Hahaha there is, at one point we had a family of rats move underneath the cupboards in our kitchen via a hole we did not know existed. GRIM. Thankfully a thing of the past but have never changed names.

Today I was wearing:
Topshop Jamie jeans (my ultimate fave jean fit)
M&S basic fitted 3/4 t-shirt
H&M cream cardigan
M&S leather star trainers in white (I have the black pair too, I find them so useful and versatile)

Loving the teal too @cathyandclare I agree the blouse could look pretty in spring but just doesn't fit me that well or is quite my style as it was free it is pointless keeping it.

Sooverthemill · 22/02/2020 19:53

@FuckingHateRats welcome! And @StepAwayFromTheChoc too.

Sickoffamilydrama · 22/02/2020 20:09

Love the cardigan @FuckingHateRats We had similar rat problem in my childhood home they got in from the garage into the house but have to say as pets they are great so intelligent and interactive. My daughters have a couple at the moment.

bigeegit · 23/02/2020 00:40

@FuckingHateRats great outfit, really love that cardigan and those shoes. Ended up changing (only slightly) for the second half of the day, still super casual. New addition from lk Bennett sweater, birthday gift today. It's a wool/cashmere mix and very soft! River Island (2nd hand depop), boots, bag and coat as earlier!

Welcome @FuckingHateRats - great cardi!

PalacePaper · 23/02/2020 08:32

@dellacucina love your black skirt, looks fantastic on you.

Welcome @StepAwayFromTheChoc and @FuckingHateRats Love your cardigan and trainers @FuckingHateRats

@CathyandClare I always think your clothes are beautiful. I especially like your all saints dress.

@bigeegit how was your shopping trip?! I'm meeting up with friends next week for shopping and lunch, and I feel I've got a much clearer idea of what items and styles I want to look for thanks to this thread - thank you everybody for sharing all your outfits, I get lots of inspiration from you all

Here's yesterday's outfit - Joules dress, M&S thermal top and DMs. I changed into a dress from M&S in the evening but didn't take a photo.

Don't feed 1forall74 - I can 100% guarantee she won't post any outfits of her own.

Everyone looks lovely (as always) - I've had a busy week so not contributed much and have basically been wearing the same old jeans and trainers most of the week.

Ellapaella · 23/02/2020 08:43

@PalacePaper I love your DM's - what style are they?

OP posts:
PalacePaper · 23/02/2020 09:11

Thank you @Ellapaella - they're the Aimilita here: www.drmartens.com/uk/en_gb/p/25001601

Mine are last years so have a different tartan lining but I never wear them folded down. They're softer than other DMs so no breaking in required! I have them in black as well and wear them both loads.

Purplecatshopaholic · 23/02/2020 09:18

I really like that dress @PalacePaper, you could dress that up or down, so versatile.
Well, i didn’t make lunch yesterday after all - weather was so bad only a heavy duty snow suit would have been the order of the day, and I don’t do snow!
Leggings at the moment (colourful, defo not drab, lol), so have saved you a pic - might post later. Have a great day all

Sooverthemill · 23/02/2020 09:28

Ooh did we have a troll? That must mean we are very important.

@Ellapaella sound advice. Hope you 'slobby' week was enjoyable though I imagine you rocked even the same jeans and jumper each day.

Who had snow? We have just had relentless rain really horrid wet and the digs and cats are blaming me.

Waiting for Spring , despairing of ever being able to wear my nice summer wardrobe.

Jumper: Baukjen AW 2019
Jeans: hush really old
Shoes: Boden
Apologies for towel behind me, thought I'd kicked it out of view!

@PalacePaper DMs seem to be having a bit of a moment! While shopping yesterday I heard 3 separate groups of young women talking about their DM's or a new pair they want, some were planning to buy older pairs on ebay. I'm hoping it's due to an interest in sustainable living and buying better quality.

My shopping trip was fun! I had an idea of what I wanted, I opened my style app to check what clothes I have at home to make sure whatever I picked up would go with what I already had. So I picked up a basic grey 100% cotton cardigan from oasis and that Lk Bennett sweater. The sweater cost much more than I normally would spend on a top but it fit so well, it is 91% wool, 9% cashmere, and went with all the bottoms in my wardrobe, including leggings as it's just long enough. I looked at other tops which cost the same if not more and was surprised at the amount of polyester for the price.

Anyway, today's outfit is basic enough. Vero moda pants (2nd hand depop), vila t shirt, my new grey cardigan, and the usual boots and outerwear.

FuckingHateRats · 23/02/2020 11:01

bigeegit I LOVE that polo neck jumper. It will go with so much!

Today I'm wearing a denim skirt to decide whether or not to keep it... My husband raised his eyebrow at the hemline haha, and I am debating whether it is too short for my advancing years.

My daughter and I went to a local car boot sale but it was freezing so we've ran inside for a coffee and a mooch about the shops. I was very restrained but she got a denim pinafore dress which is very sweet. She is 10 and shopping in a size 6 in H&M?!

Today am wearing:
Trainers: M&S
Denim mini : Topshop
Fitted blue 3/4 t-shirt: M&S (exact same as yesterday, different colour only)
Cowl neck black jumper: H&M
Duster coat: H&M
Staple gold twist hoops from ASOS I think.

I seem to have reached the point where I don’t actually want to buy anything new. Although I think I find A/W styles are more me than S/S styles, so perhaps this isn’t too surprising.

I wore today’s outfit 2 weeks ago and I feel strangely guilty for rewearing it so soon. I think it is fair to say that this thread has affected the way I think about what I wear.

Jumper: Hush (sale)
Leggings: Mint Velvet
Boots: Doc Martens

OublietteBravo · 23/02/2020 11:15

I like the denim skirt on you @FuckingHateRats - the length wouldn’t bother me - I’d happily wear it (and I’m 44).

Purplecatshopaholic · 23/02/2020 11:18

Defo think you rock that skirt @FuckingHateRats

Sickoffamilydrama · 23/02/2020 12:17

Yes definitely keep the skirt @FuckingHateRats
So I'm not doing much just hanging round the house organising then will take me eldest to meet her friends (it's to secluded to walk on her own).

So this is where I fail in the style stakes I can not do really casual trouser/jeans outfits without feeling a little blaaaaa 🙍 or maybe I just need better casual outfits.

Sooverthemill · 23/02/2020 13:43

@OublietteBravo oh you are a better person than me! I've bought jeans and a couple of tops, all in the sale. Reasonably classic so should last a long time.

@FuckingHateRats I like the skirt, looks fab
@Sickoffamilydrama gorgeous colour jumper

Ellapaella · 23/02/2020 13:56

@FuckingHateRats I love the denim skirt, I am thinking of getting one as I'm a bit fed up of jeans but a denim skirt is just as versatile really.
