Thanks @toastfiend I'll have to see if I can find out when the next one is.

@KiteflyingKat wishing I was a size 8 now so I could go for a look, still I'm in a posh area tomorrow so will take a little look in the charity shops then although they've cottoned on to the cost and were charging £35 for a Jaeger coat when I was there last. I don't mind them making as much money as possible but I did think that was a bit steep.

I think it's OK to shop our wardrobes and make purchases that are conscious instead of buying for the sake of it, I'm trying to buy much more second hand to be environmentally friendly.

toastfiend · 12/02/2020 21:24

@sickoffamilydrama here's the link to the clearance salea list. 😊 www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/clearance-sales

PalacePaper · 13/02/2020 07:43

Everyone looking lovely as always Smile @Kiteflyingkat I love the pinafore dress, gorgeous.

Not feeling inspired today so I'm wearing jeans from M&S and jumper from Uniqlo, with thermal top from M&S underneath because it's been so cold 🥶

Yesterday was dress from Boden and fluffy cardigan from warehouse - it's all about insulation for me this week!

Still feeling bloated and gross so comfort is definitely the order of the day here. I have shopped my wardrobe today as I've never worn this pinafore before. It was one my DM bought and decided didn't suit her, wasn't sure if it was my thing so it's been sitting in my wardrobe unworn for months but quite like it with the belt, think it'll get a lot more wear now. Will wear my new coat from the Boden sale with it when I go out.

Top - Duns of Sweden
Pinafore - Brora
Belt - Lucy & Yak
Boots - DMs

@toastfiend loving your work, that coat rocks!

Purplecatshopaholic · 13/02/2020 09:53

Miserable day here again. Wearing mostly black. Cigarette pants and cashmere sweater with a lilac pashmina and cheeky Mary Janes in a pale pink

Really lovely outfits everyone Smile

I haven't posted for a while but will try and take some photos later.

OublietteBravo · 13/02/2020 10:26

Day 4. With and without grown-up shoes. (I don’t think I really like the brown ankle boots - perhaps it’s time for them to go). No meetings scheduled today, so I can probably stick with the high tops.

Jumper: Warehouse
Trousers: Boden
Boots: Carvela
High tops: Mint Velvet

Lovely coat @toastfiend.

@Oubliette I think those high tops look good but if you dont love them.... the boots look great with the trousers too. Inspiration for my new trousers.

dellacucina · 13/02/2020 10:46

J Crew mom jeans
M&S cashmere jumper
Gola trainers

Gorgeous outfits ladies.

Your leather coat is amazing @cathyandclare

I love the dress with the belt @toastfiend. Is that your L&Y belt? It looks super versatile. I’m really tempted by the belt & Alexa trousers but wondering if the volume will be too much. I have leather joggers which are a similar shape but a bit less volume which I love

Very impressed with your Stitchfix box @MerlinsButler. I can see how it could become quite addictive so I’m not surprised you’ve changed the frequency to 2 months!!

Here’s a pic of yesterday’s outfit - jumpsuit from Mint Velvet. A colleague came up to me yesterday & said her & her friend were saying how amazing I look considering I had a baby 5 months ago. She said I was “smashing life!” Really made my day!

Will post a pic of today’s outfit later. I have some new bits arriving for my Spring wardrobe (please don’t judge) so will have a big try on.

toastfiend · 13/02/2020 11:47

@happytobemrsg it is the L&Y belt, yes! I love it, I have it in tan, too, but don't wear that one as much. If you're worried about the bagginess/poofiness of the Alexas I'd advise sizing down. I wear the mediums but would go for small if I wanted a more fitted look. They do soften up with a few wears and washes, too. 😊

happytobemrsg · 13/02/2020 11:55

So as promised, dresses from my big try on. All from Y.A.S via ASOS. Just realised that Y.A.S is part of the Bestseller company which also owns Only who do my absolute favourite thin knits. Dutch I think. Anyway... all dresses feel really good quality. The orange dress is perfect to just throw on (I specifically wanted a dress like this which didn’t need a belt. To get that, I massively sized down). The green dress is really lovely in person. Considering wearing it to a wedding in the early summer if I want my arms covered. But I think I can dress it down too with a denim jacket. The dark purple dress is just stunning. Thinking of wearing it to work next week with black tights & boots. Think pretty sandals would work when it’s warmer too.

