Argh so annoying @MerlinsButler 😡

Sickoffamilydrama · 09/02/2020 20:14

I now feel I've been neglectful not posting my scruffy jeans and old top I've been wearing all weekend to turn out! Got a pile of bags full of mostly kids clothes ready to go to charity which always feels good.

Tomorrow I have to leave for work at 5.30 so already got my outfit ready.
The suit is from Boden and blouse from Vero Moda but was free (we often pass unwanted clothes around the family).
I can not work out how the tie belt on the blouse looked it up online and they have it in an enormous bow. Which might try.

@Sickoffamilydrama I think it looks best tied in picture number three, the same way as tied in the picture with the jacket. Very nice outfit and I'm in awe of you planning the night before.

This family wardrobe swap is amazing! Are there a lot of ladies in the hand-me-down pool? That's a really nice top!

Sickoffamilydrama · 10/02/2020 06:57

Thanks @Ellapaella I've gone with that, I have to be organised otherwise I'd never leave on time and probably wake everyone up, at the moment I put my clothes on the radiator in the bathroom and have set the heating so in cold mornings I have lovely warm clothes to put on.

My sister and I do swap clothes often when we get fed up with an item it goes to the other one sometimes with the proviso that it mustn't be thrown out, we also borrow from each other. One of my aunts is a bit of a bargain hunter but also is a shopaholic every so often she sends round several black sacks of clothes.

I have often thought if I could get friends into doing it as well we could all benefit.

OublietteBravo · 10/02/2020 08:34

Good morning. Let me introduce you to my trousers for the week. They ought to be among my favorites - navy blue, slightly cropped, machine washable. And yet today is the first time I’ve worn them this year (and I only wore them twice in November/December). So this week I’m going to figure out whether they are worth keeping or not.

Jumper: Next
Trousers: Boden
Trainers: Phase Eight

Oops, I've not been very good at this over the weekend!

Saturday I spent all day in my jodhpurs as I spent most of the day at the yard. Sunday I went for ultimate comfort, as the weather was so terrible, and wore my beloved red dungarees. Today is a work day and I'm wearing an oversized knitted jumper dress thing I haven't worn since I was heavily pregnant, over a year ago now. This thread inspired me to get it back out again and, actually, I quite like it with a belt.

Dress - unbranded. It came from a warehouse sale type thing.
Belt - Lucy & Yak
Tights - M&S

I'll wear my DMs if I go out later.

@OublietteBravo I'll be watching with interest I don't wear my Boden slightly cropped trousers enough problem for me is cold ankles seen people wearing funky socks but haven't tried it yet.

Sooverthemill · 10/02/2020 10:04

@OublietteBravo they look great so yes I agree you should be reaching for them more. I wonder if it's the fear of cold ankles?
@Hoolajerry lovely hair!
@sickoffamilydrama I also like picture 3 best. I used to do the same as you when I had a commute! No way I could be up and out for the 6 o'clock train otherwise!

Every one else stay safe, still bloody windy here.
I can't take a photo today but am in a previous outfit which I had to choose last night as DD now in my room
Too: hush super soft navy top
Jeans: jigsaw Hampton boyfriend
Trainers: jigsaw Olivia

Waiting for plumber!

beenaharddaysnight · 10/02/2020 11:34

Oubliette which style are the Boden trousers please??

OublietteBravo · 10/02/2020 11:39

@beenaharddaysnight - they are these ones (consider sizing down - they come up big).

drina27 · 10/02/2020 11:49

@OublietteBravo

You have worn the trousers three times but are thinking of returning them? Really?

drina27 · 10/02/2020 11:50

Or do you mean sending them to the charity shop zone? Ah.

OublietteBravo · 10/02/2020 11:58

I mean sending them to the charity shop. Obviously Hmm. If I’m not going to wear them, there is no point in them taking up space in my wardrobe.

Sooverthemill · 10/02/2020 12:17

@Oubliette I have a similar pair in grey which I love whenever I remember to wear them ( thanks, will dig out) but for some reason they feel a bit 'smart' for my lifestyle. I'm going to see if I can wear them more this winter

Dozer · 10/02/2020 12:49

They look smart and look to fit well, why d’you think you haven’t worn them much?

I have got rid of almost all navy tops from my wardrobe, the colour does suit me but I rarely wore the items, found the colour depressing (but I like black!), wonder if for me it’s the association with school uniform! Was also never quite sure what other colours to wear it with, and my coats are almost all black so didn’t have a match.

dellacucina · 10/02/2020 15:08

Working from home again today.

M&S bodysuit
Ancient H&M skirt
Boots hose
Converse high tops

The white jacket and blue top or from a sauce and the jeans are from a place in Singapore… Anyway, could somebody maybe suggest some other combinations that I could put with my shirt as I’m visually impaired. Somebody suggested I wear white jeans and find a pair of black or brown boots.

Sorry, I’m using dictation but I was trying to say that online website a SOS

Ellapaella · 10/02/2020 18:22

@Hellokittymania it's a lovely top - you could wear it with lots of things as the colour is fairly versatile. It would look good with white jeans, pale denim or black trousers.

@OublietteBravo I really admire your challenge to wear the same item everyday of the week in a different way. I need to try this, I get bored of my clothes so quickly and feel the need for new stuff all the time and I really want to try and challenge this. A friend of mine always says if you can't imagine wearing something more than 3 times then it's probably not worth having.

Purplecatshopaholic · 10/02/2020 18:55

Buried under layers of outer wear today - snow, sleet, rain, the lot today! Baukjen cargo pants and baukjen longline waistcoat, with a white tee. Michael Kors metallic sling backs (for the office. Snow boots for outside!)

Purplecatshopaholic · 10/02/2020 19:01

Now with pic! It’s navy rather than black. Looking forward to hearing about your stitch fix experience @MerlinsButler

Purplecatshopaholic · 10/02/2020 19:02

Feck. Maybe now!
