Kate Middleton/Duchess of Cambridge needs a professional makeup artist?

I have always been a fan. I think she is intelligent and very conscious of the way she presents herself. Lately I cannot help but compare her makeup to the Duchess of Sussex. Meghan’s makeup looks are a lot better/glossy/smooth. Generally photographs better. Kates eye looks age her a bit so does the harsh contour. Really feel like she needs a professional makeup artist.

The poor woman can't win. If she has staff she gets slagged off for it, and now you're talking about her getting someone to do her makeup?

Who give a fuck what she looks like? That's not the point. That's so unbelievably shallow, and it's women like you who make other women feel like shit about themselves and try to live up to ridiculous expectations.

Focus on yourself, and leave other poor women alone.

SouthWestmom · 23/11/2019 11:40

I agree but I'm really anti monarchy anyway so I feel like they should at least dress like I want them to.

I like Zara with her tongue piercing and blonde hair. Always do weird how people think Kate's so beautiful. She's just a skinny posh bird.

They all look like posh people though, so no surprise there. Like Megan and her style.

SouthWestmom · 23/11/2019 11:40

In that note wouldn't it be fab if we could all vote, X factor style, in their hair cuts and clothing choices. 😂

GrumpyHoonMain · 23/11/2019 11:41

Meghan has better skin and so her make will look and sit better. Also speaking from experience as someone pushing 40 - Brown / black don’t crack. Extra melanin usually comes with extra collagen and slightly oilier skin.

BilboBercow · 23/11/2019 11:42

She really doesn't look older than her late 30s. She looks age appropriate and is obviously beautiful and takes care of herself.
Unfortunately due to the expectation on women to constantly look 25, with women getting botox etc from an early age, we've completely lost sight of what is normal.
Most "ordinary" women in their late 30's would kill to look like Catherine. Myself included and I reckon I look younger than my age.

MarianaMoatedGrange · 23/11/2019 11:43

I expect Kate diets constantly - this may contribute to her ageing. What's that saying about over a certain age you have to choose between your face and your arse? Grin

GrumpyHoonMain · 23/11/2019 11:44

@ BilboBercow - exactly and Meghan looks her age for a brown / mixed race person too, as we often do look younger than our age.

FelixFelicis6 · 23/11/2019 11:45

Don’t try and make this into a nuanced debate, you chose to post to pick apart a woman’s appearance when it has fuck all to do with you. People telling you to stop being such a twat isn’t about them blocking your freedom of speech, it’s about trying to get people to stop being so misogynistic. Not much more complicated than that.

ploopsie · 23/11/2019 11:47

Well Kate seems to have botox & when I was talking about her looking older is because I think she's is styled more like a 50 yr old. It's fine to look your age, it's not about looking younger.

and is obviously beautiful
I always find this odd, she's attractive & very slim but I don't think she's beautiful. Imo Lupito Nyong'o is beautiful so is Christy Turlington

Didiusfalco · 23/11/2019 11:47

She absolutely doesn't look older than her age, we're just conditioned by images in the media not to recognise what women realistically look like at particular ages without intervention.

GrumpyHoonMain · 23/11/2019 11:48

As a brown / mixed race person - Kate’s style (clothes / make up) is not really one I aspire too, but Meghan’s often is inspiring to me. I love her make up looks and the colours of her outfits always look perfect against my skin tone. But my sister who passes for white and is a size 0 prefers Kate’s style as hers tends to suit her (though Kate’s can’t really be copied as readily any more as high st shops seemed to have stopped doing it recently).

NerdyNightOwl · 23/11/2019 11:50

Same here. I’d love to look like her too. Plus her kids are gorgeous and it is not all William there😁

She looks a lot older than her late thirties

She absolutely does not look a lot older than late 30s. You have a very warped sense of what someone in their late 30s 'should' look like

ploopsie · 23/11/2019 11:54

I think she looks a lot older than her 30s because of her style.

SemperIdem · 23/11/2019 11:55

I like Meghan’s dewy make up as that’s what I tend to go for myself. I do think Kate’s suits her though.

egontoste · 23/11/2019 11:58

And the MN 'Stupid Idea Of The Day Award' goes to...

ploopsie · 23/11/2019 12:01

It's not about looking 25 it's about looking modern & fresh which she is of course under no obligation to look like. However I can say her look is a bit dated without being a misogynist.

Prime example is this photo, her mum looks more modern to me, lower neckline, shorter sleeves, sandals, less matchy.

“Stupid”, “sexist”, “fuck”, “twat”

What is worse? Having an opinion on a public figures makeup on a style and beauty chat or using such language for people you don’t know anything about?

To you 🤓

Has had 3 healthy children

Whata that got to do with the price of fish?!

I'm the same age as the DOC, & don't look nearly as good as her, that's all. And I'm somewhat envious of anyone who can bear 3 healthy children at all, let alone appear as radiant as she does. Regardless of what other crap they may have to put up with.

Stupiddriver1 · 23/11/2019 12:05

Maybe she doesn’t care if she looks older than late 30s in some peoples opinion? Maybe she likes her eye make up?

NerdyNightOwl · 23/11/2019 12:12

To be fair, she does have help. If I could skip out on looking after my kids, household chores, have someone style my clothes and hair probably get a few facials, I would feel radiant too. Although media criticism/lies/controversies are sure to be stressful. To be honest I think Kate is too intelligent to let minor criticisms like clothes and stuff affect her much. She appears to be mature enough to know it is part of the image for her job. Scandals and rumours on the other hand maybe something else as she comes across as a family person

RuggyPeg · 23/11/2019 12:12

You haven't received any nasty replies op - you've just been robustly challenged on your ridiculous, misogynistic views. There's a world of difference.

NerdyNightOwl · 23/11/2019 12:16

I don’t think so. You see being challenged is fine, and should be along the lines of “ I don’t agree with you and here’s why...” and a peoples opinions can be conveyed respectfully without the use of derogatory language.

Modern and fresh 😕she is a ducess and future Queen her "style" is monitored by royal stylist she needs to wear safe clothes so she doesn't get pulled apart in magazines and on the internet, oh wait...
