This thread is for those that LOVE beauty products... so much so they hoard them, and covet them and behold the beauty that they contain 🥰🥰🥰🥰

It’s also a good idea to use smaller sizes up first so you feel you’re getting somewhere. If I come across something I’m not keen on I’ll repurpose it to use it up on my legs, feet or hands

LizziesTwin · 12/01/2020 08:49

I’ve just finished the Herbivore Orchid oil from the Liberty Advent calendar. Really like it but I’ve got a huge bottle of Icelandic facial oil a friend gave me that I need to finish working my way through. I love the Caudalie anti brown spot serum, bought a gift set in the Space NK sale which included it for half price (whoops). I need to do an audit but I’m sorting out DS’s Lego to sell/give away first.

TheChosenTwo · 12/01/2020 09:26

Thanks @70isaLimitNotaTarget - that’s useful to know.
Annoyingly we’ve got people round for Sunday lunch today and really I’m just itching to sort through everything and see what’s actually there! Mine is mainly skincare and makeup, could probably lose a few things On accounts of me just never using them. Might clear out some drawer space at least.

Costacoffeeplease · 12/01/2020 11:58

2 espa minis today, one shower oil and one facial serum. Love espa products since I had a facial at while staying at a hotel with one of their spas last year. I’m booked to go back in March Smile

RiskIt4Biscuit · 12/01/2020 21:01

Finished an O'Keeffe's Working Hands hand cream with help from DH.
It's a really good cream, and I have bought two more as DH likes it and actually uses it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/01/2020 21:49

Finished :

BodyShop CandyCane showergel 60ml size ( DD had in last years Christmas gifts set)
BodyShop TeaTree face wash (one of DS but I used up the dregs to get rid)

There is a Buldog showergel and a Scharamouche&Fandango showergel sitting on the taps for DS to finish up then they can go out this week.

KOKO Wink

Costacoffeeplease · 12/01/2020 22:03

My husband uses okeefes too as he has very dry skin on one hand in particular

CantChoose · 13/01/2020 21:41

Ooo missed the new thread!
I have finished a l’occitaine divine cream, a mini one. I absolutely love this and would buy full size if I didn’t have plenty of stash plus it costs a fortune. But it’s lovely...

RiskIt4Biscuit · 13/01/2020 23:13

Finished an Espa Overnight Hydration Therapy mask.

Really enjoyed this one, but I doubt I'll ever buy it as it's not really the type of product I use much. Got it in an advent calendar, and it was fun to try something I wouldn't have thought of buying myself.
I really love the herbal scent though.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 14/01/2020 12:53

Just finished a Kevyn Aucoin liquid contour wand.
I feel like I've used this a lot, despite it only containing 5ml (seems like very little product for the price).
I really have enjoyed this and have 3 or so backups already (bought on sale).

Caggie09 · 14/01/2020 18:44

Chsmpneys citrus blush body butter. On first whiff this smells like pilau rice, didnt fancy smelling like a curry, but when on my skin i did get the citrus scent and the cardamon.. Now onto the next body butter🕺

Jo Loves White Rose & Lemon leaves perfume sample. By the look on my collegues face, this scent wasnt a good one🙈 I enjoyed it more in the bath cologne rather than an everyday fragrance.

Sounds like i smell awful with these two empties😂

ememem84 · 14/01/2020 20:21

Lime and bay shower gel used. And that’s all the white co ones done. Some were nice. Some not so great. But gone.

Onto clarins one next.

CherryMargo · 14/01/2020 21:05

Here goes my first empty for 2020 📦 🚮 ✅ The report below demonstrates what type of data I add to my database ✍️

Category: Face Makeup Remover

Name / size: Rodial Dragon's Blood Micellar Cleansing Water (100 ml)

Manufacture date / expiry date: unknown (i.e. might have passed its shelf life by the time I opened it / used it up) / 6 months after opening

Obtained / started / finished: 20-11-2018 / 30-09-2019 / 14-01-2020 (i.e. used up within 6 months)

Potentially harmful ingredients: NONE

Cruelty-free? YES

Cost: £0 (GWP)

My review: a very convenient pump dispenser, but each pump releases too much product; does not dehydrate my skin like many micellar cleansers do, but for those with sensitive skin it is still recommended to wash it off after use; avoid contact with eyes (it stings a lot!).

