I like your classic coats @Applefairy. I don't take suit belted waists but can see the Joseph would look great on the figure. I really like the J Crew and would be tempted by the dark green but don't need another coat this year.

I have a lovely customer service story from one of my favourite indie brands Pyrus. I bought one of their silk blouses in the run-up to Christmas for DH to give to me. It was too big, but by then we were in isolation and I'd missed the 14 days return. I emailed them yesterday and they have offered to exchange for any of their blouses in a small as the one I had has sold out. Made me feel all warm inside but also worried as small brands like that are the ones who will really struggle with yet more lockdowns.

Hope everyone is coping. I'd liked your positive outlook Dry on spending more time with your grown up DC. I think we will look back on this as a bonding time for families, tough as it is. Our school has massively improved its homeschooling offering since the first lockdown which I'm very thankful for, and my two are old enough to work reasonably independently, so hoping this one will be easier.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/01/2021 12:01

Hi everyone, Happy New Year :)
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Ours was the first one we've ever spent in our house, but it was actually really nice doing things at our own pace, especially with DS wanting to play with his presents rather than open them all at once. Back to working now, and nothing has changed much in our daily lives since July when nursery reopened, so we just have to get through it. I hope those of you who are WFH with school age DC are coping ok (and everyone else of course).

So my current puffer coat's zip broke (4 years old) and I've bought this one to replace it, spending a bit more, avoiding feathers/down and the related ethical worries. It hasn't arrived yet but my raincoat is from this brand and it's fab.

Best purchases last year were:
Spanx high waisted Look at Me leggings (though I do worry that they are a bit too compressive at times!)
Sloggi zero feel bralettes, can't be bothered with bras at all anymore.
Mango faux leather joggers, they make me feel stylish and can be dressed up or down if only they didn't make rude noises when I squat down in them they'd be perfect.
Chunky chelsea boots from Uterque, love them.
Beautiful block printed dress from Pink City Prints, which I managed to wear twice in the summer, not really "me" but just so pretty.

I also got my bespoke bag, which I'll add some pics of in a new post.

And finally, just bought this Rixo dress from the Outnet while it's full price on the Rixo website Confused as i (hopefully) have 5 weddings this summer. Even though after I ordered it I remembered I hope to be pregnant by then Blush

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/01/2021 17:13

Almost forgot... pics of bag!

libertyonhertravels · 07/01/2021 19:30

Oh the bag is gorgeous Blair. Great colours and the hardware looks really luxe. Worth the wait.

Love the Rixo dress too though I'm wondering what bra you wear with it?

I had a bra fitting yesterday that was so good. My boobs have gotten bigger and (ahem) 'droopy'. I was wearing the right size but wrong shape. She explained that I have a 'barrel' chest so boobs are falling to the sides making me look wider. So I need bras with more side support. I was a woman transformed in <a class="break-all" href="//mythefittingroom.co.nz/lingerie/ana-side-support-bra" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">fantasie bra

How has the move been @libertyonhertravels? Hope it is a good and fresh start for you all. Know it hasn’t been easy.
Beautiful bag @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping and good luck with the pregnancy planning! Sometimes I dream of another but hands are very full with work and my monsters so I think I’ve shut that door Wink

shopafrolic · 08/01/2021 09:34

Bra link doesn’t work for me @libertyonhertravels

maradesbois · 08/01/2021 20:37

Happy New Year Voguettes!

Although things currently seem pretty dire here in the UK and particularly scary in London am hoping this lockdown is the final big push we need to see light at the end of the tunnel. Sorry your family has been hit with the virus @Stokey but glad you’re out on the other side. Dh was struck with normal flu which absolutely wiped him out for fortnight.

@DryWhiteagainW your comments about family time warmed my heart too even though you’ve always been my goal for parenting teenagers and beyond ❤️. Every time I go into fortnum & mason (not so often tbh!) I lol at your family mission to get me my horseradish Grin.

@Applefairy and @libertyonhertravels equally heartwarming are your tales from down under with encouragement of a return to normal life and indeed style. On a less existential note very interesting and informative bra info lib.