Ooh @happytobemrsg love the dresses especially the dark purple one. Really lovely.

@OublietteBravo loving the high tops and agree if you don't love the car Elsa Boots, move them on. But to me, they look like a good basic.

@MerlinsButler getting a vicarious thrill from your stitch fix box. A really good selection

My outfit is simply warm and cosy and limited byme bringing down to spare room where I'm sleeping this week a small selection of clothes ( DD is in my room while decorating taking place in hers)

Jumper: mango
Jeans: Boden girlfriend
Trainers: Boden high tops ( not especially long with this outfit but the only other trainers i took down to spare room are navy which felt less right, but tbh as it's only you guys and the decorator who will see me ...)

Stormy day here yet again

@happytobemrsg I love that orange dress!

happytobemrsg · 13/02/2020 12:12

Here’s today’s outfit. Might have an outfit change if DH is feeling well enough to go out for our Valentines lunch.

Jumper: Mint Velvet
Mom jeans: New Look

Thanks for the dress love!

happytobemrsg · 13/02/2020 12:18

I’m very tempted @toastfiend as it will be a way of getting my leather joggers “look” but for Spring. I’m a size 10 top/dresses & 10/12 for jeans. As they are relatively high waisted, is usually got for a 10. Would that make me a S? One other thing, do they crease easily? I don’t iron 😊

KiteflyingKat · 13/02/2020 12:38

Hi everyone

@toastfiend love your outfit today

@OublietteBravo well done for sticking to your challenge. I quite like the boots.

@Sickoffamilydrama our charity shops can also be a bit overpriced and I regularly put stuff back on the rack for that reason (£8 for a second hand H&M dress....maybe not). Other things are well priced though.

@happytobemrsg that’s a lovely compliment and it’s true you do look great, keep up the good work. I like the dresses but especially the purple one. Were you drawn towards autumn colours before your analysis??
Regarding the L&Y Alexa I sized down & got the small. I’m 5”7 and a size 10 but sometimes a 12 around my hips. So similar to you. I don’t think they look too big & puffy on me at all. I posted a picture on the last thread & plan to wear them tomorrow so will post another. They are fairly light material so I plan to wear them in spring & on cooler summer days with sandals. I would recommend.

Today:
Red corduroy dress charity shop
Boots M&S
I think belt looks better than no belt??

Thanks @kiteflyingkat. Yes I already loved khaki, mustard & burnt orange. Unfortunately I wore mostly light grey which I know now completely washes me out. I still war black but try to brighten it up a bit. Thank you also for your take on the Alexa sizing. We do seem to be the same size! What colour do you have? Looking forward to seeing you style them tomorrow

happytobemrsg · 13/02/2020 13:29

And yes to the belt!

OublietteBravo · 13/02/2020 17:24

Nice dresses @happytobemrsg - I think my favourite is the purple one. Which is indeed stunning.

I love your red corduroy dress @KiteflyingKat - I think it is better with the belt too.

twosoups1972 · 13/02/2020 18:12

My outfit today

Skirt - Hush
Jumper - Whistles
Boots - John Lewis
Necklace- Hush

@happytobemrsg I love the colour of the burnt orange dress (the one with the sandals) - it's absolutely gorgeous.

Ellapaella · 13/02/2020 18:47

You all look lovely today - thank you all for the pictures.
Happy also loving your jumpsuit - very chic.
I'm thinking I haven't worn my dungarees enough this winter. Ideally I would like a skinny rib polo neck jumper to go underneath, maybe with a bright stripe or something. I love my dungarees and it occurred to me today they would be great with the silver high tops - so that's my mission next week, find the perfect skinny rib jumper to go underneath.

KiteflyingKat · 13/02/2020 18:51

@happytobemrsg here are a couple of old photos of my black Alexa trousers (from the old thread). As you can see they are baggy, but not ridiculously so. I was worried I might feel like a clown in them, but I definitely don’t Grin

I’d say if you want this kind of fit go for small, if you want more baggy go medium.

I also now have grey too which I shall photo tomorrow. If I could only pick one colour it would be the black though. I wish they did a lighter blue for summer.......

I’ve not washed them yet so can’t comment on ironing. I’ve heard they shrink & I’m hoping not too much as they are the perfect length, given I want them turned up. So will stick to cool wash and air dry.

Also not sure how they will withstand the fact I spend a lot of time on my knees (with my DC). I hope the knees don’t wear & fade.
