I gotcha @Themarvellousmrsm Grin

justasecond · 28/09/2020 21:03

Evening ladies
Have had a busy few days with trying to get the last bits for the builders. I'm worried another lockdown will leave us high and dry!
Viva sounds like an awful time but glad you are doing well now. Love the boots and the jeans.
caroline I always enjoy your jewelry links. Btw I finally got the black Hermes clic clac bracelet you have that I admired at a MU. After I tried yours on I knew I wanted one!
Blair love your bag and the story behind your purchase. Thanks so much for sharing.
shop I went to look at your hair on FB. I love it! it looks so cool as your hair is in really good condition. Mine is the colour and texture of wire wool so will have to stick with the dye.
lib I did buy that HM dress. It was so lovely but really didn't suit me.
mrsm SB hoody looks so cosy. I couldn't see the HM dress
everyone sorry to hear you are going through a hard time. Hope things get better Flowers The sjp shoes are lovely btw.
Mara the vejas look really good. I have just splurged and bought another pair of golden goose with a matches code here to think I used to hate them!

shopafrolic · 30/09/2020 07:43

Thanks justa the condition of mine has improved massively since I stopped dyeing it. Definitely much smoother and I had started getting a sore scalp which has also stopped. I may go back to the dye but for now I’m happy having the change.
Viva I’m really pleased to hear you’re coming out the other side - you’ve had such a tough time. And to then be hit with the crap that 2020 has thrown at us is just rubbish.

So, a bit of a hero product that I thought I’d share as I’ve been so impressed. Akt deodorant balm random I know but I’ve been looking for a more natural and environmentally friendly product that actually works and this does, it also doesn’t seem to mark clothes which is a huge plus.
Have a good day Voguettes Smile

libertyonhertravels · 30/09/2020 08:08

Quick hello from me. Sorry I'm not doing a big post but really enjoying all the posts and links, haven't the energy with all that's going on - that sounds a bit dramatic- am just tired.

I planning to treat myself to a ring when I finish up in this job and sell the house. Options below. Would love your opinions Smile

The one on the right LibGrin

@justasecond ooooh I am so glad you got the clic clac. It looked stunning on you!!

Since we are on jewellery, I am sapphire girl todayGrin. Literally, earrings, necklace and ring are all diamond and sapphire. I did rein myself in and stopped at matching the bracelet and so I am wearing a simple tennis bracelet.

Themarvellousmrsm · 30/09/2020 08:38

Didn’t realise the H&M dress link didn’t work - hopefully this link will work. Like the Blue Peter tortoise, the dress is now in hibernation until s/s 2021

Lib I like the 2nd ring with the single stone

Ootd is Whistles barrel leg jeans, Hush cherries jumper and not decided on footwear yet. Bag is oxblood Coach (can’t think of the name) and Jigsaw chunky long cardigan in navy

If I was mooching around the house in Next (bleach splattered) harems & and old hoody (ex ds) I probably wouldn’t have bothered with ootd Grin

Love to hear everyone else’s ootd

Applefairy · 30/09/2020 09:30

@libertyonhertravels, I like the ring on the left. Would you wear it on its own?

The weather here here shocking atm, my OOTD is Lululemon leggings and a longish J Crew hoody and black snowboard jacket I wear for dog walking - as that’s all I’ve done today. Also my Motelliana suede green boots - highly recommend them, they are often in the Matches sales at end of season - I get a lot of compliments on them and they are very comfortable. I even bought a second pair this year.

I did invest in a few nice hoodies and sweatshirts last season so I felt comfortable but not like I was wearing ‘rags’ while I worked from home iykwim?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/09/2020 11:17

Hello!

Lib gorgeous rings. I also like the left one, I think it is more interesting. Emerald will look lovely on you.

itsmybirthday yay to the coat! It's very you.

Apple I like those boots, they look very warm and comfy yet stylish.

OOTD is dull, Reiss navy knit mini dress (above knee) with & Other Stories heeled chelsea boots. Today is the first day I am breaking out the black tights (laundry issues Grin)

CarolineBingley · 30/09/2020 15:34

Oh that’s a lovely dress @Themarvellousmrsm!