Am currently debating a couple of sale purchases which will link if I decide to proceed. Need something to lift me from this gloomy time of year. Have a huge white co winter candle on the go to give some warmth in the absence of the Christmas tree.

maradesbois · 08/01/2021 20:39

Forgot to say super excited for both new bag and baby plans @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping.

Applefairy · 09/01/2021 07:41

I love your Rixo dress @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping. Wearing it will be something to look forward to. And if you can’t fit it into it Smile then you might just have to make another dress purchase Grin.

You bag is so lovely. I can see the quality just from the photo.

Keep up the fashion Voguettes. This won’t go on forever. Lockdown is a great time to take stock with current wardrobe and clear out, refresh for current styles, body type, stage of life etc. Eg, now that my DCs are a little older and I am more senior at work and I have lighter hair colour and a fatter tummy, I’m finding my 2015 post pregnancy office/work wear is quite tired. But I don’t feel I can necessary jump into fast fashion trends and keep my own style unique. So it takes some consideration to work out what makes me feel good.

Everyonelovessparkles · 10/01/2021 08:32

Happy new year! Hope everyone is ok.

Sorry to hear you had the dreaded ‘c’ stokey. Hope you’re feeling better now.

Congratulations on the new job lib. Hope you find some more work colleagues to talk fashion too!

Love the bag blair! The lining is a gorgeous colour. Great dress too. I love the back. Good luck on the baby front!

I know it was a while ago but I loved shop’s post about how the arrival of her grensons inspired her to change her whole outfit! Great boots too.

Glad you had a nice time with your DC dry. Looking forward to when my DC can talk about other stuff than Roblox!!

Unsurprisingly no fashion news here. Though I have treated myself to a few new nice underwear sets, (Taking inspiration from caroline Smile) might as well feel good even if I am just wearing comfy clothes!! Am doing dry January 😩. I’ve told it’s of friends so have to go through with it now. It’s going ok so far. Not noticed any weight loss yet but I do feel a bit less bloated.

Hope you all have a good Sunday.

Everyonelovessparkles · 10/01/2021 08:33

*lots of friends (hate it when my phone changes words)

libertyonhertravels · 13/01/2021 08:06

The bra link isn't working for me now either shop. Below is another attempt.

These are the bras I bought.
Fantasie Anoushka side support
Fantasie Fusion side support
Fantasie Emmie side support bra

libertyonhertravels · 13/01/2021 08:15

everyone I'm considering getting matching briefs to go with my lovely new bras also inspired by caroline.

Like applefairy I'm using the sales to get a few new work dresses. Really pleased with this one from Trenery.

I'd like a new jacket for work too but so far I haven't seen anything I like. I have to do real shops as I am between addresses so online tricky atm.

OP posts:
Fairyapple · 13/01/2021 16:12

I love that dress. Did you find it true to size? I like a lot of the dresses they have in at the moment. I’m always drawn to oranges, dark greens and leopard print.

Fairyapple · 13/01/2021 16:16

And definitely get matching briefs. It’s an investment in yourself (makes you feel so put together when underwear matches). I ordered nice, comfortable, ‘stay at home’ sets in our lockdown.

libertyonhertravels · 13/01/2021 18:50

Sizing is generous applefairy. I got a 12 but I'm carrying extra kgs especially around my waist so should really be a 14. The fabric in that one is particularly nice, decent weight cotton poplin that hangs well but isn't stiff or too heavy. Trenery have some lovely dresses atm. I tried a few on but wasn't keen on some of the fabrics. I will be walking to work in my new job so keen to avoid anything with potential to be sweaty!

LoveFromDeauville · 15/01/2021 08:35

Nice dress @libertyonhertravels Would be completely wrong on me but I see it working for you.
I can’t muster up any enthusiasm for shopping at all. Work has been ridiculous and I’m finding it all a bit wearing now. Brighter days ahead hopefully.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/01/2021 13:09

That dress is so you @libertyonhertravels! Hope it all goes well when you start the new job.

