Who are you looking forward to seeing on the red carpet tonight? Who will be the best dressed? All will be revealed in a few hours time!

Meanwhile have a look at the 100 best Oscar dresses of all time, according to Vogue, or the best vintage looks. Is it hairstyles you're after? We've got those, and best makeup looks too!

Billy Porter is definitely spectacular. I can see a very toned down version of that skirt in Coast come wedding season.

whitershadeofpale · 09/02/2020 23:30

Not a fan of Laura Dern’s- the black is harsh against the pink and god knows what’s going on with the tassels. Looks like a lamp my Nan used to have.

whitershadeofpale · 09/02/2020 23:32

America Ferreira is very earth mother, but I like her dress and the colour suits her (not so much the pose)

whitershadeofpale · 09/02/2020 23:36

Beautiful dress and great about the sustainability but I don’t think it fits right on the busy (I don’t know the actress at all)

Thanks for the link people!

I quite like Olivia C's silhouette apart from the top gaudy buttons. She looked quite anxious.

Agree re. Laura Dern's tassels and Regina's wonky boobs.

I'm crap at recognising who's who!

peoplearepeople · 09/02/2020 23:38

I think I like Janelle Monae's dress. I'm not sure if it's quite right for the oscars, but I do like that again it's a little bit different. The head part reminds me of an old Kylie video. Grin

I was thinking the same people!

I like the scribbly suit and orange hair (The Irishman costume designer) Smile

Igottastartthinkingbee · 09/02/2020 23:42

Love Janelle Monae. She rocks as always. Whiter that actress has played two very different roles recently, in Booksmart and Unbelievable. She’s great in both!

whitershadeofpale · 09/02/2020 23:43

Olivia Colman’s hair looks great and really suits her.

peoplearepeople · 09/02/2020 23:44

@whitershadeofpale That's the actress from unbelievable I think. I really like the dress, but not a fan of her hair or make-up. She looks a bit washed out? I think that often lets a lot of them down. It seems to be the in thing now to turn up looking like you couldn't be bothered to do anything with your hair. Unless you are j-lo of course who often goes way ott with hair and make up and would often look nicer calming it down a bit. Grin
I was impressed with Laura derns hair tonight actually. The dress looked odd, but the rest was lovely.

Igottastartthinkingbee · 09/02/2020 23:44

Oh and Olivia Colman, whilst I love her as an actress and her blonde hair looks great, eeek her red carpet dresses are not my taste.

whitershadeofpale · 09/02/2020 23:48

I agree @Igota about OC’s style and @peoplearepeople about the hair and makeup, it often looks like they ran out of time! I saw a glimpse of Rebel Wilson on Instagram (only too half so far) and she looks great- so glam!

whitershadeofpale · 09/02/2020 23:50

Emilia Clarke’s outfit is alive my colour, but looks cheap and her hair looks like it’s got damp and flat in the shower.

peoplearepeople · 09/02/2020 23:51

Emilia Clarke. She always looks lovely because she's so smiley, but not sure about this colour on her. I love the bright pink lip though.

Such cringey posing

peoplearepeople · 09/02/2020 23:54

Oh, I so agree about the just got out the shower damp look! Why oh why do they do that. So frustrating. Grin

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 09/02/2020 23:58

I love Emilia Clarke's look. That colour is quite hard to pull off.

I might be in the minority but I don't like Rebel Wilson's make up one bit! Maybe the camera distance but her eyes seemed to disappear and her lipstick looked hideous!

whitershadeofpale · 09/02/2020 23:59

Sandra Oh is definitely bringing the glam! I can imagine Barbara Stanwick or Mae West rocking her look.

whitershadeofpale · 10/02/2020 00:08

Maya Rudolph looks awful.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 10/02/2020 00:09

Not sure about Maya Rudolph's sequinned drapey dress.

I couldn't tell who walked afterwards (dusky pink ensemble with split to navel and up the thigh, long wavy blonde hair). I liked the structure but hated the splits. Less is more.

EachandEveryone · 10/02/2020 00:10

Laura Dern looks so natural always. No botox there. I like the colour of her dress and I dont mind the dangly bits.

DandyDuchess · 10/02/2020 00:11

Sandra Oh looks amazing

I really like Olivia Colman’s too.

DandyDuchess · 10/02/2020 00:17

Ugh hate Maya Rudolph’s outfit, the only one I’ve actively disliked so far.
