New Year, new thread!!!! Continuing the great work already started!!!

This thread is for those that LOVE beauty products... so much so they hoard them, and covet them and behold the beauty that they contain 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Some more empties. Liked the Judith Williams cleansing mousse but have approx 12 full size cleansers to get through!

Caggie09 · 14/08/2020 17:57

Ah that doesnt tempt me either. I had Fortnum's last year and like Liberty they just have the same brands in it every year, but different products. I can see 3 products that were in last years too. Also, might be on my own with this one, but i feel like putting makeup bags in advents is a cop out. I have plenty, it will get thrown in a drawer until the others are manky. Maybe this year ill save some pennies if they dont excite me!

IlonaRN · 15/08/2020 10:38

I really like the makeup bag in that Fortnum's calendar! As I'm not keen on the other items, though, I won't be getting it (and have far too big a stash to warrant paying £195 for some things I might not like!)

Hello :) I think I posted once or twice on an older version of this thread - I am still using up my stash - though I admit to adding to it occasionally too!

I am mostly through all my stashed shampoos (have mostly moved to solid shampoo now, though am tempted by Boucleme as my hair seems to be getting curlier), and will soon be through my stashed hand creams too. I have found the most amazing solid hand cream which is the only one I will be buying in future - it completely healed cracks in my fingers within a couple of days when I first tried it!

Caggie09 · 15/08/2020 20:40

Empties this week:

  • Imperial leather marshmallow shower cream.
-Bum Bum cream mini. Still have 3 left of this product.
  • Elemis Rose body cream. I love this rose scent, not the old lady rose type. The cream itself is abit meh.. was left with a slight glow and the scent lingered all day.
  • Olaplex No3 treatment. At first i dont think i used it correctly as i thought it was abit crap. If i leave on over an hour or two you can notice a difference once dried. Looks healthier, the ends of my hair dont look dry and dead. I would repurchase as a treat.
  • SGX NYC dry shampoo. Got on 3 for 2 at Boots. Its very lightweight, you can run your fingers through your roots and not feel the powder im your hair. You wouldnt know you had a dry shampoo in your hair, its a coconut scent too. It did start making my head itch though the more i used it. Ill use the other 2 up, but would buy again.
  • Drunk Elephant B-Hydra. I liked this, and i would buy it again. I liked the fact it wasnt a typical serum, it was a cooling gel like liquid.
  • Milk Vegan moisturiser. Too thick for me, was hard to move around my face. A basic product, probably a cheaper version out there!
  • UltraSun Face spf50. Didnt sting my eyes, no fragrance didnt taste this one on my lips all day. I bought the Garnier face fluid for £5/6, so if that doesnt agree with me, ill buy this one. It didnt make me greasy throughout the day.

That is all for nowGrin

stepmotherofone · 15/08/2020 22:01

More from me. I love this thread, it’s really making go me think about using stuff up

• 111 Skin sheet mask. Really nice but they’re £20 a go so not a normal purchase for me

• Kate Somerville Exfolikate Scrub. Far too strong/harsh for my poor face. Only made the connection when using the dregs up as my skin has been relatively clear for ages but I’ve broken out in some really deep and painful spots since using this.

I also gave away a few bits to a friend but can’t remember what they were!

WellTidy · 16/08/2020 12:44

An empty: 100ml Pixi retinol tonic.

Please can someone recommend a product for me to replace this with, or is this product considered to be pretty good? I have been using it a few times a week (at night) and I don’t know if it is making any difference, as at the same time as I started using his, I also started using Elemis cleansing balm and Dr Sebagh hyaluronic acid and maybe that is what is making a difference to my skin!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 16/08/2020 22:48

Finished a Lacuna Q10 night cream. I liked this but only other night crean I have tried is the superdrug radience one that stung a bit. I've a clarins one to try next.

Costacoffeeplease · 17/08/2020 10:59

Another bunch of empties. All my skin care now fits in two shelves of the bathroom cabinet, so that’s some progress, I don’t know the last time that was possible

Make up is another matter, that takes so much longer to use up

ememem84 · 18/08/2020 22:14

Sanctuary bath bubbles - ok but not something I’d buy myself

Nyx gel liner - hated it. I think I posted a while back saying I’d ditched it but I decided to give it another go. Still hated it. Binned.

Double serum clarins - love this. Mil bought it for me for my
Birthday last year. Love.

Clinique take the day off - love.

Boots baby bar soap - gone.

CherryMargo · 21/08/2020 16:33

Congratulations on your progress, @Costacoffeeplease! I dream of a day when all my skincare can fit into one cabinet.

August is my birthday month, and I picked my gift of 4 deluxe samples from Space NK a few days ago. When I returned home, and opened one of the drawers to put those samples there, I suddenly felt completely overwhelmed (to the point of disgust) with my hoard. It just feels like there’s no end to this journey, yet I cannot bring myself to throw anything out... hides her face in shame

CherryMargo · 22/08/2020 16:58

Empty no. 37 🚮 Zelens Z Luminous Brightening Serum (1 ml; GWP).

A watery yellow serum with the subtle smell of freesia (I think? 🤨). My skin was red for up to 10 minutes after application, but there was no burning sensation. A 1 ml sachet provided two very generous applications which, of course, was not enough to see any results with regard to dark spots and discolourations.

The customers’ opinions are divided: some give it 5 stars, and quite a few give it 1 star saying that this serum is ‘basically silicone with some niacinamide and fragrance’. For a price of £140 for 30 ml, this serum seems to be quite a risky investment!

