Airport browsing in Hamleys. Is it weird that my first thoughts were - reminds me of Sophie’s tiara on the left and Kate’s on the right?

Did anyone see Michael Macintyre last night. “Send to all” star was Ellie Goulding and Beatrice replied to the message!

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/12/2019 16:33

Well I think we've found who might be the entertainment for Beatrice's wedding then! Didn't Ellie sing at William's or Harry's wedding too?

DobbyTheHouseElk · 15/12/2019 17:09

I think she did.

StCharlotte · 15/12/2019 18:07

She sang at William and Kate's. Didn't one or even both York girls attend her wedding?

BigGreenOlives · 15/12/2019 18:50

We got married on a Friday so our wedding didn’t interfere with Cowes Week. My mum went to an art class in the morning & asked me to make lunch for her, my godmother & my dad before the wedding (late afternoon wedding). I guess I’m used to the idea of avoiding certain periods of time.

StartupRepair · 15/12/2019 20:15

Beatrice always goes to Ascot. (Lucky she can get so much leave from work!). I'm sure she would automatically avoid key dates in the social calendar, just as the rest of us know not to schedule a wedding on Christmas day.

NoGravyForYou · 15/12/2019 21:32

Kate and Mary Berry is on tonight isn't she?

frugalkitty · 15/12/2019 21:39

BigGreenOlives I'd have liked to be married in St Mildred's church in Whippingham on the island.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/12/2019 21:55

@NoGravyForYou tomorrow night.

frugalkitty Ooh my cousins lived in Whippingham. I imagine at least one of them would have been married there. I shall ask them...

BigGreenOlives · 15/12/2019 22:10

@frugalkitty My parents always went to Cowes Week so our wedding couldn’t spoil their trip. We got married back in the dark ages when people didn’t plan months ahead & have long engagements.

frugalkitty · 15/12/2019 22:19

BigGreenOlives we got engaged on Christmas Eve and my mum thought we'd be married two summers later. I'm far too impatient for that, so by about two weeks after new year it was booked and ready for that summer.

StCharlotte I'm very envious if so! We live the other end of the cowes ferry so I spent my summer holidays day tripping to the island with my mum and dad who know it inch by inch. We camped there this year, I love it over there.

It will be interesting to see what the deal is with Beatrice's wedding. With her father's situation I doubt if it will be similar to Eugenie's huge 2 day affair - the Royals won't want a showy spectacle with Andy and Fergie at the centre nor will they get the sort of celebrity turnout with Andy being so toxic in entertainment circles.

I could see a smaller more isolated venue. They seem to have decided on London. The Guards' chapel was a good idea (but has fallen through because of Andy). Perhaps one of the smaller chapels with a Royal connection such as the Royal Chapel at St James' Palace (where Will & Kate had George christened). Perhaps Hampton Court Chapel (one of Princess Michael of Kents children married there). They might have a smaller actual wedding and then a larger reception with a lot of Russian oligarchs

It seems less likely that she is planning to do a Princess Anne and rock up to Crathie Kirk in a Range Rover and invite just 30 guests

VeniceBeach · 15/12/2019 22:58

@Northernlurker I watched that episode too the other day!

I actually really liked the dress the Queen wore. Reminds me of the floaty floral dresses some fashion-y people wear these days.

Oooh when is the Kate & Mary berry programme on?

AdaColeman · 16/12/2019 07:12

Is Bea’s wedding in June?

beanaseireann · 16/12/2019 07:22

The programme is on tonight at 8.30

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 16/12/2019 07:54

There’s the RF family lunch on Wednesday.
We’ll get a glimpse of outfits and see the wider family

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/12/2019 07:55

I do feel for Bea. It should be her happy day. Her sister had the whole shebang last year, and now she will have to go very low key. She hasn’t done anything wrong apart from having a dodgy set of parents.

AngelaScandal · 16/12/2019 09:16

Agreed Dobby. Particularly as the Eug wedding had such a positive PR impact for her (not the run up to the wedding obvs)

BlingLoving · 16/12/2019 09:19

Just getting back onto threads I'm on after a ridiculous absence.

Love some of the highlights of Kate's wardrobe from upthread and agree on many of the evening ones in particular. I loved her dress for the V&A (the red/black/check/Jackie O number) which someone posted and I think that might be my favourite day time dress she's worn.

I agree that she isn't really fun with her fashion. I'm not particularly stylish and not fashionable at all but I probably have more "fun" with my clothes than she does in the form of the odd quirky accessory or t-shirt/shirt with a ridiculous and OTT pattern for the hell of it, or whatever.

4 year old DD is annoyed because my Christmas tree ear rings I bought are only coming out for Christmas-Related events. She feels I should wear them daily!

Just found these and thought of you lot! Fergie giving good hair

Oh the 80s hair! I had a big black bow for my hair, very Fergie 1986!

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/12/2019 11:32

I had one when I was about 10 - black velvet with silver dots. I thought it was the height of fashion!
