This I think she got spot on (although I'd have gone for different boots) but the jacket is fab on her.

90% of Kate's evening wear is fabulous, as are her tour wardrobes.

Her day wear would improve if she:
wore more separates; especially flowy pants,
got her proportions right (bin those wide legged culottes and flippy short skirts)
Accessorise more

She likes solid colours, so she should take some risks and colour block.
Eg start with bright accessories. Navy dress with fuschia shoes or something

beanaseireann · 13/12/2019 20:40

I hate those stupid brown nosing PR fluffy articles in magazines like the Fergie one in Vogue.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/12/2019 20:48

I love that red dress @RomaineCalm and I prefer the darker hair on her too. I'm past my photo limit so pictures of my top Kate outfits will have to wait'

The black here is one of my faves - though not with the shiny tights!

And the red - this is your cabin crew fir today, thanks for flying with the RNZAF! 😁😉

William looks so young there!!

Hawking her jewellery all over the place and publicly citing Andrew as 'the most wonderful man'.

They just haven't a fucking care in the world have they, about what ordinary people think of them.

BanjoStarz · 13/12/2019 21:34

See I love that red coat dress from the Canada tour...and think the blacks really bland @DevonUkelele

Just goes to show you can’t please everyone Grin

Spudlet · 13/12/2019 21:43

I know it’s been said that Fergie and Andrew might marry again once Philip is gone, but I can’t see it ever happening, not when you read that interview and her social media. She seems to be completely oblivious to just how out of touch she sounds. I just can’t see the Queen - or Charles for that matter - ever giving it their blessing. She’d be a liability (not as much as Andrew mind you).

DevonUkelele · 13/12/2019 21:46

They're both from the NZ and Australia tour in 2014. (George's first overseas trip)

It's true the black is pretty bland - but it's literal dressing. Black with the silver fern for New Zealand. (And I'm happy to admit I do like simple/streamlined clothing 😉)

Wills has so much more hair! And the same suit in both pics, I think? It must be much easier dressing as a bloke.

AdaColeman · 13/12/2019 21:54

Well, you've got to laugh at "faith" marked out in diamanté!
I'm amazed that more hasn't been said about Epstein and Harvey Weinstein at Bea's 18th party.

wetpants · 13/12/2019 22:03

I really like most of Kate’s outfits, I’m particularly partial to military style coats and uniform wear.. Her day wear is really up my street, I’d love to wear something similar but I wfh so it’s bit pointless and my body type is nothing like hers Blush

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/12/2019 22:05

The white Zimmerman dress was the standout of the Australian tour for me. I think she later wore it to Wimbledon?

OP posts:
DevonUkelele · 13/12/2019 22:21

Yes, it's lovely too. And you are right @Queen - Sydney beach outing and Wimbledon below.

I'm not sure about the wedges though. I never am - not a fan. And she did cause plenty of HmmHmmdown under for running along the beach in them!

To be fair, I'm not sure what other heels she could've worn to walk on sand. I am partial to a wedge though!

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/12/2019 22:31

I read somewhere that the dress is unlined so she must've had a slip put in under it.

BanjoStarz · 13/12/2019 22:56

Ah sorry @DevonUkelele I could have sworn that red was from Canada.

I’d missed the literalness of the black to be honest, good point.

I like her when she wears bolder colours, they seem to light her up a bit more.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 13/12/2019 23:23

Well Fergie has definitely lost the plot & also undone all that positive feeling she gained from Eugenie's wedding.
Andrew is a disgrace & Sarah is just disappointing once again.

Lunde you talked about St Lucia & her Saint's day celebration in Sweden. Bizarrely I was given a book about Swedish traditions as a child (but I'm not Swedish) that had the story behind St Lucia & the light. I think it might have been given to me by one of my DF's Swedish colleagues. One of his Dutch colleagues gave me a book about Schiphol airport. Whilst a Greek work friend gave me a rosary.
I 'collected' a lot of interesting stuff as a child Smile

DevonUkelele · 14/12/2019 01:27

No probs @Banjo 😀. Just goes to show that literal can be subtle too! A little message for those you are visiting.

I do agree though - I much prefer Kate in brighter colours too.

DevonUkelele · 14/12/2019 01:31

To be fair, I'm not sure what other heels she could've worn to walk on sand. I am partial to a wedge though!

Kiwis and Aussies wear casual shoes to the beach (including the ubiquitous thongs - flip flops to anyone in the UK 😜) and generally flick them off as soon as they arrive.

The very idea of running up the beach in formal shoes is somewhat odd to us.

MotherofPearl · 14/12/2019 07:28

If we're still posting our favourite Kate outfits, here are a few of mine. I love the ones @frugalkitty posted, especially the red one (I think she had the same dress in black too?)

Unlike many I love the literal dressing, even the Anne of Green Gables outfit! And she often wears great outfits at Wimbledon.

I too am standing up for the Wedge 😁. I have loads of them in many colours and thought of you lot tutting everytime I wore them this summer 😊.

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/12/2019 08:10

Here's Zara at a (what else?) horsey event. We haven't seen her in a while but I think she looks good here. She always looks uncomfortable at more formal occasions, like her clothes are too tight/restrictive but a more relaxed vibe really suits her.

Loving the outfits. I too love a wedge. I’m limited mobility so can’t walk in heels very easily. A wedge allows me a bit of height with being able to walk more easily. Win win!
