Ok lovelies, what do you think of this outfit? I pulled this v old Vivienne W dress out of the wardrobe and paired it with a cashmere cardigan (prob JL), and Michael Kors shoes. Thought it worked, but looking again I think I look a bit twee! In trying to go a bit neutral I have maybe gone too far? An injection of colour maybe? The cardigan or/and shoes?

@purple it's a nice outfit but kind of looks like you're going to church! So it's very safe ( I am not intending to be rude). Colourful cardigan/jacket might make it more zingy?

I'm as close to pyjamas as you can be in elasticated trousers still! DH has stayed wfh to help out with DD as I'm still crap

Top: hush
Trousers: hush
Trainers: dune

@Purplecatshopaholic - I love the dress and the shoes. An injection of colour via a cardigan/jacket/scarf would probably lift the overall look. But there’s nothing wrong with it - it’s just very safe (in a way that your outfits aren’t usually). I hope that makes sense. And doesn’t sound mean - it’s just that I love your usual look.

Purplecatshopaholic · 11/03/2020 09:42

Thanks @Sooverthemill and @OublietteBravo, you are spot on. Too safe! Not my usual look at all - that’s probably why I just don’t feel On It today! Need to jazz things up tomorrow, lol

Spam88 · 11/03/2020 09:46

I'd agree purple it looks perfectly nice but doesn't have much oomph about it. The dress is lovely but maybe go brighter or darker with the accessories?

Been trying not to wear jeans every day...

Stripey dress - H&M
Jumper - Primark
This is what I'm wearing today and I actually feel like I look alright for a change! It's crying out for a necklace but the baby will only use it as a weapon against me...

Denim dress - Tesco
Cardi - primark

Tights are plum woolly ones from H&M although the colour doesn't show up very well in the pictures.

@Purplecatshopaholic I agree - my first thought was that it is a nice outfit (because it is), but then your question made me see it a bit differently iyswim. I think a turquoise cardigan could be nice with it.

@Spam88 those are great casual outfits!

Today I'm wearing ancient J Crew blouse and skirt and Massimo Dutti shoes. I don't think anything is newer than 5 years old (and all are probably older!)

A bit under the weather today so going for cozy.
Green jumper New look
Mint velvet Dress

Realised I don't have any comfy warm trousers so adding them to my mental shopping list.

Lovely dress @Sickoffamilydrama. It’s a great shape on you.

Great outfit today @dellacucina - I especially like the shoes.

@Spam88 - I like the denim dress a lot. Perhaps I should venture to Tesco one day. (It’s the other side of town, so I tend to only ever bother with Sainsbury’s).

Sickoffamilydrama · 11/03/2020 21:29

Thanks @OublietteBravo it was a hand me down that I would never have looked at/bought but I actually love it.

Sooverthemill · 12/03/2020 08:25

Loving the outfits @dellacucina you really make me miss working!

Still in soft clothes, still have hot pack in background! Isn't the sunshine lovely? God I've missed the sun! I hope everyone is keeping well

Top: hush
trousers: hush ( hush does do comfy clothes exceedingly well)
Trainers: jigsaw

Casual ish
Seasalt top
Next utility trousers (annoyingly too big around waist but tight on thighs, would be great for an apple shape!)
These Clarks boots

Back to the office after yesterday’s WFH day (all the IT worked perfectly for me). I’m still not really sure what colour shoes I should be wearing with an aubergine-coloured outfit. I’ve gone with black, but would grey or navy be better?

Blouse: Hobbs
Trousers: Hobbs
Shoes: Clarks

At a work event today.

Skirt - Karen Millen, never worn before but I've had it for years. It's always been too tight as I put quite a lot of weight on (and kept it on) right after I bought it, so I'm delighted to find that it fits now.
Shirt - Topshop, via eBay
Boots - River Island, very old
Tights - M&S

I did have my suit jacket in case everyone had turned up in business dress, but it's a bit more casual, so no jacket. Pink check Boden coat on when outside.

Excuse the mess. I was racing to get out the door in time so threw clothes on and ran, scattering clothes and shoes in my wake.

Like the aubergine Oubliette, whilst I get what your saying the black shoes don't clash and are very neutral if you went with another colour then you might have a funny mismatch with any coat you wear or bag, black kind of fades into the background.
I'm in the office today to
Shirt from Aldi/Lidl
Dress next
Boots Ecco
Blazer Boden

The blazer doesn't really work I could do with a more fitted one but needs must and it's better when I do it up.

Hi all!! Lovely outfits as usual. 🌷

Just popping in to quickly ask do any of you have footwear from Ugg? Not the slippers...I’ve ordered some boots and sized down as per their sizing guideline but I’m worried they won’t fit as I’ve got quite wide feet. Wondered if any of you know if they tend to come up big/small/true to size?

Sooverthemill · 12/03/2020 11:26

@nink I have a pair of old ugg boots ( biker style leather sheepskin lined) and I bought my normal size (4 but which is always marked as 4.5 on the box). They fit fine

Ninkanink · 12/03/2020 11:33

Oh no I think the pair I ordered will be too small then. 😭😭 it was such a good price. And I got a further 25% off too. Ah well, I wasn’t really supposed to buy them anyway...

Ninkanink · 12/03/2020 11:38

Ah wait, @Sooverthemill do you happen to have any timberlands? If so are they comparable in sizing?

FuckingHateRats · 12/03/2020 12:30

Purplecatshopaholic I really like the dress but wonder about a darker cardigan?

spam88 I love the denim dress. Really lovely.

Toastfiend the skirt is fantastic. It's weird seeing you all formal when in my head you're the queen of casual dungarees!

Today am very dull in black ASOS jeans, ASOS burgandy flats and a Zara blouse. I think on reflection I prefer the half tucked in look.

Sooverthemill · 12/03/2020 13:56

@Ninkanink no I don't have any timberlands. Sorry

Sooverthemill · 12/03/2020 13:57

@Ninkanink I don't especially like my Uggs but as they are waterproof they are incredibly useful. I had a pair of Ugg style Celtic and co boots many years ago which were warm but not good in wet weather

Ninkanink · 12/03/2020 13:59

Yes, these are waterproof too which would be useful. Ah well, I’ll have to wait and see - I don’t strictly need them so if I have to send them back it’ll just be too bad. Fingers crossed though.

@Ninkanink I had a pair of uggs until my dog chewed them to bits! I have wide feet and high arches and found them very tight over the top of my foot.
