I’m defaulting to jeans and a shirt rather than jeans and a jumper. I take this as a sign that Spring is on the way.

Shirt: Boden
Belt: Mint Velvet
Jeans: Gap
Trainers: Jigsaw

I am not generally a Boden fan, but you have some great pieces from there @OublietteBravo

Purplecatshopaholic · 13/03/2020 09:21

Having a few days off, then working from home next week (and possibly for the foreseeable!), so leggings it is for now!

Sooverthemill · 13/03/2020 09:23

@OublietteBravo it is! No rain yesterday whatsoever.

Still going for comfy as I'm still not feeling great

Too: autograph (2014 I think)
Trousers: hush
Shoes: Boden

@purple Boden forms 60% of my wardrobe basics! They have some very good quality basics and if you avoid the 'quirky' they also have some classic prints. I'm still wearing Boden stuff from the 2000s

@Ellapaella love the skirt outfit!

I'm wearing another new clearance ASOS dress. It was sunny when I woke up and I thought it would fit the weather!

Earrings are some old ones my mum didn't want anymore.

The boots are also new, from Jones the Bootmaker. I fear it may look a bit Anne Shirley, but at least it's comfortable.

Love the dress and boots @dellacucina, and your shirt is amazing @OublietteBravo.

This thread has had a good effect on me as I initially chucked on old leggings and a hoodie this morning, before feeling bad and changing! 😂

Dino pinafore - Run & Fly
Top - Boden
Tights - M&S

Will wear with DMs when we go out later.

@dellacucina beautiful outfit, love the boots and the colours in the dress!

@toastfiend love the outfit, such a lovely, sunny yellow!

@Ellapaella the boots arrived today and they were too small, way too tight on the top, so again I think we’ve pretty much got identical feet (I think you’re a size 7 too? IIRC from hushistas threads and conversations in regards to espadrille wedges...). Luckily they still had the size up in stock so I’ve ordered those. Also just realised we’re not really supposed to be talking about new purchases on this thread, oops!

Ninkanink · 13/03/2020 17:35

Love the colours in your shirt, @OublietteBravo!

Ellapaella · 13/03/2020 22:37

@Ninkanink if Uggs are no good then FatFace and Celtic and Co both do a good alternative that are much better for our kind of hooves!

Ninkanink · 13/03/2020 23:44

Thanks @Ellapaella! I’m hopeful that the size 40 will be perfect. I sized down to begin with because the guide said 39 was equivalent to 6.5 which often fits me in suede. Fingers crossed!

If they don’t fit then it isn’t meant to be and I will be happy that I’ve saved the money.

Ellapaella · 14/03/2020 08:40

Morning all. I've posted this outfit before but this is what I'll be wearing today. Not that I am doing anything exciting, we've decided to avoid large indoor gatherings so just a run, walk on the beach with dogs and kids and maybe a bike ride.
Lots of sales going on at the moment but I seem to have lost my mojo - no spend seems to be working as the less I buy the less I want to!
Also being in between seasons helps.

Good luck @Ninkanink with the boots.
@Ellapaella nice outfit!
@toastfiend that's what we're here for!

New purchase on show today but preordered ages ago and I'm very pleased with it. Looking at what I've been wearing this month I'm definitely trying to move into spring! Also ordered a dress in hush archive sale ( I would never buy them full price) and some jeans from Baukjen outlet to replace the jigsaw skinnies which are in their last legs. Will send both back if not 100%. We've not been having a good week here health wise ( dog, DD, me) and hoping the weekend brings us some light!. To us all, it's a bit miserable out there

Sweatshirt: Lucy dodwell
Jeans: hush
Trainers: Stan Smith
Underneath is a FWP by RAE 'Rosé' tee for if it warms up

OublietteBravo · 14/03/2020 10:58

I was cold wearing my shirt yesterday, so today I’m back in jeans and a jumper again. Come on spring - I’d really like a bit of warmth.

Jumper: Next
Jeans: Boden
Trainers: Clarks

We’ve all been told to WFH until further notice (the email said at least until Easter), so I suspect my outfits are going to be considerably more casual for a bit.

Miseryisabutterfly · 14/03/2020 20:19

@Hoolajerry you look great. Sorry you’ve been feeling bad about yourself.

I’m in Ireland on lockdown and it’s tempting to stay in pyjamas/loungewear all day but I think I need to dress as I would have for my own morale. Using you all as an inspiration! It seems quiet here, I understand given the current situation but might perk people up to join in.

Ellapaella · 15/03/2020 08:17

@Miseryisabutterfly I can understand being tempted to stay in lounge wear all day. To be honest since the middle of last week I've been so distracted by the news that I haven't thought much at all about clothes. Like you I'm making an effort when I have to go out but I am avoiding going anywhere other than work, taking kids to school and walking the dog (I'm not self isolating just taking a few precautions).

OP posts:
dellacucina · 15/03/2020 08:35

@Miseryisabutterfly and @Ellapaella the whole situation is so strange and discomfitting, isn't it? I had to run some errands yesterday so changed out of lounge wear. In the spirit of the thread and carrying on as normal, here's a photo, though it's quite a boring outfit.

Stitch Fix jumper
Asos leggings
Jones the Bootmaker boots

The health situation is complete crap with so much conflicting 'advice' about what to do it's enough to drive anyone inside. I basically never go out ( once a month in the evening as a regular thing when DD well enough and very very occasionally daytime with DH for a coffee if we can get a sitter or if I have a medical appointment ( like this week) but I always dress up unless I am ill myself. For the year I was having treatment for cancer I wore 2 x pairs of leggings and 3 x jersey tunics because I couldn't bear anything else on my sore skin. Then when I had almost recovered, DD got life threateningly I'll ( and is still chronically ill hence me being housebound) and Friday the first year I wore those same depressing clothes and then when I'd lost a bit of steroid weight one pair of M& S jeans with a couple of tees.2 years on and I was stuck living in a nursing home with her ( I had to do her feeding and toileting as they didn't have enough staff) and I got to see a few people in the cafe next door looking stylish and I decided I had to sort myself out. Once we got back home, I started doing yoga and eating healthily. So then I started to dress like I had somewhere to go every day. It does me no end of good even when I'm sitting in DDs dark room or I open the door to the postman ( who is the main beneficiary of my online shopping habit). Dressing in 'nice' things every day and spending brain power in thinking about different ways to wear stuff doesn't so, e any of my problems but it does make me feel better and lifts my spirits and definitely improves my mental health which is rocky at the best of times, , there's nit a day when I go in first thing to my DDs room and fear I may find she has died in her sleep. There's not a day when I dint think that may be for the best. So my advice FWIW is , don't slob around but dress in something nice, bung on some makeup if you usually do and dance around your kitchen.

Sooverthemill · 15/03/2020 09:18

Oh my outfit today is actually a bit dull! But comfy as I'm not feeling very well myself ( just my ongoing health issue, nothing else). And I'm even using an old photo, sorry

Soover good advice in these uncertain times

toastfiend · 15/03/2020 10:27

Dressed for dog walking with DS today.

Jeans - M&S, ancient
Top - Yaya, my DM bought it for me when I was pregnant. It's enormous on me now, but super soft and comfy and good when DS is in the sling as the extra material means it doesn't ride up too far under the straps.

Worn with Aigle wellies (v glamorous! 😂) and a tweed coat if it's windy when we get out there. So not exactly hugely stylish, but not holey old leggings and a fleece. I feel like this thread is definitely having a good effect on me!
