New year, new decade, new thread. Come join us for friendly fashion chat, you can agonise over the right length to wear your jeans or deliberate the exact tone of lippy. A frivolous space in tricky times. All welcome.

Picking up from here

Oh wow Everyone, I love love love those shorts. I am Seriously tempted!

shopafrolic · 01/02/2020 18:55

Caroline I feel as though I have to step up my game for the new school. We had miniShop's party today. A mix of old school friends and new. No wars so I am relieved. But yes to rarified space. It's a whole new world.

shopafrolic · 02/02/2020 21:26

Obsessed with this look. Where can I get socks / tights like this?!

shop see if you can find a UK stockist of Celeste Stein trouser socks. Very popular in my part of NZ. All sorts of wierd and wonderful designs to fill that gap between boot and jeans Smile

Google is too clever for its own good. I've tried hunting for a UK site selling them but keep getting 'we don't deliver to NZ' messages so can't search properly for you. Lots of the links I did find only show a few designs but they have loads so worth hunting down. It's an American brand.

You could try sock shop. Not sure if they'd be long enough though if you were wearing high boots.

MerlinsButler · 03/02/2020 13:39

But they do some knee highs too.

libertyonhertravels · 04/02/2020 02:12

Welcome Merlin. It seems we may have killed the thread with our pop sock links Grin

May I take the opportunity to point out that shop started it? Wink

I’m still in shock from the Celeste Stein site Lib Grin

libertyonhertravels · 04/02/2020 11:30

DH bought me some for Christmas. Utterly by bonkers but strangely appealing.

Nope Lib JUST NO

for Dry

MerlinsButler · 04/02/2020 23:29

Liberty love those socks.

MerlinsButler · 04/02/2020 23:33

I think that you're either a sock person or your not. Smile. I love this site too misssparrow.com

If the thread crashes again ... sorry not sorry.

Themarvellousmrsm · 05/02/2020 08:08

Merlin I have some bamboo socks from Miss Sparrow - they're lovely to wear.

Shop did you find any socks/tights with stars? There's a pair of tights on Amazon. I've picked up patterned anklets from TK Maxx from time to time so maybe worth a look.

Lib very disappointed I don't seem to be able to open your sock link however, your yellow socks are fabulous.

I'm having a frugal February which of course means I'll see absolutely loads of clothes, shoes, bags that I love! This no spend includes skin care and and makeup 😭as I have enough to last months! Oh and spurious cups of take out coffee and bars of luxury chocolate kill me now.

I did manage to squeeze in a bag purchase at the eleventh hour - a tote from Zara - needed one for a particular purpose but didn't want to spend ££ as trying to use smaller bags.

Themarvellousmrsm · 05/02/2020 08:14

Forgot the bag link so here’s a picture instead - yes I know it’s a boring black bag but that’s all I’ve got atm!

Lovely bag MrsM.

Shop those are perfect boots for dry and I think
these Rupert Sanderson boots would be perfect for me (though I would probably change the laces). Sold out in my size which is annoying.

I've ordered a really gorgeous sea green floral print dress from Zara which isn't on the website now (I promise I won't wear it with the mustard socks Grin)

Merlin socks aside - tell us a bit more about your style Smile

Lib did you sort your pigmentation issue? We were on a thread about it a couple of years ago? Am wondering what to try next - have discounted any of the micro needling etc as too invasive and painful

shopafrolic · 05/02/2020 14:02

Marvellous have you ever tried microdermabrasion?

MarshaBradyo · 05/02/2020 14:31

I’m stuck in some sort of Kafkaesque nightmare only to do with pipes, plumbers, drains specialists and scaffolders. I can’t even...

MarshaBradyo · 05/02/2020 14:32

Dh is in meetings so I have to unload my pain on here instead of texting him every 5 mins

MarshaBradyo · 05/02/2020 14:39

Good boots Lib shame they’re sold out

Good last minute purchase MrsM

libertyonhertravels · 05/02/2020 18:52

Oh no Marsha. I feel your pain.

MrsM no I haven't solved the pigmentation. Just trying to prevent it getting worse with lots of sunscreen and covering it up with CC cream etc. I'm debating some laser treatment but nervous about the fact that it makes skin more sun sensitive so I worry it would just be worse in the long run.

Shop I love those boots.

DryWhiteagainW · 05/02/2020 22:34

I’ve been coveting these for a while now

libertyonhertravels · 06/02/2020 03:19

Are you going to get them dry?

OP posts:
DryWhiteagainW · 06/02/2020 07:20

Not sure, trying to be good
