Oh God I don’t even want to go there. I’m ignoring and staying in my bubble.

libertyonhertravels · 12/10/2020 19:58

Thanks kitty.

Dont go there shop. I've just wasted 30 mins of my life eye rolling furiously Grin

I'm leaning towards the ring with the single stone. The jeweller has now put it aside for me for 2 weeks to think about it which is lovely. The bigger one I think is gorgeous but would be annoying for daily wear and I want something I will wear all the time.

I'm having a style 'unsettled' moment. Not really happy with my look. Feeling quite fat and frumpy isn't helping. I have bought some wide leg black jeans for a different silhouette. Lack of choice in NZ is annoying me a lot.

What have people bought lately that has given your look a fresher or updated feel?

Also in preparation for moving (house sale is agreed) I did a ruthless clear out of clothes this weekend. Was a bit depressing to chuck out so much stuff that didn't fit properly or wasn't great quality. Lots of impulse purchases and things bought because I couldn't find anything else. Need to have a word with myself and get back to properly planning what I buy and only buying what I love.

You have a great look lib. Wide leg jeans sound fab and now so should give you the wardrobe refresh you think you need. Didn’t think you wore black, have you relaxed a bit on the autumn palette? What about getting a new bag or shoes/sandals? Can see you in a style like the APC low wedge ones with your jeans.

maradesbois · 12/10/2020 21:18

these are the sandals I was thinking of but maybe lose the socks Wink

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 12/10/2020 22:08

ah The Vampires Wife are doing a collab with H&M!! I NEED THIS. I NEED IT. I might actually die if i dont get any. ITS SERIOUS!!!!

libertyonhertravels · 13/10/2020 07:39

That post made me snort with laughter one. You definitely need it - the perfect collaboration for you.

Thanks mara those sandals would be good or something similar. I have relaxed on the autumn colours especially since moving to NZ where there is less choice. I wear black bottom half items and I also wear most shades of blue and some charcoal grey. Generally if I keep to autumn colours close to my face it's ok.

Lib exciting about the ring.

You have a great look. I think you should get a summer maxi for the summer coming up. Remember the one you wore when a random person said you looked awesome? One like that

libertyonhertravels · 13/10/2020 08:20

Thanks Marsha. I pulled that maxi out the other day when I was sorting my wardrobe - I didn't wear it much last year so looking forward to wearing it this summer. The APC sandals would look good with it too.

I need some new white / cream trainers. And a sun hat. Maybe new sunnies too. Starting to get a list together feels good.

I agree with marsha, lib, you have a great look. You have a great variety of outfits (wide leg culottes/ trousers, maxis, midis, fab accessories that pull an outfit together etc). Maybe you are just a bit fed up in general? You have gone through a massive life upheaval - moving to the other side of the world, starting a new job and a house Reno and now a house sale! That is a lot for any one! A wardrobe review is always fun and it does make you think about what you like to wear and why you pick one outfit over another. I know there are some older things in my wardrobe that I like, but they are never my first choice, I wear them when I feel like a change. When I buy stuff now, I am much more considered about when I’ll wear it, what does it go with, does it suit a variety of occasions etc, this has meant that i miss some of those impulse purchases of surprising things that end up working, but there are less mistakes too. Great news on the ring. It was a classic style.

It was lovely to hear about the mini MUs. Hope marsha didn’t suffer too much the next day!

Everyonelovessparkles · 13/10/2020 09:36

blair have you found any ankle boots yet? I’m still undecided as to what i actually want! I keep being drawn.m to these Dune boots but annoyingly they are out of stock in John Lewis and I have a voucher for there. Might just order them any way as lots if things are going out of stock quite quickly.

MarshaBradyo · 13/10/2020 09:40

Everyone they are nice go for it. Annoying about the voucher but maybe there’s something else you can buy with it.

I didn’t feel too bad the next day but that kind of thing can’t be a regular thing, feel a bit hopeless the next day or two.

The Wolseley was so beautiful. I’ve not been there before. Really magical.

I very much look forward to a bigger MU when we can together. I can almost visualise it. Have to be patient though.

