Oh & I wondered about the colours @happytobemrsg because I’m sure I’m a winter & I’m drawn towards winter colours, I’m not a fan of oranges, yellows, browns for clothes for me. I just wondered whether people are naturally drawn to what suits them?
Grey is hard to avoid as it’s fashionable at the moment so everywhere!

Trying on my new dress

Thanks @toastfiend Grin

So many gorgeous outfits loving the dresses @happytobemrsg
@ClientQueen love the shape of that dress I don't particularly like stripes weird I know but like that one.

So didn't get to go to the charity shops today which is probably a good thing as not entirely keeping to the theme of the thread I bought a dress yesterday in fairness it was £7. So obviously today I had to wear it, it's a little tight but will encourage me to keep with my healthy eating and exercise.

Jacket M&S
Dress Next
Tights Next (actually almost as good as M&S)
Boots Ecco

I’ve been eyeing the grey ones too @KiteflyingKat. The tops I have to go with whatever pair I buy are black, ivory, forest green, moss green & petrol blue. I think black would suit best but don’t feel very “Spring”. Maybe @toastfiend can tell us how they wash & whether they need ironing?

I wonder if you are naturally drawn to certain colours but don’t know why. I certainly got all my shape stuff wrong - I never wore high waisted or v necks but I see now how well they suit me.

Sickoffamilydrama · 13/02/2020 21:47

Early start tomorrow so wearing this, the dress was to tight so have barely worn it but realised how much weight I've lost so gave it a try Its still not perfect if I stand sideways but the jacket will cover it.

Jacket Boden yes I wear this to death
Dress eBay bargain originally from next
Boots Ecco

@Sickoffamilydrama you look great!

toastfiend · 13/02/2020 22:29

@happytobemrsg and @KiteflyingKat they wash well and really soften up after a couple of washes. I do mine on a 20 degree cotton wash and then hang up to dry. Don't tumble dry them or dry them on a radiator or anything as they'll shrink. I think they probably should be ironed really, but I just hang mine up and wear them as is and they look fine. I do wear mine quite slouchy, though!

Sickoffamilydrama · 14/02/2020 07:08

Thanks @happytobemrsg ☺️

KiteflyingKat · 14/02/2020 07:33

The Lucy and yak trousers look really good. Sadly I think I'm too short for that look!

I'm off to a spa today (what a treat!) so will be wearing a swimming costume Smile but starting the day in white stuff skirt and jumper from tk Maxx. The neckline on the jumper sits a bit oddly, but I love it anyway!

Love jumper (Hush)
Ruched skirt (Hush)

Day 5. With heels (because I have a meeting this afternoon), and an ancient tank top (from 2006). It’s definitely easier to wear the same trousers for a week than the same dress for a week.

Tank top: Gap
Shirt: Uniqlo
Trousers: Boden
Shoes: Clarks

@della first or second Boots I reckon! Love the skirt

MerlinsButler · 14/02/2020 13:17

Loving all the outfits here. I'm just getting over my cold so no outfits from me. Though if I feel up to it may pop out for drinks this evening.

Confession - I kept all my stitchbox ! I'm really not doing well at shopping my wardrobe lol. I have sent the blazer back to switch to a 12 and now I'm annoyed coz I can't wear it.

@Oubliettebravo I am living your one item 5 days posts. Definitely inspired me for my new trousers.

@Sooverthemill thanks. A new stitchbox may arrive sooner rather than later. You can share my thrills vicariously any time.

@dellacucina love that skirt with all the boots! I think I like the first ones best.

MerlinsButler · 14/02/2020 13:20

@KitefkyingKate I had my colours done years ago and she said I was Dark Winter. So lots of jewel / bright colours.

My consultant did say that I could wear rich dark greys which was handy as 90% of my wardrobe was grey. Weirdly the outfits I'd taken For her to review were all in the colour palette eg charcoal, teal, purple etc and I don't own anything brown or mustard etc so maybe you do instinctively know.

Sickoffamilydrama · 14/02/2020 13:51

Thanks @OublietteBravo loving the tank top I've never actually owned one! Starting to regret wearing the dress today as it's freezing definitely should have gone for sleeves today!

toastfiend · 14/02/2020 16:18

Love your skirt @dellacucina and the Alexas look great @KiteflyingKat!

I was wearing my loudest and most colourful dungas earlier, but remembered I hsd an appointment with a financial advisor to talk about pensions and thought I should probably make an effort to look at least a bit like a grown up, so I got changed. I'm home now and back in my dungas. They're wonderfully comfy and I can't wear long, swishy skirts at home currently as 7 puppies attach themselves to the hem and come along for the ride whenever I walk into the kitchen. 😂

"Grown-Up" Outfit:

Pleated, sparkly skirt - Boden, bargain from the clearance sale. I like it but it needs taking in so it sits on my waist more as it tends to slip down a bit and it's not very flattering then.
Top - Boden, sale again
Jumper - M&S, ancient, was my Mum's before mine
Boots - Fairfax & Favor

Overgrown Toddler Outfit:

Dungas - Lucy & Yak
Top - Boden, as above.

Staying in my dungas now. We're going round to friends' later and I'll wear my DMs with them then. For now, I'm loving life in my fluffy slippers!

I love the outfits

Is the aim to try and wear what you have and not buy new stuff?

Ellapaella · 14/02/2020 16:54

@dellacucina I love your leather skirt and DM style boots combo

Ellapaella · 14/02/2020 16:56

Kat the trousers are lovely - do you have a link? And what's the sizing like? I think I need a pair of those for spring/summer!

KiteflyingKat · 14/02/2020 18:14

Hope you enjoyed the spa @PalacePaper

@dellacucina - first boots

@MerlinsButler how much is the StitchBox, if you don’t mind me asking? Interesting about the colours analysis.

@toastfiend love your outfits

Hi @woodhill yes the aim is kind of to make outfits from what we already have, but some of us struggle with the temptation ..... Grin

@Ellapaella here lucyandyak.com/products/copy-of-organic-alexa-in-grey-high-waisted-trousers?variant=20532312735847

I got size Small 30 leg & I’m 5”7 size 10ish.
I think you’re a similar size to me so small would definitely fit you, it’s just a question of whether you prefer a baggier look. But the waistband is massively stretchy so you’d definitely be fine with the small.

Purplecatshopaholic · 14/02/2020 19:42

Love those shoes @OublietteBravo. Tank top too - I have one ‘somewhere’, must dig it out! Lunch with friends tomorrow- fancy wearing leather leggings but defo weather dependent...
