New year, new decade, new thread. Come join us for friendly fashion chat, you can agonise over the right length to wear your jeans or deliberate the exact tone of lippy. A frivolous space in tricky times. All welcome.

MrsM hope DH is ok. Thinking of you.

We returned home on one of the so called rescue flights out of India on Sunday. I'm self isolating to be on the safe side. I had an asthma attack last Thursday & ended up on a drip & with nebulisers in an Indian hospital. Can't fault the treatment that I received. So my isolation wardrobe is a selection of pyjamas and Uniqlo joggers. i might have to actually online shop & up my loungewear wardrobe.

shopafrolic · 18/03/2020 17:03

Super cute for little feet

shopafrolic · 18/03/2020 21:56

Dream good to hear from you. I was thinking of you today when I did my ironing (all black) and wondered where you were. Was going to text but then discovered I don’t have your mobile number. Rest up.

justasecond · 18/03/2020 23:03

Hi all, what a scary time this is. Hard to believe how much has changed so fast.
MrsM hope your dh is better now.
Dream glad you made it back and are ok
Not buying anything either but I did order this erborian bb cream I tried a sample and really liked it. I think I will still wear a bit of makeup even if I am home as I will depress myself even more otherwise!

I do hope we can keep the thread going even though I am the most guilty of not posting enough.

I saw a very stylish, elegant older lady in a restaurant a couple of weeks ago and decided I want to be her Grin She was over 60 with a sleek light blonde hair in a bob , slim and was wearing medium blue wide leg jumbo cord trousers with a navy zara round neck jumper with buttons sleeves (like Trinny wears) and a blue and white striped shirt under. She had a black patent very wide belt over the waist.A simple outfit but it just looked so good on her. DD1 overheard her talking to her friend and earwigged that she is a professor in a nearby university Grin I have a total style crush on her and want to be her when I grow up, although sadly, the ship has sailed on the professor part.

My last day at work tomorrow, will then be mostly off. Stay safe lovely ladies x

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 19/03/2020 21:17

OOTD tatty dressing gown over cleanish pjs. Confinment not helping me be stylish but tbh, was i ever stylish really?! Grin

Everyonelovessparkles · 21/03/2020 07:51

mrsm hope your DH is ok.

one look after yourself. Hope you are doing ok.

Glad you had a nice holiday dream.

That older lady sounds very stylish justa. I always hope to be a stylish older lady but given that I’m not that stylish now I can’t see it happening Grin.

I was getting a bit concerned with my outnet refund for the SR shoes and HL skirt given the escalating situation here and in Italy (I know, first world problem Blush) but received an email today saying they were being processed. So that’s a relief. I see there’s a note on the outnet website saying deliveries and refunds might take longer to process. It’s bound to put people off ordering. I think the economic aftermath is going to be horrendous but hopefully some of the recent government announcements will help.

Keep well Voguettes.

Dreamqueen · 21/03/2020 19:07

Shop thank you for the reminder that I'm trialling the mostly black wardrobe. Since you postd I've unthinkungly added all kinds of weird pattern & bright floral stuff to my online shopping baskets & then I suddenly think what would Shop say about these purchases.Shop you've saved me from so many bad purchases that I'd probably only wear once.

Funnily enough now the gym is closed, I'm wearing my gym stuff more. Trying o do a walk/run every morning.

Good news about your refund Everyone. Justa let us know how you get on wth the BB cream please? I'm tempted but it's more that I'd usually spend.I've just used the last of the illuminator by Estee lauder & think a BB cream might be better now that I hardly wa=ear any face make up.

Stay safe MNV during this crazy time.

shopafrolic · 22/03/2020 13:21

Dream what a nice post to log onto - especially WWSS (what would Shop say). Nice. You totally rock black and a bright red lip.
When I start feeling better I’m totally going to try and keep making the effort, at the moment because I’m feeling lousy I am slobbing out with no make up on.
Big love and a Happy Mother’s Day to any Voguette mummies.

libertyonhertravels · 24/03/2020 09:57

We're going into lockdown in NZ. I'm working crazy hours. One of the rituals that's keeping me going is choosing an outfit every day. I'm in full on 'get up, dress up, show up' mode.

I bought a gorgeous not quite maxi but longer than midi length pleated copper colour skirt yesterday just as the lockdown was being announced. Wore it today with block heeled tan Chelsea Boots, navy polo style knit from Cos and a silk scarf in mustard, copper and teal, gold hoop earrings, camel Zara wool coat. Felt great. The skirt swishing while I worked at a seriously fast pace getting my teams lockdown ready kept my mood up all day. I will out style this crisis GrinGrinGrin

Stay safe my lovelies Flowers

Oh Lib thank you so much for posting your ootd, need a bit of distraction and it sounds fab.

I'm making sure I wear lipstick everyday even if not going anywhere or wearing any other makeup. In fact am in yoga clothes and ysl pink lipstick!

Miss you all

kittyhello · 25/03/2020 11:37

MrsM how is your dh - getting better?

Lib your outfit sounds lovely, the colours of your scarf sound gorgeous, when you get a chance you should upload a photo of it.

I've been a bit AWOL on here as my dear mum passed away earlier this month, not from the Coronavirus I hasten to add, and having to arrange the funeral in this current climate is becoming less straightforward on a daily basis - and breathe.