Would I re-purchase? NO

A total number of products left in the category: 3 deluxe samples and 1 full-size.

Welcome @thechosentwo !!! You are in good company!

@riskit interesting what you say about the hand cream... I am not at all impressed with it... but to be fair my hands are in a terrible state

@cherrymargo database??????? I am so impressed!!!!!
are you sure you are not Caroline Hirons in disguise???

Amazeballs progress everyone!!! Very morivational!!!

I have two empties:

  • Head & Shoulders 2 in 1: thought I would give this a whirl and see if it helped with my oily hair situation... was ok but nothing to write home about
  • Drunk Elephant C-Tango multivitamin eye cream: I thinked the consistency and how it sunk in... have my wrinkles disappeared? Um no... anyhoo have some other creams in stash but might return to this at some point

Argh, fuck!!! I’ve just broken my ‘ no spend’ rule by caving and buying a Guerlain Terracotta bronzer before getting on a flight earlier. My reasoning was that I didn’t sleep well last night, look like shit, and have loads of meetings today. Someone recommended it on another website as being HG bronzer.
It’s ok, but not sure it’s worth £33.

On, and bought a shiny ‘glaze’ clear lipstick from L’Oréal and an OPI nail varnish. Fuck.

On a plus note, I’ve finished a shampoo, conditioner, hairspray and a Kiko lipstick.

tigerbear · 15/01/2020 14:00

Plus, all the above were bought in duty free, which never counts as proper spending, right? 😃

Experiment627 · 15/01/2020 14:26

@tigerbear I can confirm that Duty Free does not count GrinWink

Babysharkdoodoodood · 15/01/2020 15:33

I just went in here (see photo) and did not buy a thing! I was busting for a wee at the time and couldn't be bothered. I think I have product fatigue.

tigerbear · 15/01/2020 16:04

@Experiment627 haha, glad you agree! Grin

TheChosenTwo · 15/01/2020 17:02

Duty free spending most definitely doesn’t count as real spending. I thought everyone knew this Grin

CherryMargo · 15/01/2020 21:18

@Experiment627 😄😄😄 yeah it probably sounds like a serious case of OCD but creating the database for my skincare/makeup/personal hygiene products & tools was a major step towards understanding the level of my disaster. And it also prevents me from developing another bad habit – buying products that I already had before and disliked but somehow forgot about them. Now when I consider buying a certain product, I consult my database first, and see whether I tried it before, and (if yes) what my thoughts were.

tigerbear · 15/01/2020 22:21

@TheChosenTwo I’m starting to regret it though. The last duty free purchase I made before these two is already languishing in the ‘duds’ pile. Sisley mascara - the biggest waste of money ever, and the most expensive mascara I’ve ever bought. I think my Rimmel one is better!

TheChosenTwo · 15/01/2020 22:27

Oh no! Which one was it, I’ve got the So Intense (?) one and think it’s crap!!
Not tried any others by Sisley but I’m not rushing back to after the price of that one for its poor performance.
Consider yourself a step up from me that at least you got yours duty free - I paid full price Sad

StatisticallyChallenged · 15/01/2020 22:35

I'm holding strong so far, despite major temptation - my skin had some sort of evil reaction ( I think to TheOrdinary AHA/BHA peel but not sure) and was peeling, burning, itchy, dark patches under eyes. Fucking awful. The temptation to go and buy a Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic (my fave cooling and soothing mask) was strong but I'm currently slathered in Clinique Moisture Surge overnight mask for the 3rd night running and it seems to be helping.

I also totally overdid the concealer and settling this morning hiding said dark patches, didn't realised til I got home that I looked like I was going for the geisha look! Hazards of being paler than a ghost

FiveShelties · 16/01/2020 04:17

May I join --- again, please?

I was on the first thread and using stuff up before I returned to NZ. Now back in NZ with piles of stuff again - moved lots from UK in 2017and still have lots of that untouched, together with many many additions. Have decided the time has come (again) and no more Cosmetics, Clothes or Cleaning products unless absolutely necessary. How odd my vices all begin with C - except for wineGrin
