Justa we’re way off, still yet to get drawings and pp. I keep deliberating on pain of it all v benefit.

Themarvellousmrsm · 26/02/2020 13:09

It's so quiet on here again. Are we all living our best life elsewhere Grin or just not buying anything?

Anyway, it's quiet here today so have been looking at bags - am loving the tie detail on Loewe bags

Also really like this blouse from Emilia Wickstead (worn with Gucci jeans)

Sandals yes probably comfy Grin

CarolineBingley · 26/02/2020 15:06

I love that bag! It just wouldn't love me bag.

My ootd...M&S pjs and a box of Kleenex!

DryWhiteagainW · 26/02/2020 19:50

Loewe bag is gorgeous.
Get well soon CB
Not many purchases to report Marvellous

libertyonhertravels · 27/02/2020 06:17

No purchases to report either. I've been away with work and just super busy so struggling to keep up with anything. I haven't phoned my mother in about 5 weeks Blush.

That Sesame dress is gorgeous. And love the bag.

Caroline hope you are feeling better.

Covid 19 is such a PITA. I want to book flights home for July but I'm frozen with indecision. No travel insurance will cover anything related to it now.

Has been a lovely hot week here. Hoping to a few more nice weeks before autumn kicks in.

Oh that’s difficult Lib. We’re right in the fug of uncertainty over it, worldwide. My parents travel soon I’m a bit uneasy but I’m pretty sure travel insurance won’t cover them in advance.

Themarvellousmrsm · 27/02/2020 17:20

Hope you're feeling better today Caroline

Snow here today and my day has consisted of jobs and dog walking so ootd is very boring and includes thermals!

We've 2 holidays booked and so far their reported covid19 rates are very low but it's extremely worrying how fast it is spreading. No clue whether insurance would cover a cancellation unless government advice is not to go I guess.

Whoever it was who commented on the pleat back trench in the Split it’s a Burberry

CarolineBingley · 29/02/2020 17:30

Hello! It’s quiet here! Dragged myself out this morning to take dd somewhere but now feel dreadful so am back in bed. Just looking at Selfridges new in and spotted this Ted Baker Beckeey bag and the Saint Laurent Becky bag. Note the names Grin Shock

Applefairy · 01/03/2020 00:07

Dry those cap toed shoes are lovely. I can’t do sling backs as they make my calves look weird - but after the Nicky Hilton picture was posted I looked around Chanel shoes and eventually got some some GR mule cap toes and I am wearing them a lot. I have short legs abs I think they are reasonably flattering on me.

Applefairy · 01/03/2020 00:11

I’m trying to stop spending as much on clothes atm. I have a lot in my wardrobe and I want to focus more on losing weight / fitness so what I have will look good on me.

I’m am eying off a long puffer coat for winter (I’m still in summer in Southern Hemisphere). What are your thoughts, Voguettes? Any other winter key items you have had a lot of wear from last season?

Applefairy · 01/03/2020 00:44

Sezane dress is nice too. I am trying to work out how to pull off the volume and length of that style of dress at my short height. The country road one that Liberty has, I loved. But I tried it on and it did not love me at all.

In the NAP sale remnants I picked up a (final sale) Ulla Johnson 70s style dress - purely because I was so drawn to the fabric. It fits at the top but I will take it to my dressmaker to see what ideas he has to make it more flattering on me.

My love of new fashion styles and creative self- expression is why I need to stop buying new things and play around more with what I have. I remember my teenage years and playing around with everything I had in the mirror - I think I will do more of that and less browsing online and see if it makes a difference!

When I was young I would read my mother’s Vogue for inspiration. I also used to take her cast offs and dye them and alter thrift shop finds etc - these days the click throughs (and my own salary!) make it so much easier to buy the look - rather than create new looks with what I have.

CarolineBingley · 01/03/2020 08:28

I know what you mean Apple, I really didn’t buy that much over the last year through a combination of lots of good things in the wardrobe already and not being in the mood. I think I have felt like that for a while.

I do however have a new puffer coat Grin. They have been ubiquitous this winter. My opinion is that if you’re short then the long ones are really hard to pull off without looking dowdy. I was actually given mine as a Christmas present by dsis and absolutely love it. It’s the Superdry mountain super Fuji jacket. Really stylish and warm. It’s just above the knee on me so not too long or too short. Originally I was only going to wear it on weekends but I have worn it over dresses and with boots on bad weather work days.

DryWhiteagainW · 01/03/2020 09:01

Apple great shoes. I’m chuffed with mine and desperate to wear them but another storm and occasional snow here Shock it’s going to be a while.
I think everyone needs a puffer coat. I’m 5ft 3 and wear one to knee length, the thing is though I need them fitted or belted or I look huge. I also need a new one, must be washable and waterproof though. Hard to find. Still wearing the one Liberty bought from Seasalt years ago. Going strong as a “performance” coat

DryWhiteagainW · 01/03/2020 09:09

And honestly, who thinks of these hideously unflattering trends? Ok if you’re 6ft.....not for me!!!!

CarolineBingley · 01/03/2020 09:14

Those trends aren't meant for us hon.Grin

When I was on holiday last week, I had the best ever manicure and pedicure. I have had lovely red nails that didn't chip for the whole week. It's exhausting fighting the chipsGrin

DryWhiteagainW · 01/03/2020 20:01

Ha!

libertyonhertravels · 02/03/2020 17:58

Those looks only work on a really small group of people dry. Really tall and thin and not in a professional environment!

Interesting posts apple. I need to play around with my stuff more as well and try some different ways of styling things. I'd open up loads more possibilities if I could shift 5kg. Feeling very unmotivated though.

Interesting that the Country Road dress didn't work for you. It's definitely a taller person dress - I'm not very tall - 167cms - and it looks best when I wear it with block heels to get another bit of height.