Themarvellousmrsm · 25/03/2020 14:00

Oh Kitty I'm so sorry to hear that, and can only imagine how hard it is organising everything. Sending you big hugs.

Dh is fine (ish) and back wfh. He's been diagnosed with a condition which will take some management and needs to isolate atm. I am slightly calmer than I was a week ago Grin

The staff at the hospital were so lovely last week and I noticed just how much cleaning was being done as well as caring for patients so big respect to all you health care workers. You know who you are on this thread if you're lurking Wink

Ootd old black yoga pants, old navy Boden t shirt, marigolds, tiny gold studs that belonged to my Grandmother and a pair of yellow marigolds.....

shopafrolic · 25/03/2020 17:49

Kitty I’m so sorry to hear your news. Sending you love.
OOTD yesterday was better than today’s! Yesterday was Sweaty Betty yoga joggers, Peace & Love warchild sweatshirt and my new hi tops that Lib found for me. They made me smile all day which was much needed.

kittyhello · 25/03/2020 18:17

Thank you both, MrsM glad your dh is better now. I need cheering up and was about to buy a jacket from Me&Em but it's oos in my size. I'm not going to link it yet as I have a 25% discount code and want it to come back in stock soon.

Dreamqueen · 26/03/2020 20:31

Kitty so sorry for your loss.

MrsM gad to read that MrM is ok.

Lovely outfit LIB

Fashion new fromhere is that I've ordered multiple pyjama sets from Gap on a 40 % discount offer. I'm goig to be smartly dressed while in all day pyjamas..

MrGrumpyDearm ended up having the paramedics out on Tauesday. He has mild virus but should be i hospital because of his age. Grumpy bugger refused to go.So I'm in Florence mode while monitoringhim very closely In my opinion that allows me a major purchase when this situation is over.
Stay d\safe MNV and see you on the other side.

Everyonelovessparkles · 27/03/2020 10:38

So sorry to hear about your DM kitty. Hope you are your family are doing ok. Flowers

Sorry to hear about mrdream dream, hope he feels better soon. I’m not a very patient nurse either. Glad you had a nice holiday in happier times.

Fab outfit lib. I love how you always add a great accessory (scarf, bag etc) to really lift an outfit. Are you in lockdown now? Hope things are ok.

We’ve almost survived the first week of homeschool 😬. The kids are very keen to do anything online but we only have one spare laptop which results in many arguments. Needless to say another one is on order. I need to up my lock down outfits. I’m just going for comfort at the moment so wearing a variety of harem style trousers and T-shirts. Whereas it’s great that the sun is out I always find this early spring / autumn weather quite difficult to dress for. Not warm enough for summery outfits but too warm for jumpers etc What is everyone else wearing? How do you all cope with this in between weather?

I saw that the outnet is not shipping any more orders or processing returns at the moment. However they are still taking payments 🙄 (albeit 6 days after an order has been placed). Can’t say I’m surprised....

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 28/03/2020 02:33

checking in from isolation. all the days have blended into one, not sure when the last time i put on proper clothes was but at least im clean! hair could do with a trim but obviously has to wait, i dont want to mess it up trying to do it myself and end up losing the length of it, its waist length now and bright red like the little mermaid! i have compression tights on the way to me fromt he hospital as i have a lot of fluid in my legs so once they arrive ill have to get dressed during the day so i can wear them as im not to wear them at night in bed. guess i should plan some outfits, my wardrobe cull has been put off as my friend who was goign to help me with it obviously cant come round at the moment. it will get done eventually though!

love to you all Thanks

Dreamqueen · 28/03/2020 08:49

Just realised that my last post had so many typos. Need to proof read in future. Sorry.

kitty my condolences and thoughts with you too Flowers

I hope all are coping under lock down. One your hair sounds amazing.

I 've succumbed to another pair of grensons. Look away of you don't like chunky boots. They remind me of an old fashioned ski boot

BerniceBobsHerHair · 29/03/2020 10:45

Sorry to hear about all the ill DHs too

shopafrolic · 30/03/2020 21:07

Love those Bernice
I’ve ordered a new hoodie here for all this lounging. Sick of wearing slippers already.
How are you all?

DryWhiteagainW · 30/03/2020 23:08

Hi all. Gosh, I lost you.
So much has happened, it feels like years and not days have passed.
Kitty I’m so sorry for your loss. Must be very difficult. Flowers
Marvellous sorry to hear about your DH health. Must be good to have him home.

Well, lockdown is going ok here. I get up early every day and get dressed and am wearing make up and doing my hair otherwise I’ll loose the plot. I’m worried that I’ll never get my feet back into heels, it’s slippers all the time at the mo, infact I’ve just ordered a new pair. I also fancy a hoodie Shop. I think lockdown fashion will be a thing......stretchy, comfy, cosy.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 30/03/2020 23:57

So sorry i missed your post abotu your Mum kitty i didn't meant o be rude, i just totally missed it. Very sorry for your loss Thanks

I havent been out of pjs and slippers for the last who knows how long now. at least i am changing to clean ones though, i do have some limits!

Must get dressed properly tomorrow as my ever so stylish compression tights have arrived ( i have a lot of fluid retention in my legs and the tights are medically prescribed) so that means wearing proper clothes.
