SunshineCake I'm finally getting around to reading the Julia Baird biography of Victoria: "Victoria The Queen: An Intimate Biography of the Woman Who Ruled an Empire"

So far so good, but I am not far enough along in it yet to make a recommendation. Other people whose opinions I trust say it is very good.

I love Sophie's hat and coat but really hate that style of trousers with the coat. It just looks imbalanced. I get the impression that her and HMQ get on well - they always look very relaxed in each other's company.

Anyone else planning to cook Christmas dinner holding a handbag?

Re seeing H and M in Canada I doubt it they really have gone underground. I wonder if spending time away from it all will make them think about making it permanent. There's no reason for them not to I suppose. Shame for us though.

Purely going of the fact their Instagram has remained pretty active with quotes and throw backs to previous charity works etc I don't think the Sussex's are planning on staying away permanently at the moment. I guess it will all depend on how the press behave when they come back, but I think the most likely outcome is we will see short bursts of the Sussex's tours etc and then they will have periods of disappearing from public life.

For a bit of amusement, here's an old clip of Charles and Kate doing some ironing artwork with children. It's clear that Charles has never used an iron in his life and Kate's expression at 0:40 is priceless, as is the way she doesn't miss a beat in putting the iron he's placed hot-side down(!!) upright again.

Prince Charles pressing down with the iron made me laugh.

To be fair though, I hate ironing, am bad at it and pay people to do it for me, so no judgement at all here.
