MrsPerks · 21/03/2020 10:23

Good Morning Lovely Perfmuistas. I was wondering whether we might need a virtual calendar to brighten things up?

Here's the proposition:

For each of the next three months, let's do a seasonal calendar, plotting our olfactory journey through spring.

Let's not bother with swaps; this is a time to fall back on our own resources. Let's review those overlooked perfumes lurking in our sample trays, at the back of cupboards or bottom of abandoned handbags (as well as our trusted spring favourites).

Are you in? If so, let me know and I'll rota everyone onto a Spring calendar. If 10 Perfumistas join (and we probably need at least that number for this to be viable), that'll be 3 dates each a month to write a little about the perfume of your choice.

yoikes · 21/03/2020 11:15

Oooh I'm in :)

Choco musk again today...

I've cut the boys hair, started washing sofa covers, and am about to strip some wallpaper...

Displacement activities??? Me??? 😄

KaliforniaDreamz · 21/03/2020 12:28

I'm in Mrs yay!

And thank you for the prompt to buy the L'air De Rien... Not that it will ever arrive now ha ha

SOTD Kelly Caleche - Hermes
This is leather and flowers all at once. Teta you might like this.
Feels quite good for today actually.

teta · 21/03/2020 13:53

@Kali I will. Sounds interesting.
Sotd is again Diorissimo . It's funny how sometimes you fall in love with a perfume for a period of time.
The calender sounds an absolutely brilliant idea . I think we all need something to look forward to - so I'm in!
The shops were rammed today with little social distancing going on . I was picking up food from lots of different shops for people and someone was saying she felt ill🤦🏼‍♀️ in one little shop and then proceeded to go to lots of shops and chat to people. Why is she shopping then? The stupidity amazes me.
Now I've come home only to find the national trust place next to us is full of cars - cheek by jowl. So much for fresh air.

MrsPerks · 21/03/2020 15:10

Excellent! Thanks Yoikes, Kali and Teta. Anyone else game?

Kali - I like Kelly Caleche. And you've revealed a silver lining; so long as I am able to do my job from home, I can now wear anything I like on weekdays, including great big skanky leathers (to reassure you I am still talking perfume here...).

So to celebrate I'm in Empreinte (Courreges) a gorgeous soapy skanky suede chypre. Even the modern formulation seems very true to its 70s origins. Softer and powderier than Azuree and Cabochard. And it combines very well with Paris 1948, turning that it into something with more depth and complexity.

KaliforniaDreamz · 21/03/2020 15:46

Oh wow Mrs thsat sounds lovely.
BTW i got my MH from QVC of all places!!

Boglins · 21/03/2020 16:21

Ooh I'm in for the calendar! We're self-isolating so need something to cheer me up!

Sotd is a random sample Lalique Illusion Capture (or something along those lines, can't be bothered to go and check!). It's quite heavy, more suited for a night out really but as there's not much chance of one of those I decided to wear it now. It's rather comforting actually!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 21/03/2020 19:04

Me, please mrsperks!

SOTD Miss Dior.

PearsMorgan · 21/03/2020 19:09

I’m in! Please! Not that much in stash but waiting on the Ffern spring...

Also been enjoying perfume that my colleagues can’t smell over Skype. But DH also working at home and tends to complain if he can’t get through the silage without sneezing.

SOTD Mojave Ghost - I’ve been getting the children to choose and this is 6yo favourite (I had to buy a fb after she sprayed my sample all over her bed).

MrsPerks · 21/03/2020 19:47

Excellent Pears, Judy and Boglins! Ideally we'd be joined by at least three more Perfumistas.

Calmasasleepycat · 21/03/2020 22:43

Me too please MrsPerks! What a good idea 😊. I’m very sad at the prospect of not seeing my grandchildren for the foreseeable future. I need cheering up.

I’ve been wearing lots of big hitters: Dark Heart of Old Havana, Carner Besos, Zoologist Civet and Miss Dior (vintage). Being stuck at home means I don’t have to worry about the effect on others. 😊

MrsPerks · 21/03/2020 23:02

Oh, lovely to hear from you Calm, we'll do our best. Smile.

Think we're all going to be doing a lot of Skyping in the weeks ahead....

PearsMorgan · 22/03/2020 06:37

Haha it autocorrected sillage to silage. I will miss the smell of silage all locked down.

Bluesheep8 · 22/03/2020 07:11

SOTD will be Rive Gauche

Lotsofpots · 22/03/2020 08:30

Calendar sounds lovely but I'm going to opt out as things are so hectic with work atm.

Have to keep working (both of us are key workers whose job can't be done from home) so kids will stay at nursery three days a week. In central London, which requires using public transport to get to. I fee v v stressed by the situation.

MrsPerks · 22/03/2020 08:52

Pots - completely understand. That sounds very stressful. Flowers

yoikes · 22/03/2020 12:31

pots 💐

PearsMorgan · 22/03/2020 12:44

Pots Wine and Cake too or whatever’s your thing.

SOTD CK One. Still good.

KaliforniaDreamz · 22/03/2020 14:45

Oh Pots that is really stressful x

SOTD MH Violet Ida

I'm wearing Dolce and Gabbana Velvet Mimosa Bloom today (prestige range, the UK stockist is Harrods):

Velvet Mimosa Bloom reveals the natural and luminous glow of the Mimosa flower, a flower chosen to celebrate women. Born from the Sicilian memories of Domenico Dolce, the scent has an unmistakable trail, gracious and persistent.
The fresh floral fragrance is dominated by the most precious mimosa flower absolute which is obtained only from the blossoms of the mimosa, hand-picked one by one. This holds the purest floral intensity and evokes sophisticated femininity and softness. The purity and persistency of the mimosa flower blends together with the tenderness and rich texture of narcissus absolute and violet leaves.
The opening of the perfume is a combination of precious citrus oils of mandarin and bergamot, along with neroli oil bringing to life the warmth of the Mediterranean spring. The heliotrope and musky notes extend the floral signature of the Mimosa with its vaporous sophistication.
Very outdoors and 'Spring', an English garden and fields.

Mimosa Pour Moi remains my favourite mimosa scent though.