A total number of products left in the face oil / serum category: 2 foil sachets, 7 deluxe samples and 6 full-size products.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 23/08/2020 12:28

Finished Superdrug vit c cleansing pads. Liked these a lot but got a full size clearasil clenser to use up next.

Caggie09 · 24/08/2020 09:53

Used up more bits.

Ren clean screen spf. Hated this, leaves you looking pale and you have to rub jt in for a while to get rid of the white cast.

Goldfaden vital boost. Was okay, nothing special.

Kate Somerville Exfolikate treatment. I love this, and did repurchase. It is strong, and can leave you looking almost burned. Bjt the results are great. I use once a week, will continue to repurchase.

Patchology sheet mask. I liked it, skin looked good the next morning.

Too Faced Primed and peachy. Im not a fan of matte primers, feel like they such moisture out my skin. This one didnt, i find i liked it more than Benefit Porefessional. I wont be buying though.

Upcircle body scrub. Love a coffee scrub for the body. Makes a mess of the shower and the tube it's in is fiddly. Ill buy again!

Also doesnt count as an empty, but i lost my favourite lipbalm, i was guttedSad Moved onto a Burts Bees one!

Caggie09 · 24/08/2020 13:26

SpaceNK calendar contents!

Not sure whats wrong with me this year, but none wow me.. Thinking i might just spend my budget on full size items i want and would like to try, or do GWP and make my own advent..

More empties, plus a Judith Williams neck and décolleté cream

Beauty Hoarders anonymous - you have got to be in it to win it!!!!
stepmotherofone · 25/08/2020 20:23

More empties from me Grin

Malin & Goetz AHA treatment. Used it on my spots. Not sure whether it helped or not

M&S Rose Quartz bath salts. Really nice!

Dr Jart Cicapair repair serum. Did seem to help with redness/sensitivity but not enough to buy it again.

Blistex Intensive Moisturiser. Didn’t like the cherry flavouring/scent despite trying so I binned it as have plenty of lip products I actually like using!

Burts Bees Pomegranate- as above!

Flowerology hair dye. Dunno whether it was the dye or my shoddy application but I still look very grey!

Cle oxygen foam cleanser. I really liked this and I managed to get my hands on another one (Latest in Beauty) but not sure I like it enough to track it down (and spend the ££) when the new one runs out.

No.7 sheet mask. I loved this as it had loops to go round your ears so I could move around with it on. Only used it this evening so can’t comment on whether it’s done my skin any good or not.

I’ve also just given away a load of unused moisturisers that aren’t suitable for my skin type so I’m slowly getting there with reclaiming my storage space

Experiment627 · 26/08/2020 13:10

Ooopsie! Fell off my own thread there!!!

Beautiful advent calendar chat 💕 💕 💕

Fab idea @CherryMargo - if only I had your creativity

@CherryMargo there are much worse addictions please do not be too hard on yourself

I quite like the look of the SpaceNK advent just not so keen on the price tag 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I wonder if Amazon are doing one again this year - I really liked theirs last year.

So first photo is stuff that I have not used up but does not work for moi so going to women's shelter

Second photo is of empties - all liked except the Balanceme rose oil - was not a fan on the smell.

Finally finished a Bodyshop ginger yogurt. Not replacing
Also a mini Clarins Mascara.

Costacoffeeplease · 27/08/2020 23:13

This thread is so enabling 😄 a little order winging its way from cult beauty including their goody bag!

CherryMargo · 28/08/2020 00:35

Thank you, @Experiment627 ! 🙏 You’re always so kind and supportive! ❤️

I am trying to keep the number of products that enter my apartment as low as possible, and so far in 2020 I’ve acquired – through purchases and gifts – 7 full-size products and 5 deluxe samples in total. What I am really struggling with is using up/throwing out 🥺 But enough about me… back to reviews!

Empty no. 38 🚮 TIGI Bed Head Urban Antidotes Recovery Moisture Shampoo (75 ml; GWP).

Got it from feelunique during Black Friday last year. In the past there were occasions when feelunique sent me expired or nearly expired GWPs, so I inspected the date embossed on the seam, and it said September 2018. I do hope it was the manufacture date, ‘cause if it was the expiration date, then last November I received shampoo which expired 14 months prior to that 😬

As for the product itself, it is a pale green cream shampoo with an intense scent of exotic fruit. I used it as the second step after using a shampoo which is designed to boost hair growth but – due to its active ingredients – makes my scalp super itchy, and I must say that this TIGI shampoo did a perfect job soothing my scalp immediately! It also left my hair very soft, and created more volume. It contained sodium laureth sulfate though, so it faded my hair colour.

A total number of products left in the shampoo category: 2 deluxe samples and 2 full-size products.

@Experiment627 the solid hand cream bars are these ones from the Edingburgh Natural Skincare Co:
www.edinburghskincare.com/product-category/hand-care/solid-hand-cream-bars/

They totally healed cracks in my hands within a couple of days! They don't have any "nasty" stuff in either, and the ones I have tried smell amazing. I have given a couple as gifts to my Mum and MiL, and they were pleased with them too.
Once I have used up all my other hand creams, I will only be buying these in future!

Costacoffeeplease · 29/08/2020 11:07

More empties. A Charlotte tilbury pillow talk lip pencil, which is the first I’ve tried that I like, and have repurchased. A julep eye liner, which I also liked, went on well and didn’t drag