Thanks for the bag love. I am so happy with it. The colours, the leather, the size, the usability, everything is just fab.

Everyone I'm doing Dry Jan as well. How is yours going? I made some other changes as well and feel better than I have in a very long time. The main one being giving up sugar (since 1st Jan). I've got an app on my phone for tracking my goals and it's going really well (I've got about 10 goals).

The other thing I can recommend is giving up following Instagram fashion influencers. I did that a few weeks ago and I feel more "at peace" with my enjoyment of clothes/shopping/fashion than I have in a very long while. Also feel more confident in my own style.

The Rixo dress arrived from Italy 24 hours after ordering (thank you the outnet!) and it's stunning, I hope I do get to wear it. Wore it with no bra and it was fine! I also ordered a silk slip dress from Iris & Ink which was in the sale, looking forward to layering it up when I'm dressing up for work again.

Everyonelovessparkles · 15/01/2021 13:22

Nice dress lib can totally see you in it.

Glad you are pleased with the bag blair it is stunning. My dry jan is going ok. I find 5-6 is when I fancy a drink so am now doing exercise 4-4.45 so by the time I’ve showered etc I taste for a wine has gone off me and I don’t want to undo my hard exercise work. I can do this at the moment as work isn’t too busy, not sure it it’s sustainable long term though. But I think it has ‘reset’ my drinking habits. Still not much evidence of weight loss, clearer skin etc though Hmm.

I received the new Boden catalogue the other day and was quite drawn to this www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/charlotte-shirt-dress-french-navy-rainbow-leopard/sty-w0686-nvy?cat=C1_S2_G360 shirt dress]] (you know I love a bit of Boden Grin. I’m
so fashion forward Grin) and this jumper. It is interesting how so many companies have an extensive lounge wear / gym wear range in their spring collections!

Everyonelovessparkles · 15/01/2021 13:34

blair also meant to say that glad the Rixo dress is a keeper! It was pretty.

Everyonelovessparkles · 15/01/2021 13:57

Just ordered this jumper. I love a Bardot neckline.

DS is driving me mental. He won’t do school work and just messes about the whole time. It is very draining....

LoveFromDeauville · 16/01/2021 22:51

I sympathise @Everyonelovessparkles - it is really difficult.

@libertyonhertravels - walking to work sounds wonderful and a great way to clear the head. Best of luck. It really is a fresh new start for you Flowers

Busy day today as had quite a bit of work to do this morning. Took the DC out for a walk and play in the park as they were going a bit stir crazy. All a bit calmer this evening, thank goodness.

No fashion news but did spend some time deliberating over a few Tory Burch bags and coats. Yet to decide! Wink

DryWhiteagainW · 17/01/2021 20:45

Mara the family search party to F and M Grin I’d forgotten that. It was hilarious.
Absolutely no fashion news other than I have discovered how good it is to have some decent lounge wear...I’m not even talking “nice” enough to link, just not an old scruffy top and jeans after work. I’ve always spent my money on smart clothes because I love that look, now all I need are elasticated pull on trousers or luxe type joggers, even bought a Boden cropped cashmere cardigan to wear with the bottoms, so cosy, warm and soft. Not sure I’ll ever go back.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 17/01/2021 21:46

well, no fashion news here either, though i do get to wear real clothes tomorrow for a trip to gynaecology!!

I need new glasses (again) and im torn between these two pairs : www.glassesdirect.co.uk/glasses/marc-jacobs-marc-464/?prca=PRCA50057333&aspect=front or www.glassesdirect.co.uk/glasses/gucci-gg0027o/?prca=PRCA50059762&aspect=front I think i slightly prefer the Gucci but i dont know if ive got brand goggles on there

Just had my birthday and it was....well, what can you say about a lockdown birthday really??

Getting so much use out of the fleecey lounge sets i was bought for xmas, unless i have hospital appointments, im wearing nothing else!!

libertyonhertravels · 18/01/2021 03:37

Happy belated birthday one Cake

I prefer the Marc Jacob's frames!
