New year, new decade, new thread. Come join us for friendly fashion chat, you can agonise over the right length to wear your jeans or deliberate the exact tone of lippy. A frivolous space in tricky times. All welcome.

Oh I’m so pleased MrsM I always get worried when I recommend skincare in case it doesn’t work for others.
Shane about the MV leggings.

(Creeps in and waves)

Hello ladies. Long time no speak! I have been trying to keep up with the thread but not posted as have been trying to cut down my spending / shopping. I did quite well in the last 6months of 2019 and only bought / kept things that I really needed or loved eg
this top, this jumper and this one. Not very exciting but all been worn several times and work with lots of ‘bottoms’ Smile.

I was sorry to hear the end of last year was tough for some of you (shop, viva, lib and kitty) but lovely to hear about minidream.

Not much to report in my world. I’ve started running and been enjoying that and have noticed a pleasant impact on my post baby body which has been rewarding.

shop I saw on the outnet there are lots of Markus lupfer jumpers and tees and thought of you.

Glad the serum is good mrsm. I’m using the balance me tanning drops that you add to a moisturiser, which I’ve been using since last summer, and I think they make a difference and give a healthy glow without make up. When I’ve finished the bottle I might try the ones that shop recommended.

MarshaBradyo · 28/01/2020 13:59

Hey Everyone great to see you

I’ve been very naughty and revisited Chantecaille at Liberty and asked for make over (natural) and was sold.

I think I’ve found my brand but I’m not going back for a year or so, stop me. I even got eyeshadow!

I was good though and bought neutral non scented body moisturiser that is really hydrating for £27.

Will update later on stuff, and check out links. I’m alone in a nice cool cafe in Shoreditch listening to good music alone as Dh is home with dd. Have an interview in a mo. Meeting family for celebration later. Having a really nice day! Nice to have a break like this.

MarshaBradyo · 28/01/2020 14:00

MrsM I’ll have a look when I get home, I’m intrigued by these tanning drops now.

Dreamqueen · 28/01/2020 17:47

Lovely to see you back Everyone. I can't keep up with the thread either, I've ben trying to put more thought into my purchases and do less impulse buys. I'm also in a style quandry. I really love the black clothes instagram that Shop recommended & is exactly what i owre when I was much younger but my wardrobe is looking like Josephs multicoloured coat at the moment & I'm trying to buy less.

DryWhiteagainW · 28/01/2020 21:48

Bernice Eveyone and Dream great to see you all.
Boy Mrasha you’re doing well with the maquillage. Will we recognise you when we next see you?
I wore my Warehouse floral midi with knee boots today, lots of compliments, on the verge of over dressed but sod that! I just don’t want to leave stuff hanging in my wardrobe.

shopafrolic · 29/01/2020 07:16

Dream this popped up on my FB feed today and I thought of you.
Welcome back Everyone Smile

Themarvellousmrsm · 29/01/2020 07:36

Interesting article Shop, today I will wear orange in honour of colour with black skirt, black boots, black bag and black coat 🤣

Waves to Dream and Everyone - (and think I missed your post) Bernice.

Hope the job interview was successful Marsha and you enjoyed the celebrations. What did you wear?

MarshaBradyo · 29/01/2020 08:47

Ha Dry not sure I’ll look any different, but I usually swerve beauty counters because of the hard sell (and I wasn’t convinced it made a difference) but after she used the products I could actually feel it. For the first time in a while my skin felt soft rather than a bit dry.

Probably look the same but will feel better!

I got Chantecaille foundation, serum, liquid blush, subtle eyeshadow, lip potion and subtle lipstick. Said no to bronzer, primer, highlight concealer and moisturiser because above cost a small fortune but I think I’ve found the place I’ll go back to.

MrsM it was with a recruitment consultant so just the easy stage. My role rarely comes up haven’t seen it for a year but one did. I’m thinking about it, really not sure as dd starts morning nursery in a few weeks for a couple of days and I can stay home and start doing other stuff which is very appealing.

I wore new APC fine lined cream t, Marant navy blazer and dark Frame skinnies. Actually wore black Rag & Bone boots for first time in ages which I felt good about.

Ok that was long am posting now ;

MarshaBradyo · 29/01/2020 08:51

I also looked at Dr Sebagh but that is £££. Has anyone tried it? Wondering if it’s worth the price.

shopafrolic · 29/01/2020 10:04

Marsha oh to be able to go without wearing concealer Grin I’d look dead without it. Make up haul sounds ace though. As does interview outfit but I really hope you consider going back to the other stuff.
Outnet purchase has arrived but I need to try on before I link.

MarshaBradyo · 29/01/2020 12:26

Shop I’ve got the YSL touch eclat but do have issues with redness over everything 🙈

Looking forward to try on review

MarshaBradyo · 29/01/2020 12:26

Oh and general aging obvs

Stokey · 29/01/2020 12:51

Hi MNVers, long time, sounds like you're all well.

We finally finished extension and it's so nice to enjoy the new space which is fab, & have a builder free house at weekends. I finally feel like I'm getting some time back.

Not much to report on the fashion front. I too have embraced walking boots & got some Grenson like &OS white ones
Am wearing them today with navy wide cords (also &OS) & purple chunky polo from Arket. On my new window seat in the sun (meant to be WFH) bliss!

