings that I have to attend!!

I've gone back to basics with my SoTD today, with Angel (PP version). I know it's marmite but it was one of my first perfume loves and I find it extremely comforting. Because this is a rollerball it's a bit less pungent too, which is good for everyone else in sniffing vicinity!
