Royal style: forget all your stresses as we talk royal dresses

Previous thread

Now. A request. Can we please keep this to critiquing the clothes rather than the wearer?

So if you want to talk about what Meghan's wearing then fine, go ahead. I'm not even saying you have to like everything she wears. This applies to all royal women - if you don't like an outfit then do feel free to say so.

But if you want to talk about "Megxit" then please go to one of the many many other MN threads about it and leave us to our clothes chatter!

I think you are projecting there @beanaseireann. I wouldn't think very highly of a man who took his moods out on his wife and children and there's no evidence that William is like that.

I should think William is very aware of how bloody lucky he is to have Kate - moreso now than ever!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 13/01/2020 19:18

William & Kate are in Bradford on Wednesday.
I hope she is in a new frock. She bloody deserves it

Rhubarbisevil · 13/01/2020 19:19

Hello @DreamingofSunshine welcome to the thread!! Criticise the clothes, not the wearer, etc but any historical tiara knowledge is most welcome!

MakeMineALargeProsecco · 13/01/2020 19:20

This popped up on my FB page: it's a link to her pre-marriage outfits.

I hope Kate has invited Harry round to KP, they’ve got the Dominoes in plus a 6 pack of Carlsberg Special Brew, and they’re putting the (Royal) world to rights. Harry is currently playing sardines with George and Charlotte and they’ve found the secret cupboard with all the skeletons in it.

itswinetime · 13/01/2020 19:27

If there is a new frock it will be at the reception they are hosting at the end of the week. 2 new frocks in one week I think is unlikely at the moment but I'm happy to be surprised.

TSSDNCOP · 13/01/2020 19:34

Please God let it not be Emilia Wicksted or Erdem! Now is the time to break out the big guns and a fuck off set of diamonds.

AudacityOfHope · 13/01/2020 19:34

Arf at Kate deserving a new dress 🤣

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/01/2020 19:43

What's Kate done to "deserve" a new dress?? I suspect we'll see a coat and boots, given the weather.

OP posts:
megletthesecond · 13/01/2020 19:54

I realise everyone dressed like it in those days but I can't get over the DoC's atomic kitten style jeans, uggs and fake tan. At least she had fun in her 20's.

ajandjjmum · 13/01/2020 19:55

Oscar worthy jewels for Kate at the Reception please HM.

She quietly and efficiently supported her DH and his family through a shitty week. And shown how a great 'in-law' should behave.

RomaineCalm · 13/01/2020 19:57

RhubarbisEvil GrinGrinGrin
I hope so too. Deliveroo will just be getting the KP order ready.

My money is on a patterned dress for Wednesday with boots and a trench coat.

Thisenglishlife · 13/01/2020 19:59

Efficiently supported?

A coat rewear for Bradford?

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/01/2020 19:59

I'm sure she was supportive but we really have no idea what she's done! She's been pictured in her car twice in the past week but I'm not sure what you can extrapolate from that.

Anyway I hope she has a decent frock for the reception so that we have something to discuss.

beanaseireann · 13/01/2020 20:07

I love that pink coat.

AdaColeman · 13/01/2020 20:17

Kate will need her big coat on for Wednesday!

itswinetime · 13/01/2020 20:18

Yes I agree Bradford will be a coat and boots, I haven't seen proper plan for the day but if there are any indoor events I would like to see trousers and a jumper. No skinny jeans though if your reading Kate 😉

The reception should be interesting frock wise here's hoping 2020 is the year Kate breaks from the busy pattered, high necked and long sleeved dresses. I think it's to much to hope for her to leave erderm in 2019 but I guess we can all hope.

Thisenglishlife · 13/01/2020 20:33

I love that pink coat. It's by Mulberry @beanaseireann

And a big fat yes to all your points @itswinetime

hopeishere · 13/01/2020 20:55

Agree on the pink coat! Gorgeous. Off to google Mulberry prices.

On another thread I've also predicted Meghan presenting an Oscar this year!

Thisenglishlife · 13/01/2020 21:22

Kate's coat was £1500. Mulberry coats start from around £750. Hobbs have a shade in a similar shade at the moment for around £200:

paradyning · 13/01/2020 21:22

Wow can't recall seeing Kate in Uggs before!
It's crazy how the high vamp on the shoes looks so dated now. (Like her friend in the cab)

Thisenglishlife · 13/01/2020 21:22

A coat in a similar shade

beanaseireann · 13/01/2020 21:29

Thank you Thisenglishlife

Thisenglishlife · 13/01/2020 21:31

Quite like this coat, which I don't remember seeing before:
Christopher Kane slim fitted dogtooth wool tailored coat with belt” worn with a “mini dogtooth wool kilt with belt.” Both pieces were made bespoke for Kate.
