I'm seeing them everywhere at the moment. Does this mean I can dig out the ones at the back of my wardrobe again??😊

I am in no way fashionable but bought some the other day, and I look so much better in them than the godawful skinny ones I was wearing. I opted for low-rise ones the first time round butdont think that's a look I can get a way with any more so I
am definitely wearing high-rise now, I'd blame it on baby weight but Dds 10.

pictish · 04/02/2020 22:12

Mine were Fatface (boring, sorry) - they’re a bit cropped as well. Just sit above my ankle. Brilliant with docs.

cushioncovers · 04/02/2020 22:13

Never stopped

Satsuma2 · 04/02/2020 22:14

I never stopped. They are more flattering for me than anything else.

LizzieSiddal · 04/02/2020 22:16

These are my cords

I feel I need to point out that I DO NOT wear them with shoes which look in any way, like the ones in that link 😂

pictish · 04/02/2020 22:16

Low rise - omg. Was there ever an article of clothing more unsuited to my physique than low rise jeans...I think not. Couldn’t do anything in them without mooning the world.

Remember the low rise and thong combo? How attractive that was.

Annasgirl · 04/02/2020 22:16

Oh no, they are so awful. I never looked good in them and could never figure out why - they just did not suit my shape, I am very petite and they always made my legs look short.

And the trousers - remind me of people who work in an office and can't be bothered to spend any money on work clothes. So it is black bootcut trousers and a white top.

I also agree they cannot be dressed down - they look really bad with trainers.

NomDeQwerty · 04/02/2020 22:17

Nope. Gap girlfriend Jean's all the way. Hardly any stretch. Thickish denim to smooth the lumps and bumps. Lovely.

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 04/02/2020 22:18

No. They just dont suit me. I never knew what shoes to wear with them and they made me feel frumpy last time they were in and I was in my early 20s then. I dont care how fashionable they are, I shall be sticking to my mum/skinny/relaxed boyfriend type jeans for the foreseeable future.

NomDeQwerty · 04/02/2020 22:18

jeans - wish we had an edit button

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 04/02/2020 22:25

Wider-legged jeans and a fitted top look so much better on me than skinnies and something boxy/drapey. I have been dying for them to come back in - have scarcely worn jeans in years and always felt lumpy in them when I did!

But yy to no longer being able for low-rise.

pictish · 04/02/2020 22:40

“I also agree they cannot be dressed down - they look really bad with trainers.“

No you see...they only look good with flat casual shoes. Sneakers, docs, Mary Janes etc. The heeled boot renders the frump. It’s the boot not the jean. Imo.

pictish · 04/02/2020 22:43

Apologies for ‘the boot’ and ‘the jean’. In my head I’m being funny not an actual wank.
I’m not used to contributing to style and beauty threads. It’s awkward.

Agree Pictish

Snowflake9 · 04/02/2020 22:59

Love them. I am petite and love to wear them with boots. Although my husband says they are hillbilly jeans. 😂😂

NightsOfCabiria · 04/02/2020 23:05

No. They look scruffy and stay wet if you go out in the rain. I dont like big wet flapping sails around my legs.

DrWAnker · 04/02/2020 23:06

Never stopped either.
I also wear skinny jeans. And harem pants. And culottes.
Don't give a shit..I'm a fashion renegade Wink.

turkeyontheplate · 04/02/2020 23:06

I never stopped Grin skinny jeans look bloody dreadful on me (in fact I think they look dreadful on everyone)

PickAChew · 04/02/2020 23:07

No. I have short legs and trip over fresh air. Flappy trousers are off limits.

Sporty99 · 04/02/2020 23:15

Yes, I'll be getting my flares out this spring too. Love em with a pair of wedges hidden under the bottom, makes your legs look longer.

I saw two girls wearing boot cut jeans with floral dresses over the top the other day.
The 90s are apparently back.

CorianderLord · 04/02/2020 23:33

I love them but DP hates me wearing them and says I look dowdy

BeTheHokeyMan · 04/02/2020 23:39

I never stopped wearing them 🙈 I've big heavy legs with huge calves and I look absolutely hideous in skinny/slim jeans. I've found high waisted super comfy bootcut jeans from simplybe in different washes and they are all I wear. Couldn't care less if they are seen as frumpy😁

Barracker · 04/02/2020 23:58

I never stopped, but so happy to be bona fide in again.

They suit those who are longedy of leg, if you can find XLong versions (can't be doing with flappy ankle sails).
I have surprisingly hefty calves which means I had to custom sew my own skinnies out of wider jeans anyway.

I'm actually very happy that a whole slew of stuff I never threw out is officially reappearing in the shops this year.

I am officially vintage.

DarkMutterings · 05/02/2020 00:11

What I don't get is why people only wear one style of jean. I have skinnies, girlfriend cut, straight and bootcut. What I wear depends on the day and what I'm doing, what shoes, what top. Most people don't wear just one dress style so why limit yourself on jeans?

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 05/02/2020 00:19

Wrong on every level.

Are you wearing bootcut jeans/trousers again?