Sounds like it's too late Marsha but I'm a big fan of facial oils rather than moisturiser as my skin gets drier. I got the Votary super seed one in my advent calendar which I love, but it's £££, but pretty similar to the Ordinary Rosehip seed one. The other moisturiser I got which I rate is the Lixirskin universal emulsion.

Not sure about Jessie J's dress, she looks uncomfy, but loving CT, so simple.

MarshaBradyo · 29/01/2020 14:17

Stokey great to see you! The Grensons are perfect for you.

And I loved seeing the pics of the extension, looked incredible . Esp the window seat. I’ve booked some architects to come round next week, I had to get over the lack lustre previous plans by wrong people (and waste of money) but I’d like something more designed like yours is.

Good point about oils etc I also think I should bite the bullet and get an advent calendar this year to try stuff out.

MarshaBradyo · 29/01/2020 14:18

Also good recommendations Flowers would love to try them.

shopafrolic · 30/01/2020 07:24

Hey Stokey I love the sounds of your outfit, can totally picture you in it - love it when that happens. Your house renovations have looked brill - I am in awe of your garden.
Marsha CC cream should help with the redness
Feeling lousy today - we’ve been ill on and off since NYE. DH now on antibiotics.

shopafrolic · 30/01/2020 07:27

Forgot to update. I bought the jacket in the pic using a Honey discount so down to £180.
Beautiful jacket, fits perfectly on shoulders, back etc but gutted to say it is too short on the arms. Such a shame. Back it goes.

MNV Vol 88 - start of a new roaring 20's??
MarshaBradyo · 30/01/2020 11:57

That’s a shame Shop : (

CC cream, ok eyeing up By Terry one although prob have to try as in two shades

Also ordered Perricone night cream which was 70% off so either mulch off factory floor or great bargain. And tan drops 🙈

Ok so CC cream
Cleanser
And maybe a powder I don’t know

Then I’m done! From water and £2.50 Nivea to Products in one week.

Karcheer · 30/01/2020 12:04

Morning ladies

Loving all the makeup/beauty products chat.

@shopafrolic that blazer really is lovely, the sort of thing you'd have forever, shame about the arms.

I've just bought this it's lovely! it's definitely a maxi on me, I've been wanting a long dress for ages, love the swishy skirt.

Themarvellousmrsm · 30/01/2020 18:50

Marsha, it might be nice to have some time to yourself for a while-you won't get bored. Also, no need for concealer Shock. Am just a bit envious!

Stokey cool outfit-definitely you. Your new extension looks amazing, you must be thrilled with it.

Stunning jacket Shop, shame its going back. Hope you're feel better tomorrow.

Love your dress purchase too Karcheer , not heard of that make.

DryWhiteagainW · 31/01/2020 07:29

Oh Karcheer I really love that dress.
Am so enjoying your beauty shopping splurge Marsha
Off for blustery coastal weekend with the girls. Fashion will be functional only Grin

shopafrolic · 31/01/2020 18:56

Enjoy your weekend Dry - sounds fun
Went to local posh hotel for breakfast with the new school mums today. Wore new Levi skinnies, Peace & Love sweatshirt, Grensons and grey Comptoir coat with the grey scarf that Blingy gave me. Bright red lip for confidence.

CarolineBingley · 01/02/2020 14:48

Shop, my school mum friends and I just go to the cafe up the road, you're clearly in a more rarified spaceGrin love the jacket you bought and yesterday's outfit sounded ace!

Stokey, nice to see you! Very glad for you your house build is over, and loving your enjoyment of it!

It's been a busy day, I have been in mum hosting mode, so am wearing j crew 3/4 tee embroidered on the neck with crystals, black j crew toothpick jeans, hoodie and Nike trainers. Height of fashion.Grin

Everyonelovessparkles · 01/02/2020 17:52

Have a great weekend dry.

Your mums brunch sounds fab shop, much more glam than my post drop off trip to Nero! Your outfit sounded great too. Smile

You have done well on the make up haul marsha! Hope the meeting with the recruiter went well. Fab outfit!

Glad the building work is all finished stokey. Sounds like it was worth the pain though.

Was it kitty who was complaining about hush jumpers going all baggy? I have the same complaint with mint velvet. I haven a couple of jumpers from 2years who, which admittedly been worn quite a lot, but they have become pretty misshapen. They’ve been relegated to my ‘working at home’ days but I’m pretty cross as they weren’t overly cheap. But maybe things are only meant to last a couple of years now?

Going back to the earlier Jeans style conversation you were all having, these jeans from lee are my favourite jeans. They describe them as straight but on me they are more slim fitting, which I find more flattering than a skinny fit. I enjoy just bought a few more pairs from the website so am hoping the fit is the same as the ones I currently own. I’ve been burnt before in gap when I had the perfect pair, then they stopped doing it Sad. As much as I love the wide leg crop style on other people, I’m just not sure it’s really ‘me’ so am now trying not to be swaye by fashion, but sticking to something I feel more comfortable with.

I did a recent outnet order this top in the black and the white and these shorts. Its due for delivery next week so fingers crossed.