CarolineBingley · 13/10/2020 20:18

The Dune boots reminded me that I want these R&B boots Not sure if it's as badly as @OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack wants the new H&M collection though.GrinPlease make sure you link as I want to see!

The LV bag thread is making me want to buy a bag for the first time in a year. Someone has just asked why anyone needs 15 bags. Might be dh in disguiseGrin

@libertyonhertravels go back to being disciplined. New season, new chance. You have lovely things that suit you. E bay or charity shop the ones that don't suit you. But definitely don't despair x

Today's ootd was this navy lace blouse with black J Crew matchstick jeans.

MarshaBradyo · 13/10/2020 21:08

Caroline which bag would you like? We can help you choose

One yes I can really see you in that brand

Everyonelovessparkles · 15/10/2020 09:11

I received an email from hush about an archive sale and was just scrolling through the website and there is a model that just reminds me of shop. I know you said you’ve got different hair now, but there is something about this model and the way she wears the outfits that reminds me of you. She looks best in the seemingly casual outfits but just rocks them and I always think shop does that, what send like a simple outfit, she always elevates and takes it to the next level. This is the Shop lookalike Smile

On that bag thread, do you remember happy who used to post on here? She used to buy a designer bag every other week!

shopafrolic · 15/10/2020 09:21

Thanks @Everyonelovessparkles what a massive compliment. Hair is totally different nowadays - super short and grey. I loved my fringe and waves for a while though. Nowadays it’s more like this and grey!

Everyonelovessparkles · 15/10/2020 10:05

Smile even with the new hair do, I’m sure you still rock the outfits!!

CarolineBingley · 15/10/2020 21:24

Everyone, that some memory! It feels like Shop didn't have that hair do for very long?!!!

Marsha, oh I don't actually want a new bag! I have barely used the bags I own for the last 18 months, they sit there pristine with the high heels I haven't worn in 4 yearsGrin

To be fair, I have started using handbags again. This week I used my Balenciaga giant city and my Mulberry Roxanne last week. Oldies but definitely goodies!!

libertyonhertravels · 16/10/2020 10:39

Thanks everyone and caroline. I am over my wobble especially after wearing my new jeans today. Wore them to work (casual Friday) with a navy print blouse and olive flat sling back loafers. I've realised part of my issue is staying on top of laundry Blush. I have lovely clothes but they are either in the laundry basket or the ironing pile Grin.

mara I hear you on the Zara issues. Have the bag i dropped off to the charity shop was Zara mistakes.

libertyonhertravels · 16/10/2020 10:41

Get the Dune boots everyone, I think you'll wear them a lot.

Love the R&B boots caroline.

OP posts:
libertyonhertravels · 16/10/2020 10:44

And that Hush link took me back to the shop with long hair era Smile I agree shop totally rocks that sort of look.

libertyonhertravels · 16/10/2020 10:46

And just to say huge hugs to all of you coping with new restrictions with covid again. It's bloody relentless Sad. Hope everyone is ok. I'm desperately missing home but feel very lucky with our life in NZ.

Everyonelovessparkles · 16/10/2020 17:06

That was the hair style shop had when I met her. I think it was nearly 4 years ago when we had that MU in town Shock.

Glad you are feeling a bit better lib. Yes keeping on top of washing is a full time job, don’t know how I would manage if I didn’t WFH Grin.

No restrictions are just depressing. I know it could be worse but it just curtails any socialising (I know that’s the point, but still....). How are things in NZ lib? Is the feeling in the country generally positive or is the closed border starting to have an impact on tourism / the economy etc

Wore my midi black ribbed dress again today. It’s becoming a favourite as comfy for WFH but the collar and buttoned top make it look smart for work calls and now I’ve rediscovered those knee boots, the shoe problem is resolved.

Will probably order those boots before they sell out. I’ve been squirrelling away money into my savings in an attempt to reduce my frivolous spending but then don’t actually leave myself a lot of funds to buy stuff I actually need Grin!

Everyonelovessparkles · 16/10/2020 17:07
  • new restrictions, obviously no restrictions would be anything but depressing Grin
