I recently had a baby too @KiteflyingKat, DS2 is 4 months old. I’ve completely overhauled my wardrobe & style thanks to SBS & this thread & I’m much happier with my clothes now. I’m in the process of getting my teeth whitened which was another big thing for me. I now have lash extensions thanks to going back to work & having a bit more money. I’m ok with my weight. In the new year I think I’ll buy a hair analysis from SBS & get my hair sorted (although it’s not awful now). Just trying to make myself feel good about me

@happytobemrsg I salute you for looking so good with a 4 month old. Mine is 1.5 now and I’m only just coming out the fog. Glad you’re finding your groove post baby.

I’m broadly happy with my weight but would like to tone up around my stomach. My face just looks awful though, I’m not sure why but I look so haggard all of a sudden. My teeth are pretty straight and white and I think I’ve got a nice enough looking face, I just look rough and I can’t put my finger on why??!!

My hair is terrible though, I have naturally rubbish hair, it’s curly but not nice curls, bits are quite straight and frizzy. I think I need to see a hairdresser who specialises in curly hair rather than a generic hair analysis.

Happierwithouthim · 23/12/2019 19:45

I've been working on self improvement too so joining this thread is the next step.
I now regularly get eyebrows shaped & tinted, keep up my waxing, whiten teeth with Beverly Hills strips regularly & wear makeup most weekends. I've bought a few clothes over past 6 months or so too.

KiteflyingKat · 23/12/2019 19:52

@Happierwithouthim I think the trick is to start one new thing at a time, then once it is ingrained in your routine pick something else. I’ve been focussed on outfit planning and cutting sugary snacks out my diet.
Next is drinking water and exercising more.

Happierwithouthim · 23/12/2019 21:00

Kite I lost quite a bit up to summer time this year & then starting dating & having a few drinks at weekend & put up 7lbs of it again. Walking the dog every day I'm home of the holidays & getting that habit back ingrained again.

My lifestyle doesn't allow for style much
Getting rid of tracksuits about 7 years ago meant I'm marginally better than I was then Grin

ememem84 · 23/12/2019 21:17

Another new baby mama here too. Dd is 4.5 months. I need to overhaul me a bit. Back at work at the end of January and want to be more fabulous.

I know it’s subjective. But I want to look and feel more out together. So as happier said, more time looking after me.

I’m also doing a use it up no spend January so am going to experiment with clothes and make sure I get myself into a routine skincare wise. And water. Must. Drink. More. Water.

KiteflyingKat · 23/12/2019 21:32

@Happierwithouthim I also felt like my lifestyle doesn’t allow for style much nowadays - I went from a London job where I got to wear great dresses and high heels and I regularly went out to dinner etc to maternity leave and now I work from home a lot and spend days off with a toddler!
But I’m realising I just need to adjust my wardrobe a bit, but actually a lot of stuff can be dressed down. Most importantly I’m realising that even if I’m not going anywhere, or just to the park, It’s ok to still make an effort for me and even if I need to wear practical clothes I can choose nice, slightly more stylish ones that I feel good in rather than the same jeggings and jumper I wore everyday on maternity leave that made me feel rubbish

KiteflyingKat · 23/12/2019 21:36

Welcome @ememem84 I am also terrible at drinking water drink lots of coffee though

twosoups1972 · 23/12/2019 22:39

@KiteflyingKat look up Curly Girl method. My dd has curly hair and she hated it. We’ve been doing curly girl for a year and her hair is so much better - less frizz and more defined curls.

twosoups1972 · 23/12/2019 22:43

I’ve downloaded the Stylebook app, on holiday at the moment but will get started when I get home. Do you have to photograph everything to start with? How do you find pictures of this year’s clothes?

Laska2Meryls · 24/12/2019 08:09

Today I'm off out again doing my Christmas food shopping ( yup living in the fast lane!) So it will be another version of leggings and jumper but as it is Christmas, I think I will wear these sparkly ones from Tu ( they were an absolute bargain at £15)

I’m still in the office - hoping to finish around lunchtime if nothing urgent comes in. My only nod to Christmas today is the top (I associate velvet with Christmas - I think someone else said the same).

