I’m up for a designated sequin day!!

Ellapaella · 21/03/2020 18:38

Loving everyone photos today!!

Will one of you keep an eye on the thread now we have passed the 900 mark and start a new one before it reaches the end? I'm not getting much time for mumsnet and I really want it to carry on but I'm worried I might miss it.

I’ll keep an eye out @Ellapaella

Sickoffamilydrama · 21/03/2020 21:32

Don't think anyone will get excited about my outfit today, I didn't get the sequin memo...see MN isn't a hive mind 😉
I've been working out if we should partially shut our factory and doing a tidy and organise of the cupboards so we know what is left of the Brexit stash.

So I'm dressed and ready to wash DDs hair which takes an age ( in her bed) , sort out the freezer and argue with DH about panic buying (his, not mine,( @dellacucina I think he bought all the bacon. We have not had bacon in this house for about oh I don't know 10 years?)

So layers

Paris Sweatshirt: Lucy dodwell ( bought because it's the first weekend away DH and I ever had)
Tee: the spark company ( it's says' nevertheless she persisted')
Jeans: gap
Trainers: jigsaw

Sequins on Saturday?

@Sooverthemill aha! That solves the mystery. The shop was of course fully sold out of all bacon other than some kind of low fat bacon medallions (?), So I ended up going to a local off license that has many Polish products. They had a large hunk of precooked bacon which I will try. It's for braised red cabbage, so hopefully will work out ok!

I was going to suggest polish pork products, but I got waylaid! Glad you’ve found some. I’ve got a pack of polish cured pork belly which has a long date on it which we are keeping in case we get to the stage where we need to start making stews and soups with our dried lentils/chickpeas/mixed beans/mixed soup grains.

OublietteBravo · 22/03/2020 13:45

I’m a bit late posting today because I deliberately stayed in bed waiting for my DC to bring me breakfast. I ended up sitting in my dressing gown in the kitchen and having weak tea, cold toast and burnt pancakes. It was also freezing cold (as they’d opened both the window and the door to dissipate the smell of burnt pancakes).

Jumper: Boden
Jeans: Boden
High tops: Mint Velvet

Dungas again today. I'm going to offer advance warning that I'm probably going to wear dungas most of the time now. They're comfy and bright and make me happy.

Hope everyone has had a nice Mother's Day? We went for a walk in the glorious sunshine. It was lovely and we only saw a couple of people in the distance.

Dungas - Lucy & Yak
Top - Boden

I think I need some dungarees @toastfiend. They make me happy to look at!

Everyone looks lovely. Hope you’re all having a nice Mother’s Day.

I have makeup and a cardi and jeans on today. Which is more of an effort than I’ve made all week 😂

Miseryisabutterfly · 22/03/2020 14:32

Stuck in the house or not, I can still wear heels (Sam Edelman)

Sooverthemill · 22/03/2020 17:33

@purple just don't stab the dog with those heels!

Sorry @dellacucina. We haven't bought bacon since he convinced me it was carcinogenic but now that we may starve to death ( like hell we will) it is now an essential, to go with walnut whips and pease pudding. But it's his last trip out for a while ( apart from taking me to hospital tomorrow)

Shannith · 22/03/2020 19:15

Yes to sequins on Saturday! Or at least something completely frivolous.

Just realised I didn't post my outfit today as was setting up DDs home office. (Desk for school work)

It wasn't very exciting. C- for effort.

@happytibemrsg PND is horrible. Mine was not diagnosed for ages. You have my sympathy. You always look fantastic if that helps?

Sooverthemill · 22/03/2020 19:21

@happytobemrsg I missed that up above. I'm so sorry. PND is horrible. Stay well and do come in and vent if you need to. These are anxious times.

Sickoffamilydrama · 22/03/2020 19:53

Not posted today as been gardening in a fleece and Jeans.
I may be in PJs a lot have developed a cough and a bit of temperature hopefully it's not Corona ☣️ but will be on lockdown for 14 days now.

happytobemrsg · 22/03/2020 20:48

Thanks everyone. It was extremely tough first time around, I’m very grateful it’s no where near as bad this time.

I’m up for sequin Saturdays! I’ve got 2 sequin midi skirts, a sequin mini dress & a sequin jumper I’m ready to rock!!

happytobemrsg · 22/03/2020 20:48

I hope it’s not the virus @Sickoffamilydrama Flowers

Sickoffamilydrama · 22/03/2020 21:26

Thanks I'm hoping it isn't but not much I can do if it is 🤷‍♀️

OublietteBravo · 23/03/2020 08:40

I have (virtual) meetings for most of the day. So I am wearing a dress. Admittedly over thermal base layers - my house is really rather cold. The dress isn’t from my wardrobe - it’s new. I bought it about 3 weeks ago when everything was still normal.

Dress: Warehouse
Thermal top/leggings: M&S
Belt: Mint Velvet
Boots: Doc Martens

Insertdeadcatsnamehere · 23/03/2020 10:13

Hi, can I join? Looking at all your lovely clothes is just about keeping me sane. Wearing a Seasalt top and Lucy and Yak dungarees today to set up my home office (with very little help from toddler!).

happytobemrsg · 23/03/2020 10:39

I love your dress @OublietteBravo. I’ve been thinking about wearing a dress at home but I have two young DC & not sure it’ll be practical. Maybe a work day.

Welcome @Insertdeadcatsnamehere! We are big fans of L&Y on this thread.

Today’s outfit- very comfy but still not “just joggers”.

Jumper: Only (I have these in 5 colours, they are perfect thin knits)
Trousers: Lucy & Yak
Belt: Lucy & Yak
Necklace: Oliver Bonas

Sooverthemill · 23/03/2020 11:22

Dressed for biopsy today of a slightly different place (not looking forward to it)
Dress: hush susanna ( brilliant dress)
Jumper: hush Beatrice
Trainers: jigsaw

Sorry no photo.

It's so sunny may not bother with a coat as it's such a hassle and I'm not sure if DH will be allowed into clinic this time. Son coming to sit fro DD and he has to stay downstairs and only go to her if she's sick or worse. He hasn't been distancing and I'm really not pleased with him. But we have no one else at all to ask.
