Ok, the last pic is of Fatima Al Remaihi, CEO of the Doha Film Institute.

Vintage Chanel is Penelope Cruz

libertyonhertravels · 10/02/2020 09:55

DD cut a fringe into her hair this evening. She spent about an hour with her hair in a towel trying to hide it then burst into tears. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Thanks for Oscars pics MrsM

Marsha I must go back and check out your 100 best dresses link.

I'm liking the idea of glasual. Bringing some joy and glamour to everyday!!

Oh Lib rite of passage it seems 🙈

Themarvellousmrsm · 10/02/2020 12:14

Oh dear Lib poor dd (🤣) can the hairdress tidy it up? It'll soon grow back.

Love the idea of glasual - to that end I'm going to wear my leather skirt to work tomorrow with a chunky polo neck and shoe boots. I've not worn it for ages and keep wearing other things to go out in instead.

Having a very lazy day today - recovering from some sort of virus which meant cancelling meal with friends on Friday and a party on Saturday. About to binge watch This is Us season 3

shopafrolic · 10/02/2020 18:36

Oh Lib I remember my niece doing that. Except she wanted to not have a fringe so she cut it all off to the hairline. Laughing and mortified all at once. I suggest hats Grin

libertyonhertravels · 11/02/2020 00:36

The fringe is so short it's ridiculous but hopefully can be tidied into something passable in a month or so. I put a wide hairband on her this morning. Agree it seems to be a preteen rite of passage.

I'm wearing big earrings today to add some glam to my day.

Karcheer, I do remember you posting that and I wasn’t a fan!Grin I think it was depth of winter I couldn’t imagine wearing them. I see them as something for holidays rather than hanging about inGrin Those topshop ones are very good dupes!

I have gone through all the Oscar gowns and my conclusion is that it wasn’t a great year for the OscarsGrin.

Lib poor you, I lived in fear of dd doing this with her glorious hair when she found it a pain the arse, thankfully that phase has passed.

Currently lying in bed as Ds not well. Will get up shortly for work. I loved yesterday’s outfit for work. I wore a long black very fitted Roland Mouret dress with the zip going down right the back (no big bloat inducing lunches with this dress!!), worn with R&B black suede ankle boots. Long black cashmere MaxMara coat and black Prada handbag. Jewellery was my new love letter necklace, gold Gucci bangle watch and 3 gold pomalleto stacking rings. Loved this simple look so much, not sure how I top it today! Only thing that ruined it was chipping my nail and hiding my hand for the rest of the day!

MarshaBradyo · 11/02/2020 08:56

That does sound pretty perfect Caroline

Lib that’s a good solution, a soft wide headband can look ok.

I really don’t want dd to do it when she’s older, but if I start early and say don’t to pre empt it’d probably put the idea in her mind!

libertyonhertravels · 11/02/2020 10:33

It's the second incident with DD's hair. About 2.5 years ago she was doing hairstyles with her cousin and they got a hair tie tangled in her hair and they decided to cut it out taking a huge clump out of the middle of DDs hair. My poor SIL was mortified. At least this one is self inflicted.

Joined a new gym today. Looking forward to doing some classes and upping my fitness.

Caroline your outfit sounds fantastic. I love that Boodles initial necklace. So pretty.

@CarolineBingley I’ve been eyeing up those necklaces, think I’m going to treat myself to one next time I’m in london.

justasecond · 11/02/2020 21:42

Hi all
Hope your dd is not feeling too bad about her fringe lib I once tried to trim ds's fringe. He looked like Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber Grin

Love the Rixo links. I wish I had an occasion to wear a dress.

Did you find star socks shop I sometimes wear sheer polka dot ones ones with my golden goose and cropped trousers or cullotes. I think they add something to a boring winter outfit.

MrsM i am with you on a low spend Feb and probably the rest of the year as we are about to have building work too.
Glad you are happy with your kitchen stokey I bet its lovely. I might pick your brains!
Marsha we will be having an extension at the back and will be moving the kitchen as well as internal reorg of downstairs. we will stay in the house as upstairs is not being touched. When we extended before (double storey and re config upstairs) we also stayed in the house .We had one bed and bathroom upstairs and kitchen was not part of work. It was ok although not that comfortable but good to be around and keep an eye on everything.
Dry those MD boots are lovely.I find their footwear really well made.
The Sam Edelman boots I ordered from the Anna sale are keepers. A little bit big but nothing an insole can't fix!

MarshaBradyo · 11/02/2020 22:53

Justa exciting. I have so many questions but I don’t want to clog the thread!

Don’t tell me the winner, as we’re on episode 4 but I’m loving Next in Fashion. So good Grin
Fairly well known designers up against each other, judged by P Lim etc each time. It gets tense. So good. I have a clear clear favourite.

shopafrolic · 12/02/2020 07:36

Is that the one with Alexa Chung @MarshaBradyo?

MarshaBradyo · 12/02/2020 07:55

Shop yep that’s it, I nearly didn’t continue as I found the presenters a bit much but then got into it. We’ve guessed each time the right winner and person leaving. Some really nice designs.

DryWhiteagainW · 12/02/2020 20:25

Hello everyone.
Lib it’s taken me ages to look at all of the wonderful links. I love the gold sandals you linked for me, perfect !

DryWhiteagainW · 12/02/2020 21:23

Oh “glasual” fab, this is how I dress for work Grin

Themarvellousmrsm · 14/02/2020 08:17

Anyone been watching The Split? I love Hannah Stern's grey/blue trench-I searched for ages then got bored but can't find where it's from. Some great corporate dressing.

MNV Vol 88 - start of a new roaring 20's??
Themarvellousmrsm · 14/02/2020 08:18

What you can't see from that pic is the flap bit at the back is softly pleated-so unusual.

MarshaBradyo · 14/02/2020 08:57

Oh I didn’t know it was back MrsM will watch it after Next in Fashion. Not sure on coat though, they should list it.

I remember thinking the blonde guy was very good looking and someone at work like that would make me blush just dealing with him 😂

Themarvellousmrsm · 14/02/2020 09:39

All the episodes are on iPlayer Marsha so I've binged watched; hope there's a series 3. And yes, he is rather handsome.

Ootd thus far is yoga pants, anti slip socks, wafty top and black hoody-off to class now.

DryWhiteagainW · 15/02/2020 19:03

I’m in love the Dune two time we’re no good for me so I’m still on th lookout for two toned pointy flats.

DryWhiteagainW · 15/02/2020 19:03

You know what I mean Grin

MarshaBradyo · 15/02/2020 19:05

Ooh love those Dry, really you.
