Maybe he doesn’t want visitors? Whenever I’m in hospital I prefer to rest & spend most of my time sleeping.

BlingLoving · 23/12/2019 17:33

That's a good point. And actually is a different spin on my point about people of a different generation taking different approaches. I can actually see him not wanting to seem vulnerable in hospital and being happy just to tough it out and not have people make a fuss.

Thanks! I do worry because I have always had a soft spot for him. I'm sure he's not perfect and who knows if he was or wasn't faithful back in the day but I do think he's set a standard for royal consort that is impressive, particularly for a man of his upbringing and generation. And like Charles I think some of his ideas were very forward looking and I admire him for pushing them forward.

AppleKatie · 23/12/2019 18:30

Without a shadow of a doubt if he wanted visitors he’d have them. It seems alien to us but it’s how they do it.

MotherofPearl · 23/12/2019 19:10

Has everyone seen that Charlene has done a photo shoot and interview with a South African magazine:
https://www.newmyroyals.com/2019/12/princess-charlene-gave-interview-to.html?m=1

I've attached some of the stills.

I like the colour of the suit but the cut is dreadfully unflattering. And that photo with the dog is unfortunate as she's been captured mid-sentence. Also, if that is really her office/study, it seems a bit soulless.

Wow not a great photographer!

paradyning · 23/12/2019 20:19

Terrible terrible suit

AudacityOfHope · 23/12/2019 20:24

That suit is huge on her Confused

justasking111 · 23/12/2019 20:37

Wonder what clothes we will see on xmas day, some nice coats and boots I hope.

itswinetime · 23/12/2019 20:40

Re the Tindall's and Sandringham I don't think the Tindall children have started doing the walk yet but Zara and Mike were there last year.

Love that video of Charles ironing!

AppleKatie · 23/12/2019 20:45

Lovely picture of Zara but I can almost hear her saying - just smile Mike, next year we can stay at home I promise 😂

Spudlet · 23/12/2019 20:50

Charles ‘ironing’ is basically a visual definition of privilege right there Grin Hopeless man, hopeless!

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/12/2019 20:54

Kate was in red last year so maybe green this year? Or is that saved for St Patrick's Day? Am trying to think if there are any colours we've not seen her in. Yellow isn't very wintery and I'm not sure it would suit her. A rusty orange? Purple?

She wore a green check/tartan one year Not sure she has ever worn solid green at Christmas 🤔 she might go for navy take her chance before Meghan is back Wink

AppleKatie · 23/12/2019 21:13

My money’s on plum (apropos of nothing)

StartupRepair · 23/12/2019 21:25

Those photos of Charlene are just joyless, aren't they?
Charles 'ironing' made me laugh a lot.

peridito · 23/12/2019 21:36

Looking at what Charlene wore in Nov I wonder if she's trying to look as plain as possible /cover up her body in an attempt to deprive Albert of a good looking wife ?

WineOrGinOrBoth · 23/12/2019 22:05

Charlene just looks so unhappy.

MotherofPearl · 23/12/2019 22:10

@peridito She certainly seems to wear some pretty shapeless outfits. As others have said, she just looks utterly miserable.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 23/12/2019 22:12

Why does she look so sad.

RomaineCalm · 23/12/2019 22:15

I'd like to see Kate in a chocolate brown/cream check/tweed this year.

AudacityOfHope · 23/12/2019 22:26

Charlene definitely gives off coded handmaid vibes.

StartupRepair · 23/12/2019 22:36

I can picture the DofE saying 'last thing I want is you all fussing around me. Go to Sandringham and support the Queen'

VanillaSugarr · 23/12/2019 22:43

Charlene looks like she has been driven to the brink of despair.

Has Anne arrived at Sandringham yet? Maybe she’s gone to see Philip?

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 23/12/2019 22:57

Vogue's royal Christmas Day photos

I love the Queen in orange (2017) and with knee high boots (2009), and William and Zara back in 1988.

I would really love to know the whole story about Charlene. He is always smiling and she stands there like he’s got a gun to her back. Absolutely no chemistry of indication they are together in any sense. They never look at each other let alone touch. Something really odd is going on. She looks like she’s being held captive. It’s really disturbing.
Charles patting the iron and then leaving it face down.. it’s embarrassing.