@BlairWaldorfLovesShopping we are very similarly dressed. I am wearing a navy Hobbs knitted dress (hence all the blue jewellery!), with R&B buckle ankle boots and carrying blue balenciaga giant city bag.

Topazwithpearls · 30/09/2020 19:23

Hellooo everyone!
How nice to see so many here. I have just skimmed the last few pages and think I have figured out who some of those who have changed names are. I will read back properly to catch up.
Since I was last on here, much has changed. I have taken early retirement Grin and 2020 was meant to be a year of travel Hmm
My wardrobe needs have changed drastically and I am feeling a bit lost with it all at the moment, so have come back for inspiration and because you have always been such a friendly, supportive bunch Flowers
Looking forward to catching up with everyone and all the links.

maradesbois · 30/09/2020 22:27

Applefairy I have those exact same boots in same colour, also purchased from Matches sale. Great minds! Have only ever worn them in the mountains or when it snows here otherwise am too hot but really like them. The only tiny niggle is I wish the white interior lining matched the colour of the suede upper.

Shop have heard great things about that deodorant. Does it take ages to dry?

lib hard to choose, I love both but am particularly drawn to the more detailed one on the left.

Topaz lovely to hear from you.

Ootd was gym stuff then boring jeans/sweatshirt for wfh so am doing tomorrow’s instead MrsM. Am making more of an effort as going to the office then dinner. Marant white linen ruffle sleeve shirt, cropped pale blue current/elliot fling jeans, white common projects thick sole trainers, beige APC trench and goyard tote.

maradesbois · 30/09/2020 22:31

Also forgot to say congrats on the new GGs justa Grin. They are very popular here amongst the school mums.

shopafrolic · 30/09/2020 23:12

No Mara it is kind of a dry cream so you literally smear a pea sized amount under your arms and dress immediately. I was worried as it doesn’t say it is an anti perspirant but no sweat so far and still smelling fresh at the end of each day. I’m v impressed.
Boris has stressed me to the max today with his latest 5pm slot so I need to sort my head out. I am sometimes wonder whether there is any point in watching the news anymore.
Will try and do OOTD tomorrow as am going to my local posh hotel for coffee with my friend / financial advisor.
Lib I LOVE the ring on the left, but the one on the right is possibly more you?
Apple and Mara fab boots

libertyonhertravels · 01/10/2020 08:21

That's helpful ladies!! Split opinions Grin

I agree with shop's summary - the one on left is great but one on right is probably more me. BUT after being convinced for weeks that I should get the single stone, I'm now leaning towards the more blingtastic ring with all the stones and thinking I should go for something a bit out of my comfort zone. I'm not likely to decide for a few more weeks but will keep you posted.

Alternatively I could buy both Shock.

Love the GGs justa.

applefairy you guys have had a tough time in your part of the world. Good to see you back here.

vegas it's great to hear how much things have moved on for you.

everyone sorry to hear things are tough at home. I've had a very difficult time with my DH too. Hoping we have pressed a reset button.

topaz Congratulations on retirement. Hopefully the travel plans will happen eventually.

caroline the sapphires sound amazing.

blair funny you are breaking out the opaques, I'm hoping to retire mine for the season this weekend.

libertyonhertravels · 01/10/2020 08:39

mara your Marant blouse and jeans outfit sounds perfect Smile

My OOTD here was old M&S a-line dark brown leather skirt, rust cotton knit sweater with blouson sleeves, dark brown opaques, tan heeled R&B Chelsea boots, leopard print scarf, gold hoop earrings, Zara beige car coat and navy pilage. Felt very good.

OP posts:
libertyonhertravels · 01/10/2020 08:43

applefairy yes I would wear the ring on the left on it's own simply because I have no other rings Grin - apart from wedding ring and my engagement ring which I dont wear because I dont really like it.

OP posts:
Everyonelovessparkles · 01/10/2020 08:49

Tough choice with the rings lib as they are quite different. If you want something subtle and understated that you can wear every day, then maybe the single stone is the way to go. Whereas if you want something more ‘va va voom’ then maybe choose the first one. Are they a similar price? I love my boodles rain dance ring that I got when I turned 40 and wear it all the time and I get pleasure out of it every day - so choose something that you really love!