Velvet top: Phase Eight
Jeans: Gap
Boots: Celtic & Co.

Nice leggings @Laska2Meryls - very festive.

Talisin · 24/12/2019 08:39

Another one working this morning (finish at 1pm). Have just been to the shops to grab the last minute essentials - Bucks Fizz and croissants - and am having a quick coffee before I start.

I saved the sparkliest for last:
Sequin collar jumper (Oasis via Brand Alley)
Tinsel sequin skirt (Oasis)
Boots (Deichman)

@OublietteBravo it was me! Nice outfit and subtle nod to the season. Ditto @Laska2Meryls love those leggings. @talisin I like the jumper!

I have a full day ahead sorting out the house. I have to put up decorations, clean kitchen ( a bit with 2 dogs it's impossible to keep clean), work out where to put wrapped presents as tree is diddy and on a sideboard and at the moment they are on spare room bed where DD1 and BF will want to sleep, make up bed in summerhouse for DS ( it's heated, he will manage) and finish making 'cookies' ( hate that word) with DD which is no mean feat as she is in bed on second floor and kitchen is on ground floor and I have to run up and down with everything in between stages . Made half yesterday and today we have third lot to bake and then all need decorating. It's the only thing we have retained from 'real life' before she got sick 7 years ago. We have to make Christmas cookies but tbh This is only the second year she has even been able to pretend to join in. And then I have to move her into my room so I can clean her room from top to toe, change bedding, scrub en suite, and hopefully put up a few decorations. It's going to be a day of exhaustion for us both. DH asked what he could do to help. I asked him to hoover stairs and landing and bring down washing basket ( my back still dodgy). He said 'can't all that wait until after Christmas?'. He may die...
So I'm dressed with a nod to Xmas but mainly for practicality

Glitter cardigan : this season M&S bargain ( I got both colours)
T shirt: FWP by RAE ( it says bon vintage in leopard)
Jeans: old Boden velvet skinny today in grey

@timswifey lovely boots! I haven’t got a tesco near me otherwise I’d be going in looking for a pair!

StewardsEnquiry · 24/12/2019 10:05

Hello, I haven't read the thread yet. I'm just about to - I will really enjoy it!

I'd love to join in please.

Today I'm wearing a black leather skirt from M&S
Camel Uniqlo cardigan that I haven't worn in years
White shirt from The Fold, ditto

ememem84 · 24/12/2019 10:07

Topshop skinnies (blue - same as yesterday), red plaid flannel shirt - Tommy Hilfiger

Sooverthemill · 24/12/2019 10:10

@StewardsEnquiry welcome! Photos always make us happy!

KiteflyingKat · 24/12/2019 10:12

Happy Christmas Eve everyone & Wine for @Sooverthemill with her busy day.

I’m working from home this morning so I’m wearing jeans and a semi-festive cardigan which is Levi’s and cost me Ā£2.49 from a charity shop.

Church later so I’ll be wearing this DKNY merino wool jumper dress with my Guess ankle boots (both from TK Maxx), black tights and belt which I think was from H&M years ago.

Morning everyone, Happy Christmas Eve!
I'm wearing my new coated skinnies and pink snowflake jumper - both in the photo from Sunday so I won't post another one. I'm not at work today so have been making trifle and peeling potatoes this morning. We're off to DM's later when DH gets home from work - hopefully not too late.

Love all the sparkly Christmas Eve outfits Smile Hope the baking goes well @Sooverthemill and you get some relaxation time later

Veronicat · 24/12/2019 11:39

Christmas jumper day at work! £5 ebay bargain from Next.

Just for you @happytobemrsg, I have dragged myself away from the umpteenth repeat of Death on the Nile and photographed the skirt in situ. Possibly one of the few things I own that doesn’t look quite black in a photo Xmas Grin
