Tried the Atkinsons The Joss Flower recently, but left with The Other Side of Oud.

Now my favourite scent, it's just delicious.

A paid job has come up that is pretty much ideal. And the employer really wants meto apply.... Except that with dhs new role/promotion, my voluntary work, dc, mum and my stupid malfunctioning body parts it's just the wrong time :(
Ugh.
I'm trying to convince myself of the cons of the job...it''s nmw, very wooly description of time needed (some bank hols, some weekends, some evenings....), it's not enough money for the role and responsibility tbh.
Ugh.

yoikes, remember you can go for it without being obliged to take it. You could always pull out of the application process, or refuse the job if it really doesn't feel right. Or, if they offered it to you, you could ask them for adjustments that might make it work for you better?

hello experts, can anyone recommend a nice vanillery fragrance / oil? I used to wear the body shop oil for fun and i recently got a bit nostalgic about it but it's no longer around.

If you're on a budget lush do one called vanillary. I'm not a fan of lush perfumes myself but it's popular.
There's also covent des minimes which you can get on Amazon. Very nice smoky vanilla.
There is also library of fragrance vanilla which again you can get on amazon.

There are many more £££££ vanilla scents and I'm sure my fellow perfumistas will be along soon eith suggestions :)

Yoikes unless the role would really satisfy you then the money being crap will irritate you since you have other obligations/obstacles.

Mona Di Orio Vanilla is absolutely stunning. I don't like Vanilla at all as it usually just amps up to sickly sugar on me. However the Mona version is dry and aromatic with lots of other spices. Totally unlike any other Vanilla I've ever tried.
@Yoikes that sounds tricky. Could you not apply and ask for higher pay? Or part time work? If it's something you're very interested in surely they would be amenable to a little negotiation?

Morning Perfumistas. Hope everyone is coping with the challenges of RL at the moment? Will try not to depress everyone by discussing here, save to mention we're sitting on quite a bit of ethanol, if hand wash doesn't come back onto our shelves (new uses for bad blind buys ).

Anyway speaking of blind buys, I picked up a little bottle of Zibeline and an even littleler mystery bottle of something else by Weil. The Zibeline was designed to go with fur coats in the 20s and is powdery and spicy. It has a medicinal citrus opening (back to Tyrozets and foot powder) but a Femme Fatale heart (think about a less overpowering and more sophisticated vintage Tabu). My little bottle isn't that old (guessing 70s), but hadn't been opened, and is gloriously fresh and quite lovely to wear.

By a process of elimination, I think the second (micro) bottle is Antilope. It has a similar vegetal/aldehyde opening to Madam Rochas (which smells borderline off, perhaps because the citrus notes are missing?). It shrugs that off quickly and opens out into a very sophisticated soft green, soft florals and hay combo, underpinned with some moss. It manages to be gentle and sophisticated. There are tiny flashes of something animalic peeping through at the edges (castoreum rather than civet?).

Mrs your comment about ethanol made me laugh. i also have a fair few bottles of vodka which i am considering adding to hair gel if my kids run out of the anti back they're currently carrying around !
