You have some lovely shoes @Purplecatshopaholic.

happytobemrsg · 10/02/2020 20:51

I agree with Ella, @Hellokittymania. I also think dark grey jeans would look lovely

Hellokittymania · 10/02/2020 21:17

Can I ask about another one? I’m a very petite size, I love this dress but it feels big… I don’t know if to everyone else how it looks? Is there something I can put on it to make it look better, like a belt, or a vest or something?

Hellokittymania · 10/02/2020 21:21

I wear a size 6, and even then things can be very very big.

Sickoffamilydrama · 10/02/2020 21:48

@Hellokittymania yes it does look a little bit big but could look cute with tights and boots.

So another early start I've lost a little weight and can now fit into this skirt a lot better, I still need to lose some more to be able to wear it with anything tucked in but I'll get there.
Jacket Boden
Jumper next in a long so the leaves actually fit and I don't get cold wrists!
Skirt Marks and Spencers
My necklace is from the silvery she does silver covered shells I've got a very pretty bracelet as well from her, I love the shapes of the shells they are beautiful in silver.

Should say early start tomorrow not wearing this to bed although that would save time

happytobemrsg · 10/02/2020 22:35

That does look a bit big on you @Hellokittymania. Have you tried it with a different colour belt?

Sooverthemill · 11/02/2020 08:47

It's so cold here, icy cold ( though no actual ice) so I'm going for an alpine look

Jumper: H&M
Jeans: jigsaw Richmond
Trainers: my new Boden high tops shearling lined ( but annoyingly DH WFH today and hasn't yet seen this new purchase)

Photo one is how I have jeans but should I unroll? Never worn high tops before and as a short arse not sure where they should sit best? Am sleeping in spare room so excuse total mess of stuff everywhere, had to empty DDs room for decorator.

@Hellokittymania the top is a great colour and I think would look good with any blue bottom, any grey bottom, black or ecru/white. So skirts of trousers depending on their shape. It looks like it has a peplum or frill?

The dress looks a bit big so a belt may well help. If you are able to ( or find someone) you could have it taken in to fit you better. Finding stuff that fits when you are petite is hard ( I'm 5'1 and a size 8 but when I was a 6 it was a nightmare.)

OublietteBravo · 11/02/2020 08:52

We have a really cold wind here. But it’s sunny - I’ve had to pull the blind down in the office to stop myself being blinded by the sun.

Day 2 of the trousers. This time with a shirt and brogues. My ankles are a bit cold - perhaps that’s why I don’t wear the trousers much. I also noticed that the don’t have belt loops - so perhaps that’s part of the reason too.

Shirt: Boden
Trousers: Boden
Shoes: Church’s

@Sooverthemill - the jeans/high top combination looks fabulous just as it is in the photo (if anything it makes your legs look longer). I really like it.

Sooverthemill · 11/02/2020 09:04

@Oubliette thanks! Love today's outfit, am in awe of those shoes. I would like to do your challenge but have so many clothes....

dellacucina · 11/02/2020 09:41

@happytobemrsg I really like the way you have worn THE Zara dress.

@Hellokittymania I actually think that top would look good with something like Oubliette's trousers. It appears to be flowy so would look good with a slim line. I agree the dress would be better with a belt. I'm imagining something wide.

Apologies for the weird pose, but the lighting here is bad and i had to angle myself to show the pattern on the skirt.

Jumper - Reiss from 2018 (I think)
Skirt - ancient J Crew Factory
Shoes - ancient Massimo Dutti
My usual Boots support hose Blush

@Sooverthemill I agree that the rolled jeans look good

@OublietteBravo perhaps this cold week isn't the best time to decide about the trousers? Would you be happier to wear them in the spring or summer when you wouldn't have to expose any part of your body to the hideous cold and rain?

Ellapaella · 11/02/2020 11:32

Everyone looking lovely. I'm at work but in the office this am and on a training afternoon so no uniform today. It's cold so wearing my Hush dress with big warm H&M cardigan. Mint velvet boots.

Hi everyone I’ve been absent for a few days as went away so didn’t take any photos.

@Sooverthemill I wear jeans with a slight turn up so they sit just above the high tops then add chunky socks to fill the gap if it’s a really cold day.

I’m not sure about my outfit today. Pinafore dress is Monki, top Jigsaw, boots Moda in Pelle. Think it’s too young a look for someone late 30s......

I just got this cosy jumper, it’s a bit big but I don’t care! I’m waiting on an order of long sleeve striped tops to go under it to arrive so have gone for white long sleeve tee today.

Jumper: White Stuff
Tee: Next
Jeans: Levi’s
Boots: somewhere cheapass like ShoeZone I think. They’ve been a bargain!

@OublietteBravo that shirt and shoes combo is epic! Looove it

Purplecatshopaholic · 11/02/2020 13:46

@KiteflyingKat that pinafore is lovely, and you look great in it.

Sooverthemill · 11/02/2020 14:13

@Igottastart what a fab colour jumper, really like it.
@kiteflyingkat. I like it but if you don't feel comfortable then you winter wear it

@Softpebbles love the dress!

Thanks for the high tops love, I love them remarkably DH asked 'are those converse then or are they vans?' I didn't know he knew any brand names!

Igottastartthinkingbee · 11/02/2020 14:21

Definitely roll up with high tops. They’re cute soover

Hellokittymania · 11/02/2020 15:06

Thank you everyone, I’m loving this thread. I will come up with some more outfits later. Since it is so cold today, I’m just wearing a sweatshirt from Primark with a high net T-shirt underneath. And some jeans. I put a cream high net shirt under the burgundy jumper. I think it looks OK…

Question though, I do have a high net shirt that is black and red check. Again it’s from Primark. Could you tell me what sort of things I could put over it?

Hellokittymania · 11/02/2020 15:09

I only have the white denim jacket, and that’s not very warm… I don’t know what color sweatshirt you could put over that… Or what you could pair with it…