Hi topaz, nice to see you back! Congratulations on your retirement but sorry to hear your plans haven’t worked out. Hopefully next year.....

I might break out the black tights today as well blair as already getting a bit sick of jeans.

Enjoy your coffee shop, it’s always nice to go somewhere a bit different - I find a special treat (even if a simple one) can really lift your mood, especially with so much doom and gloom in the news.

My OOTD is either going to be a ‘fit and flare’ knee length forest green knitted dress or a more fitted midi black knitted dress With collar and button front - comfy for WFH but a change from jeans. I found it easier to dress ‘better’ in the summer as wore lots of skirts and dresses as needed need them dreaded tights!!

Everyonelovessparkles · 01/10/2020 08:50

Great outfit lib

shopafrolic · 01/10/2020 16:51

Afternoon ladies. OOTD is Markus Lupfer lips jumper, black J Brand jeans, Grenson Nanettes and grey Comptoir coat. Plus Manaur Gavriel tote and face mask Sad
Lovely to be out and in such a lovely location but all the mask wearing is putting me off bothering TBH. Really horrid and completely changes the atmosphere, and before anyone complains I understand why we have to do it and will obviously comply with any rules - it just makes everything feel incredibly unnatural.
Lib buy both - they are too different and I could see both being worn.
Everyone a change from jeans is much needed here. Too easy for standards to slide. Your OOTD sounds good.
And my lesson for today - never put on red lipstick if you’re going somewhere that requires a face mask Blush

Everyonelovessparkles · 01/10/2020 16:59

Great outfit shop, you always elevate a jeans based outfit to the next level whereas I always look like I can’t be arsed.

I know what you mean about the mask wearing taking the fun out of stuff. I can see why clothes shops are suffering as it’s just not fun to have a mooch around the shops in the mask.

Whoops on the red lipstick and mask wearing!

CarolineBingley · 01/10/2020 17:31

Lovely OOTDs!

Shop I know it sounds weird but you do get used to the face masks, and I think everyone does the lippy mistake first time!

So today I am wearing this Ted Baker blouse with blue jeans. It got chilly this afternoon so I threw on this mint velvet cardigan which I bought a couple of days ago.

Also bought this mint velvet waterfall longline cardigan which I am really excited about wearing.Smile

Applefairy · 01/10/2020 18:37

Nice blouse and cardigans Caroline Are you a spring? Or a summer?

As a deep/dark autumn, I am loving all the toffee/rust colours I am seeing at the moment. I have a real weakness for Joseph knitwear and am very tempted by these two.

Where is your rust cotton sweater from Lib?

Mara that outfit sounds lovely.

We have compulsory facemasks here all the time, everywhere except at home or in the car (not that we can go anywhere and nothing is open except the supermarket/ pharmacy/ takeaway food etc). I have some nice neutral linen ones with metallic elastic loops from a local boutique.

I hated wearing one at first (to the extent I had a panic attack the first few times I wore one and I dreaded going out) but now I am so used to it - it is a lot easier when it is cold though, and I haven't worn make-up for months now. I tried a tinted moisturiser one day and it came off on the mask and felt a bit icky.

shopafrolic · 01/10/2020 18:49

@Everyonelovessparkles what a lovely compliment - thank you Smile
@Applefairy I have had a few times where I have had to slow my breathing and have felt quite panicky.
My problem is that because so much has changed, and I really hate the ‘new normal’ I get into a rut, can’t be bothered to go out as I think it will be horrible and then hate myself for becoming a hermit and letting the virus take over. Sorry. Feeling a bit flat today.
One of the Mum’s on the school run looked amazing today. She was wearing Grenson Nanette’s with thick black opaque tights, a leopard print slim long skirt with a slit and an oversized black chunky jumper. Loved the whole look.
And talking of masks - the mask game is strong on the school run. I even saw one Mum in what looked to be a Chanel branded face mask today. Must Google to see if it was real or fake. Grin
