Thank you everyone for the comments on my dress yesterday - I really enjoyed wearing it if that doesn't sound too daft! And thank you @happytobemrsg and others who've worn belts with their long dresses, I wouldn't have thought of adding it if it wasn't for this thread.
I had a fab day, and did buy some clothes (2 tops) but was much more specific about what I needed than I would have been in the past, and only bought things I really loved. I also avoided buying 'more of the same' and choosing things similar to what I already have because I like them - which is something I've done a lot in the past. Stylebook and this thread definitely helped with that 
I also tried on the hush harems which @Ellapaella always looks so great in. Annoyingly they didn't have the size I need in the colour I wanted in John Lewis, and on the hush website they've now changed the sizing from XS, S, M etc (which I tried on) to 6, 8, 10, etc. I've emailed them to ask which size I should order.
@dellacucina I think the oversized jumper could look good with leggings on you. Love the skirt.
